Chapter 84

LUCY
It was time to say goodbye to each other. Nora blinked her eyes and I smiled. "Goodbye," she said
I rolled my eyes. She's been acting strange since we left the penthouse. It was like she was avoiding me or rather she doesn't want to talk to me. Maybe she doesn't want to miss me, I had thought. She turned to leave, holding her bags.
I held her. "Not even a hug?. The media are watching". She furrowed her brows and I chuckled. "A hug won't kill," I said, pulling her into a hug. "I will miss you" I whispered. She raised her head to stare into my eyes. Our eyes got locked for a moment and I slowly lowered my head and finally locked my lips with hers. She gasped. I released my lips from hers and muttered a sorry. I turned to leave. Someone held me from behind. "I love you" my eyes switched. Did she just say those words? I turned and she chuckled nervously.
"I'm sorry" she mumbled. Before I could say a word, she dragged her bag and left. I sighed. She wouldn't even let me talk. Watching her leave, it was like a part of me was leaving. I gestured to the guards to get my bags. Giving her the last look, I left also.

Kelvin was at the airport to welcome me. He walked closer to me. "Wow, you look good. Nora must have taken good care of you. You look fat" he teased. I rolled my eyes. I wasn't in the mood for his teasing. I watched past him and entered the car. Kelvin watched closer to me. "Are you ok?". I nodded. "Are you sure?"
I groaned. "Kelvin, get into the car. I've got a concert this evening". He sighed and entered the car. The drive back home was awkward. Kelvin tried to cheer me up but I wasn't in the mood for that. It was like my heart yearn for her more and more. I picked up my phone and scrolled through her pictures. I stopped at the last one we took together. I smiled. Kelvin peeped into the phone. He scoffed. "I should have suspected"
I sighed. "I miss her," I said sincerely
He furrowed his brows. "You said?"
"I miss her, Kelvin."
He sighed. "This is strange"
I blinked. "I know it is. But hearing her say those words". I turned. "Makes me miss her more"
He narrowed his brows. "What words?"
I smiled. "I love you". He batted his lashes. "She said she loves me"
Kelvin laughed. I stared at him. He stopped laughing. "You are been serious?". I nodded. "And you love her too?"
I rolled my eyes. "I like her but love, I don't think so"
He furrowed his brows. "What about Jasper?"
I sighed. "I feel so bad using Nora to get to Jasper"
Kelvin laughed. "Did you just say you don't think you love her?". I nodded, trying to understand where he was driving to. "You're in love with Nora, Lucian. You..."
I scoffed. "I don't love her. There is a big difference between loving someone and liking her"
Kelvin laughed. "You just won't admit that you love her"
"There is nothing to admit, Kelvin. I don't love her"
He hissed. "That means she remains the bait to get Jasper?"
I blinked. I don't want her getting hurt in the process. "I think I will cancel the wedding,"
Kelvin widened his eyes. "Are you serious?"
I nodded. "I can't let her get hurt. I will face Jasper myself"
Kelvin scoffed. "Do you ever think Nora might be acting real nice to get you to open up to her? What if telling you she loves you was a way of getting you?"
I furrowed my brows. I don't believe that. Nora won't do that. Or can she? I rolled my eyes. "Nora won't do that*
"If Julia could betray you. Do you think Nora won't?"
I blinked. Nora and Julia are different. I had tried to compare them so many times. Nora isn't in any way like Julia. "Julia wasn't anyway like the other girls you came in touch with and yet she betrayed you. She was the timidest girl you've ever known. You've ever loved and she betrayed you" my subconscious mind said
I groaned. It's so difficult to want to doubt Nora. Considering she agreed to marry me even when she knew it was on a contract basis. I sighed. "Kelvin, she knows about the contract marriage"
Kelvin blinked. "You told her?"
'She knows, right before I mentioned it to her"
Kelvin smiled. "I think you should go on with the wedding"
I frowned. "No, wedding,"
Kelvin smiled. "She isn't going to get hurt. I promise"
I stared at him. "Promise?"
"Promise"
I nodded. "I will go on with the wedding as planned"
"Are you telling the king about it?"
I glared. "He can't find out, ok?". He nodded and I glared. "Ok?"
He groaned. "Ok"
I sighed. My dad doesn't follow me up on social media, so I know he can't find out from there nor does he listen to news about celebrities. But I have this feeling he's going to find out about it!!.
