PIERCE
We were in the mini-hall while they were busy with their love life.
Theo is talking to his girlfriend about the school's upcoming events and the practices since it will be really busy and the schedules will be hectic.
Of course, Brad and Belle are arguing but in a sweet way. They were teasing each other and that will never change between the two of them.
I sighed and looked at the wallpaper of my cellphone and saw Fire's gorgeous face.
Where are you now, Fire? I miss you so much and I want us to get along and fix everything. I am more than ready to accept this kind of challenge.
Theo approached me and patted me on the shoulder, "Bro, why are you so quiet there? Have you talked to Sapphire yet?"
I shook my head, "No. Not yet. My last visit to their house was last Monday, but she refused to talk to me."
Three days have passed. For three days I wondered what I had done to her that made her not want to talk to me.
I honestly felt guilty about everything, especially since I felt like I betrayed her, but I was confident that I wasn't doing anything wrong.
"She will soon come up to us. She just needs time to heal for now," he said and he patted my shoulders again.
Nicole approached us and squealed, "Speaking of Sapphire, look," she pointed at the entrance gate and we saw her walking.
She walks in slow motion and I seem to be star-struck by her beauty.
I noticed some changes in her now. It is obvious that she is still quite pale and she is also losing some weight.
"Sapphire!" Theo ran over there and hugged him. He pulled Fire closer to us and I could see her smiling at them but not at me.
Does she have a problem with me?
"How are you? You're changing so much!" Brad said and hugged her tightly.
She looked at him, "I'm fine," she responded but still didn't look at me and kept avoiding my gaze.
Almost everyone flocked to her and when they took back, I took a deep breath and approached him, "Fi --" I didn't finish what I was going to say when she slapped me very hard.
We were all surprised as well as others around us.
"Don't you dare talk to me, you cheater!" We were also passed over. My eyes are still wide from what happened.
"What happened?" They asked, but I ignored them and ran.
I chased after her and grabbed her arms. I could see that she was crying so I was worried. I don't want her to cry! "What happened? Please, talk to me. You've been avoiding me for days!"
"What else do we have to talk about?!" she shouted and I felt that our friends were just around me, "Shouldn't you will be with your girlfriend right now?"
I was surprised by what she said and didn't care about the students around us, "What are you talking about? What do you mean girlfriend? You're my girlfriend, of course. Come on, let's talk."
"Don't tell me you've got amnesia that you've forgotten? For your information, I caught you two and if I hadn't closed my window, my two eyes would probably have seen what you and Lara were doing that morning."
My eyes widened. I remembered things that happened that never really happened. Shit! The window is not closed! I'm such a stupid!
And of course, she probably sees that and just jumped to conclusions.
"Fire, please —" I was about to hold her when she pushed me away.
"Don't you dare touch me and don't call me Fire. Go and find your girlfriend now! I don't care if you and Lara get back together! I hate you!" she was about to leave when I grabbed her arms again.
"Listen to me," I said as I tightened my hold so he wouldn't escape, "Nothing happened to us. Believe me, Fire. I can't do that to you because you're the one that I love and I think about you. I felt like cheating on you and I'm sorry. Believe me, I love you very much," When I said all that, I softened so much that I didn't realize that she had left my grip.
Her eyes were emotionless as she wiped her tears and left the place.
She said that she hates me, but I knew she didn't mean it. She's just hurt and I must think of a way to tell her that I love her and nothing has happened between Lara and me I will find a way for both of us to get along.
My friends came to me with anger in their eyes, "PIERCE HARRET! What the hell?! Seriously?! Are you and Lara back together?!" Belle yelled and I can tell that she is very angry with me.
I patted my face, "No! It's just ... it's a long story and all I know is that I love her! I love Sapphire! Nothing happened to me and Lara!"
They nodded and at the same time Nicole hugged me, "I know that you and Sapphire will get along well. Trust me."
"Thank you," I said.
I promise myself that Fire and I will get along. I won't let us fall apart just because of a misconception.
Right as the classes are done, I quickly got home. I got dressed but soon enough, Theo went to visit me.
"Oh hey, bro! What are you doing here this very afternoon?"
"Nothing. I came here because I wanted to hear the explanation of your side about you and Lara. What happened?" He said and I sighed.
"You know, let's have a coffee and mom bakes a cake, and then I'll tell you everything."
When we got down, I found mom fixing the table and putting a slice of cake.
She looked at us and waved us off, "Oh, hey! I am putting some cake and coffee here, in case you want. Your dad and I are about to leave to buy some groceries."
"Okay, mom. No problem! Theo and I will be here. Just take care!"
