PIERCE
I hurriedly drove until I arrived at Lara's house, the big mansion here at San Vicente.
As I parked the car outside, I was also able to enter their huge mansion since their front gate was open. I quickly ran towards the front door.
I knocked right after that someone opened the door, and it was Lara, whose eyes were swollen up and crying, but soon smiled as she saw me, "You came, Pierce," and she hugged me tightly.
I couldn't speak as I can feel her sobbing while hugging me.
I comforted her, "What happened, sweetie?" I asked her while I wiped her tears, "Is your dad home?"
She nodded, "He's home and he was drunk again when he came home and yelled at us. He was about to slap mom in front of me so, I stepped in to protect her, so I was the one he slapped and hurt," she explained and showed her scars and bruises.
Lara's father, who is also our Principal at school is very abusive, especially when he is drunk so I can't help feeling sorry for Lara.
"Alright. Can we go to your room first so we can treat your wounds and your dad won't see me?"
She nodded and we went inside their house I can see that his dad was laying down on the sofa, "He fell asleep and he's on the sofa now."
I could see her dad sleeping with a bottle in his hand. What a mess.
We also reached her room and immediately treated her wound until I patched everything, "Are you feeling well?"
She smiled, "Of course. As long as I'm with you, I feel safe."
I don't know what to answer. I wanted to look her in the eyes but I just bowed, "Why did you call me?"
She looked at me, "Well, you are the only one who knows about my dad and also —" she cut off what he was going to say because he was hesitant but she still said, "I missed you," she took my hand and clasped it in our hands
For the first time in a few months, I saw the person I once loved. I sniffed, "What about Cliff?"
She rolled her eyes, "He doesn't love me. When he sees someone sexier than me, he leaves me and doesn't care about me. Not like you, Pierce," she explained and moved closer to me.
I swallowed because I knew what was going to happen now, "and what are you trying to say?"
She slung her hands onto my neck, "I still love you, my Pierce."
The next thing I knew was that she kissed me on my lips.
I admit that I missed her. I missed kissing her and every part of her so I don't know what happened but I immediately broke away and went straight out of her room.
I only know one thing, I don't love her anymore and right now, I am certain that I love Sapphire.
I could still hear her calling me but I ran away and went home.
What she is doing right now is not possible and not right.
As I got home, I noticed that it was past midnight and probably my parents are already asleep so I quickly went to my room to sleep.
Just then, time flies fast as I woke up when I heard someone ringing our doorbell.
I looked at the wall clock and realized that it was just six in the morning.
I sighed as I was pissed, I am still very sleepy and they were ruining my sleep!
About my parents, they went to Cagayan de Oro earlier at four AM, that is why I needed rest and sleep.
I went down with a mixture of annoyance since this unknown guest is ruining my sleep.
As I opened the door, I was surprised and confused to see Lara there.
I opened the gate and was about to ask but she cuts me off, "Hey, baby boy!"
Then, she was about to kiss me when I pushed her away.
"Woah, Woah, Woah. What are you trying to do? And what are you doing here, Lara?" I wonder why she is at my house in the morning. Isn't it clear that I don't love her anymore?
She rolled her eyes and smirked. "Come on, what's going on with you? Nothing happened to us last night, right?"
I rolled my eyes and I can't believe that she just went inside our house in a snap.
I don't want her to be here, maybe Sapphire will see her and mind that we're neighbors.
"What do you want? I still don't know why you're here, but you're lucky that Mom and Dad aren't here, I don't want any issues. Let's go upstairs.
She nodded and entered my room first. When we got inside, I closed the door when I felt Lara kissing my neck again, which made me move away.
She was about to get closer when I pushed her and I went to the window, "What's going on with you? Isn't it clear that I don't want you anymore?" I said, coldly, "You've hurt me before and I don't want to be back with you."
"I'm upset with you because it didn't work out! That's why I thought of going here so we can have fun, especially without your parents and sister."
I rolled my eyes and when I turned to him, I froze where I stood. What happened to her and she is all naked now? SHIT!
"Like what you see? I know you can't resist me," she kissed me and pulled me towards the bed.
SAPPHIRE
Cooper wakes up now and then because he coughs and sometimes he cries but it's good that he's sleeping now.
He still hasn't fully recovered and he still has a fever.
I went to the window and opened the curtain. I looked at the window on the other side and it was a big surprise to me that the curtain and window in Pierce's room were already open.
After all these days it has been closed since the two of us had a misunderstanding. He was there and seriously looking outside. I smiled and waved at him but he didn't notice me.
