Nora's pov continues
I turned to see Dylan but he wasn't alone, he sat with a pretty blondie lady. I watched as the girl was persuading him to open up and eat the fries, he didn't want them at first but he later opened up and she chuckled. They were playing, this must be his girlfriend. I thought.
"Miss" "Miss" I'm still waiting! The man from earlier yelled, I turned and let a bow before leaving to get the meal. I felt disturbed, but why?
I came back, quickly dropped the meal and made to turn when he held my wrist, stopping me from leaving.
"Sir, I have to attend to some customers" I mumbled.
"Don't call me sir, my name is Frederick and you are?" He asked looking steadily at me.
"N...Nora" I stammered. He smiled and ran his eyes seductively. I got uncomfortable and dragged down my skirt. He slipped a card into my hand and made a "call me sign".
"Ok," I said and left. "Yuck," I cursed under my breath. Yeah, yeah I get lots of that. I should have let go of his grip earlier but the last time I acted tough towards a flirty customer, Mrs Wilson deducted my salary, saying that I treated her best customer badly by proving to be strong but apart from that, I still say my mind for all I care, less physical activity, more talking.
I went to the counter and saw Dylan smiling, his smiles look so heavenly, Gosh! I couldn't help but smile sheepishly.
I felt uncomfortable and averted my gaze from them when I noticed the blondie girl staring at me perhaps she noticed how I stole glances at them occasionally. I didn't want Dylan to see me so I left for the restroom immediately.
Dylan's pov
"Dylan, I'm sorry babe. I wasn't thinking straight, I had thoughts of my mom and didn't want to hurt dad." She reached for my hands and held them. I retreated my hand from her, crossing them over my chest
"At least, you could have acted like you cared even for second or best still save me the embarrassment. People made fun of me all because of you, thanks to Ryan. He had my back all those while." I took my drink and gulped.
"I'm sorry, I'm here now, I'll make up for everything that has happened."
"And what makes you think that I care again? What makes you think I'm interested? I'm not Lillian, I have moved on"
"I still love you, Dylan, I had to travel all the way from London to see you, can't you see?" She pouted, making puppy eyes. As she moved close to me
"What happened to your phone? You didn't even text. Perhaps someone over there kept you busy." I rolled my eyes. Deep inside me, I was feeling really bad. I just don't want to show her my weak side. I want to show her that I'm strong now, a changed person. Aside from that, my heart is bleeding.
She moved backwards and began stuttering "Emmm. Of a truth, I had a boyfriend." She kept fidgeting.
"Immediately, you got there, right? Forgetting totally about me."
"He was way different from you and I couldn't help but miss you, I broke up with him when I couldn't handle him some months ago. After that, I came over here to be with you, remember the good old times Dylan, I knew how you lavished your love on me, just give me one more chance. I love you, Dylan." I looked at her and saw her eyes misty already.
"I won't say things are back to the way it was, we are not in any official relationship, but you are free to hang out with me for now," I said with a blank expression.
She gushed, stood up and hugged me as she walked back to her seat, I dusted myself and rolled my eyes. Drama queen, Tsk!
After some minutes, I listened to her blabbing about lots of things and some I couldn't help but laugh. It was nice, I recalled good old times when we were like this, playing, snuggling, discussing and doing whatever we wanted genuinely or maybe it was only genuine for me.
"Seems like you have a fan, huh?" She smirked and sipped some yoghurt. "What?" I asked.
"A waiter has been stealing glances at you or who I say admiring you" She gasped. "Oops, she left."
I shrugged her talk off as we continued with our previous discussion.
Later, We left the restaurant. "Thanks, Dylan" she yelled.
"You are welcome." I said smiling, I remembered all our good times and it was really fun. She walked up to me and pulled me into a hug. Actually, I miss her, her scent and everything. Her hair emitted strawberries. I tightened my arms around her a bit. We were interrupted by the sound of something towards the corners of the restaurant. Disengaging the hug, we entered my car and I hit the road.
Nora's Pov
I came outside to dispose of some wraps, when I saw Dylan, hugging the blondie girl passionately. I couldn't help but stare, jerk!
My tray fell out of my hand generating some noise. Picking the tray, I swiftly went inside to avoid being seen by the two love birds.
"Becca, I'll be leaving now!" I said while changing into my initial clothes.
"See you tomorrow" she replied while packing her hair.
I went home sluggishly. Luckily, Stacy was still awake.
"hi!" she stood up and hugged me. How was your day? She asked
"Fine" I shrugged.
She nudged me and I went into the room.
"Sooo tired!"
"Go take a shower baby girl!" She yelled with my little strength. I showered and changed into my pyjamas.
NEXT MORNING
I walked into the school alone, Stacy left because she had a class earlier than mine.
I felt someone tap me, turning I saw Dylan smiling and I frowned immediately.
"That isn't how to start a Good morning!" He said with a frown.
I huffed and tried to walk past him instead he walked past me and stood in front of me, blocking my way.
"What?" He asked.
"Huh?" I asked confused
"Why are you so mean to me? Did I do anything wrong?"
"For the records, I said "sorry" and Fyi, I'm not the "sorry" type. he bragged.
I rolled my eyes at him. "Excuse me! I want to pass" I exclaimed
I saw a glint of sadness in his eyes, I felt sad but I couldn't control the anger within me and I don't even know why I'm acting this way.
He gasped "I wanted you to show me around the school yesterday but you declined. Care to show me today?" He ruffled his hair as he asked.
"I... I have a.... emm." I stuttered
He held my hands and pleaded "just this once, I understand you don't want me around but just today, I will be in the hallway and I'm looking forward to seeing you."
My eyes widened and I could hear my heart race so quickly. I stiffened while he talked. He let go of my hands and walked away.
"What does he want? What is he doing to me? He has a girlfriend already." My inner mind yelled
Ryan sat beside me today. He took pictures of all I have written in the previous classes before they transferred. He's a fun person to be with but I noticed that he's more of an introvert. He has his headphones and novels, that's enough for him. We had a conversation because we sat together and the note stuff. I remembered Dylan and moved out of the class after saying bye to Ryan. A girl sat beside him and I wonder what is making her giggle so much. Tsk!. I got to the hallway, seeing me he smiled.
"Ok! Let the tour begin." I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
"We went to different parts of the university and met different people."
"Thanks for showing me around" I looked at him and a smile escaped my lips. "You look cute when you smile." He retorted
My face turned red and I'm sure he noticed that... "I...I got to go" I stuttered pointing at the door.
"Wait! Why have you been mean to me lately?" He walked closer to me with his brows knitted
"I don't want to get into trouble with your blondie girlfriend." I blurted, regretting that immediately.
"What? She's not my girlfriend, maybe... but how do you know about that?" He asked confused
"Sorry" I ran off immediately leaving him as confused as ever.
