I felt so awkward, hearing Jasper say those words to me. He kept telling me how much he loved and how long he had loved me. He said he had wanted to tell me but he knew if Lucian finds out, he would use it against him. I rolled my eyes. "Why are you telling me all these now? Why did you threaten me with my friends? Why did you make me go to that competition?. Why did you make me travel with him to Paris?"
He walked closer to me and sat down beside me. He held my hands. "That was one of my greatest regrets"
I pulled my hands away from his and stood up. I rolled my eyes and sighed. I knew what I was about to say will make Jasper either hate me and want to harm me or let me be. I had to think about it and was sure I was ready to face the consequences, irrespective of what happened. I breathe in and out and said, "I have already agreed to marry Lucian and there is no going back"
He batted his lashes. "It's a deadly mission you're going on. Hope you know that?"
I sighed. "I have to finish what you made me start"
He frowned. "Do you love him"
I scoffed. "We ain't talking about love here"
"Answer my question. Do you love him?" He yelled
"Don't you dare yell at me" I yelled back
He batted his lashes. "Did Lucian teach you to talk at me"
I rolled my eyes. "You made me stronger". I picked my back up. "I will advise you don't try anything stupid," I said and walked out on him. When I got outside his house, I released the breath I was holding. I knew I had to be vigilant or I risk so many things. I just hope he doesn't do anything to my family and friends.

I have been thinking. After I came back home from Jasper's residence, I thought of what to do. I came up with the conclusion. I need to let Lucian know that I knew all this while that he is a prince and if he wants this wedding to hold, he would have to take me to his father. I called him and after telling him everything, surprisingly he agreed. He told me his dad knew about the wedding already. When I asked who told him, he said it was Jasper. I was surprised. I never thought Jasper will go that far. I knew he did that because of me. He wanted to stop our wedding. I couldn't tell Lucian the reason why Jasper had done that.
I bet if he knows, he might want to use me against Jasper and I don't want that. I might not be in love with him but I love him enough to want him safe. He taught me to be stronger and I do appreciate that. So, I kept it a secret. Lucian told me his dad would like to meet me too. I told my mom about it and she couldn't believe it. My dad did not hide his surprise either. I never wanted to tell it to Addy, I knew she was going to freak out and that was exactly what she did. "You don't mean it right?" She yelled.
I groaned. "I knew telling you would be a bad idea. And you prove me right"
"You're going to be a queen"
I rolled my eyes. She doesn't understand. Our wedding is just for a while and after that, we will return to our normal lives. "And you will become a divorcee," my subconscious mind said
I sighed. I know and I don't want to accept the fact yet. There was a part of me that believes Lucian will love me back one day. But that part was been overshadowed by a greater fear. Fear that he would never love me. Fear that when the time comes he would leave me shattered. "Hey!!" Addy poked me
I rolled my eyes. "Addison!!"
He chuckled. "Someone finally called me by my full name"
I sighed. "Addy, I need to sleep. You either lay down to sleep too or you go meet mom. She loves chatting just like you do"
She chuckled. "I'm going nowhere. I will wait right here for you to wake up"
I groaned. "Suit yourself"

I had to travel to America so we could go to Haiti together. We had made arrangements to go see Lucian's dad. I was so nervous when we got there, but Mira assured me their dad would be nice. Lucian acted so cold, though Mira had given me a clue about his fight with his dad, I felt he was supposed to act natural, just for me. At least to help me get comfortable. Mira said the king was in a meeting with his cabinet and won't be back until evening. I was shown to my room. I took my bath, got dressed, and waited for the king's arrival. I was going through a book when I heard a knock on the door. I stood up to open the door. It was Mira. "The King is back. He wants to see you"
Fear twined around my heart. I nodded. "I will be out in a few minutes"
She smiled. "You can come with me now. You don't have to worry"
I squeezed my clammy hands together. "Ok". I followed Mira behind until we got to the door. I stopped. "I don't think I can do this"
She smiled. "You will do just fine". As she opened the door, I felt I was going to hyperventilate and pass out.