He turned his back now so I immediately took out my phone to call him when I saw that he was not alone in his room.
He was with Lara inside who was just naked and kissed him and they both disappeared from my sight.
I immediately closed the window and froze. I can't believe what I have just seen.
That explained well, I assumed he and Lara did get back together.
I guess it's not all about Cooper, maybe it's just his excuse for him and Lara to get back together since he still loved her.
I feel like my world is in slow motion when I didn't notice that Cooper was crying but I didn't have the strength to go to him. I learned and sat on the floor while crying.
I can't go on like this. I feel like it hurts more than when Simon left me.
I noticed that mom entered the room and immediately went to me and made me stand up, "Sapphire, what happened?"
I can't answer her right now because I am so numb from crying. I couldn't help but hug her, "Sweetie, what happened?"
SWEETIE. Because of that sweetie! Lara was the one he called last night, that makes sense.
I bowed, "No, it's like I have a cold. My head and body also hurt."
Mom helped me stand up and carried me to the bed. She kissed my forehead, "You need to take a rest, sweetie. If you want to talk to me, you know where to find me," she said and stood up.
She took Cooper from the crib and left my room.
I didn't realize that I have slept when I woke up and to my surprise that it was already dark.
Is it night already? Why am I still in bed and sleeping?
I felt my phone vibrate so I picked it up. When I saw who called, I remembered again what happened and what I saw this morning.
"Curse you, Pierce Harret!" I screamed and threw my cell phone against the wall, breaking it.
Dad quickly went inside and seemed to hear my cell phone breaking, "Darling, what's going on?"
"I just need a new phone," that's all I said, and turned away from him.
He came in and sat next to me, "Are you going to go and check up with our Doctor? How are you feeling?"
I shook my head and looked at him, "I'm fine, but it's just that I'm too exhausted and feckless. Maybe Cooper infected me," I lied to not tell the truth in front of him.
"Alright. But remember, if you haven't recovered by Monday, I'll have you checked up," he said as he kissed my forehead, "Don't worry, we'll take care of Cooper for the time being. All you have to do is to rest, okay?"
When dad came out, he and mom almost bumped into each other, "Yes, she's here. Just wait and I'll give her the phone first," I heard mom say and smiled and gave me the phone, "It's Pierce, he called," she said and went out.
I stared at the earphone and put it to my ear as I heard his voice, "Fire, are you there?"
PIERCE
I could feel her. I could hear her breathing. I am so sure it was her but she didn't say a word. I've been calling her for a while but she doesn't answer until the line was unattended so I decided to use the landline.
I wanted to say sorry for what happened last night because I am so rude that I left her last night and I want to be fair.
"Fire, please talk to me. I know you are there," I said but I just heard her put me down.
With an irritated look, I stared at the phone. Her mom said that she is not feeling well and looked like to be sick. But why doesn't she want to talk to me?
I just didn't pay attention to that and just dressed up since we had a boys' night out.
Once a month we go out with Brad, Theo, and Nichard, and we go to different bars and anywhere in the world as long as we can talk about girls, basketball, and stuff. We're looking for this night since it's Saturday.
Now, I'm nervous because for sure I will be the main topic here and what can I answer them? I will also never gonna tell you what happened to Lara and me earlier because it will only make me feel more guilty.
Now, as we go to the bar, Brad shares his wonderful story with Belle Freeman yesterday.
"We ate ice cream yesterday and suddenly, I was staring at her and she was staring at me until someone bumped into us," he started to share his story.
"Then what happened?" Nichard asked with interest. The three of us are listening and excited.
"Well, we just kissed. As in! And suddenly, I told her how I feel toward her since the beginning. I told her that I had a crush on her so that's why I always pick on her so that she would notice me and unexpectedly, she confessed as well."
"No way, bro!" I said.
"True. That's her reason also to get my attention, the truth is that she has had a huge crush on me for a long time."
"That's kind of cute! You pick on each other and fight like kids, but it's sweet. I mean, are you two dating right now?" Theo asked again.
He thought, "Well, Belle said that she first wanted to test if we were good as a couple, so she named it a trial relationship."
I looked at him, "Something like that? Trial relationship? What is that?"
"I don't know either, but that's what Belle wants," he said while taking a sip of his drink, "What about you, Nichard? How long will you be still single?"
"Wow, you've singled me out again! You guys are mean to me!"
We laughed at the joke, good thing I am having a good time right now.