After that, mom and dad left and we went straight to the Kitchen to put some coffee and ate a cake.
Then we sat down at the dining table, "Maybe you're going to tell me now?"
I closed my eyes, "It was because Lara went here last Saturday and I regret that I let her into my room."
"Why did you let her go in your room in the first place?"
"It's just that I didn't want Fire to see her and she tried to have ... you know what with me, which is I will never do that with other girls."
"Oh, what is it that Fire says she sees? Why did she still see it?"
"Because the window of our room is opposite each other and she saw what Lara was doing."
His eyes widened and he almost spewed out the coffee he was drinking, "Your rooms are just the opposite? Bro, Pierce! I didn't make you look stupid! We have what we call a curtain that can be closed a curtain so that it can be covered," I rolled my eyes.
Sometimes my friend is harsh but I'm used to it and I love my friends very much.

"What happened? Maybe something happened between the two of you!"

I was devastated because of what she did and I didn't think that she would see that! And, she was also the reason why she lost her necklace."
He almost spits out his coffee again when he heard what I said, "You mean, she — That girl is a witch, bro! I don't remember her being bad. What happened to her?"
"I don't know, bro," I said and rolled my eyes, "Fire must have assumed that something happened to us. After all, who could blame her for what she saw? And about Lara, it seems like her true personality is coming out. I mean, I knew that she was kind of mean but I knew she has a good heart. But right now, she is the worst."
"You're dead, bro. Man, I just hope that Nicole doesn't turn out like her. Their best friends, in the first place," that's all he said, and continued drinking his coffee and eating.
It has been a few weeks and it has been a month, but Fire and I still haven't talked at school. We're classmates, she's still sitting in front of me, and I'm the only circle of friends but I'm just like air in her eyes and she never talks to me.
Now we are busy with practice since the Athletics will be held in Tagum City this coming Saturday.
"Team," Dad calls us for attention or let's say Coach Harret, "Now there is an official statement and someone sent me an email from the organizers of the Athletics Meet and it turns out that our game will be against St. Mary's College - Senior High School. Also, I have a background check and you might remember their new team captain. He was the Team Captain last year at Ateneo de Davao University."
"Damn, it's not good," Brad said suddenly and looked at me, "Probably, their new Team Captain was the same one who we fought in Davao last year. Remember that guy hitting on Lara before?"
"Yeah, there's no one else we've fought in Davao. That captain has no shame. We've been sworn to him since until now, he's still going to be our opponent," I told him. I looked at him with a determined look, "We have to beat them this coming Saturday. If we're all in this together!" They cheered and supported.
"Alright, let's start our practice."
When our basketball practice was over, Dad and I went home together but we first fetch Priscilla from our grandparents. Ever since Fire and I broke up, she hasn't come home because she loved staying with our grandparents. They always spoil her, that's why.
"Hi, Dad! Hi Pierce! I missed you all," she exclaimed and turned to dad, "Hey dad, I want to eat ice cream!"
"Okay then, let's go to the Pick Me Shop," Dad said and we went to the Pick Me since it was nearby.
I got out of the car and entered the store to buy ice cream. She also followed me and we headed to the counter, "Miss. Can I get an ice cream for three," I said and she nodded, I reached for the payment once she gave it to us.
We then sat in the empty stalls and relaxed while eating our ice cream.
Dad looked around, "Hey, Pris, the weather looks good today. Do you want to go to the Capitol today and play at the playground?" Dad said but she just shook her head.
"Yeah, but only if Pierce will come with me. Just me and Pierce."
"Just your older brother? You don't want to be with me?" she nodded and Dad just laughed, "Oh okay, ask him if he agrees."
Priscilla immediately looked at me and begged me to join her, "Pierce, please come with me. You'll go with me as I'll play there with you, right?"
I laughed because of how cute she was, "Yes. How could I say no to a cute girl like you?"
"Yey! Let's go, Pierce! Bye, dad!" Priscilla pulled me suddenly and Dad was also confused since she dragged me out.
"Hey! Priscilla, wait! I'll take you there with your brother."
We all hop in the car and he drove us to the playground just blocks away from the shop.
Dad turned to me, "Hey, Pierce Marco!"
I rolled my eyes because I don't want to be called Marco, "Please stop calling me that, dad. It's really bad to hear."
He laughed, "I know, just take care of your sister. You know that even though she's just turning two, she's acting like five years old as she's so cheerful."
I nodded, "Alright, I'll take care of her."
Just as he left, I turned to Priscilla but she disappeared beside me, "Oh no, she just left me," I didn't notice that she ran and entered the park and playground.
