A few seconds after his command, Eleanor felt strong manly hands hold her arm, roughly pulling her from the ground. She helplessly tried fighting against them, despite knowing it was obviously futile. They dragged her down to the dungeon and locked her up in a cell. Eleanor curled up on the floor, sobbing silently. Maybe she should have told him not to go with her, this wouldn't have happened. She doesn't need anyone to tell her if anything happens to him, they'd definitely kill her. And there would no one to save her. She wasn't scared for herself, she was scared of loosing the only person she loved dearly. The one who has been good to her and didn't treat her anymore like a slave. She endangered his life and the life of her people. She hates to think if anything happens to him, the king would make her people also suffer it. Worst of all he can choose to eliminate her. What the hell was she thinking all this while? That this would be a fairytale with no life threatening challenges. Now the one she was probably imagining having a perfect life with might actually die because of her. And if he dies, she'd definitely be killed and it's loss on both sides. They would end up dying for nothing, no happy ending. Her heart was thumping hard against her chest, she feared she might have a heart attack. She was afraid of losing him, she doesn't think she can ever forgive herself for it. Tears poured like a flood for her eyes, fear was greatly envelope her. She feared losing Luciano and also losing her people. * The news spread like a wildfire around the entire village and definitely generated gossips. Gwen stood against the wall, breathing heavily trying as much as possible not to panic, but it wasn't working. Her heart was racing faster than ever, her hands shaking from so much fear, her lips quivering. The arrow meant for Eleanor hit Luciano. She was scared for the both of them, the only person who helped them here in Cordenia is in danger and her best friend? She doesn't even want to think about what will happen to her. She swallowed a heavy lump in her throat and moved away from the wall, blinking her eyes repeatedly to stop the tears that threatened to fall. She needed to do something, probably find Nikolai. Gwen heaved out a small heavy breath and ran up the stairs in search of him. Walking into the hallway leading to his room, she bumped into somebody and lost her footing. "Gwen." Nikolai wrapped his hands around her waist, preventing her from falling. "Nikolai." She breathed out a sigh of relief, looking up at him. "Gwen, are you ok?" He held her shoulders looking at her with concern evident in his eyes. "Eleanor." Her voice came out shaky and she began sobbing again. He looked around the hallway to make sure no one was watching before grabbing her hand, pulling her to his room. "I'm scared Nikki, they'd kill her-" "Shhh." He placed his finger on her lips stopping her from continuing. "She's gonna be fine okay?" "It's hard to believe it would be Nikolai, I'm scared." Tears poured from her eyes as she paced around the room. "It would become worse for us if anything happens to her, the people has high hopes already. It's crashing down already, it's-" "Hey." She breathed out a deep sigh when she noticed the sad look on his face. She has been so worried about her friend she almost forgot his brother's life is in danger. This is messy. "I'm sorry." She apologized in a small voice looking down at her feet. She was so selfish she didn't think about Luciano, he risked his own life to save her friend and she didn't even bother to worry about him. "Hey, it's fine." He shook his head, running his fingers through his hair. "He'll be fine, he's a strong man after all." She smiled when he chuckled. She shook her head, pushing the smile away, immediately she remembered they still had a lot on ground. "What do we do?" She asked, even though it sounded hopeless to her ears. What can they do? Absolutely nothing. "Well..." Nikolai trailed off, running his palm on his face and stood akimbo, staring into space. "Nothing right? Nothing can be done. It's just hopeless." She didn't wait for him to reply, she just doesn't want to hear the words from him. She avoided feeling so much disappointment. "No." Her brows rose when he replied. "It's not hopeless. I have a plan." * * "Get out of my way!" The Queen screamed, pushing the maid to the wall as she hurried to Luciano's room. She was boiling in rage, trying as much as possible to direct her anger to the slave and not break down. She burst into the room, seeing the royal physician beside Luciano's bed, doing whatever he knows best. "Hurry!" She yelled in anger at the physician. "My queen, I advise you leave the-" "Why?!" She stopped pacing and glared hard at him, her hand holding her gown in a tight fist. "I need to work efficiently with no disturb." She growled, her eyes filled with so much rage. "You wouldn't speak to me that way!" No matter what situation she still thought of respect. "Now continue." She continued pacing around the room, taking her eyes from him. It's all because of the slave! She knew she was nothing but bad luck, she came into their lives and finally got her soon hypnotized by whatever charm she used. She knew it! She knew that witch was planning to kill her son. She should've eliminated her immediately, she should've killed her and the rest of her people. Tears brimmed in her eyes and she blinked repeatedly, trying to stop it. She would kill her if anything happens to Luciano, even if nothing happens and he survives this she would kill her immediately. She's not giving chances to any threat again. . "How is he Mabuse?" Axel asked immediately he was done with the treatment. "Well, I see the arrow was poisoned." Mabuse raised his brows at them knowingly, they must've have poisoned it to instantly kill the maid. "It's a deadly poison and I've given him some herbs, but," He stopped, heaving out a deep sigh. "It's a fifty-fifty chance, he might not survive it."
