The next day - Dylan's pov
I woke up this morning to receive a good morning message from Lillian. I can't believe I'm enjoying Lillian's company, I didn't expect things to turn out this way. I thought everything would have been over but... Anyway what's there to lose? Not like I've already found a new girlfriend. When I was done preparing, I left for school and headed to my class. After few hours when the lectures were done. I moved to Ryan's class to see him. It's been quite a while. We discussed about a few things, about girls, his music career and family. I saw Nora leaning on her desk. I smiled and waved at her before leaving the class. I was at the gate when I sighted Lillian from afar, she was putting on a big white t-shirt over a jeans bum short with her white boots and sunglasses. Her lips glitters as usual. She turned to me as her earrings dangled. Standing abruptly, she leaned over to me for tight hug.
"Hi Dearie" I've missed you so much, she pushed her mouth to a pout.
"I'm here as you can see." I smiled looking at her. I gently pushed her face with my index finger because her face was way too close.
" Let's go to the amusement park, I want to play a little." She whined
"Urgh! Let's go home first, after a little rest then, we can go by 7pm. That's when the fun begins. Have you forgotten already? She made an "o" sound and agreed with me.
"Okay, let's get going home" she held my hand, dragging me to my car. I grinned and entered the car with her.
Nora's pov
I saw Dylan enter the class to meet Ryan. I adjusted my gown and cleaned my face a little. I leaned on my desk, waiting for him to come over and probably greet me as usual. To my greatest dismay, Dylan waved at me smiling and left the class. My bones weaken and my eyes became gloomy.
"Oh no! Seems like I have expected much from him. We ain't that close friends, right?
I packed my stuff and headed home to prepare for today's work. After dressing up, I dragged myself to the restaurant. Today, being the last day of the month, is the PAY DAY, one couldn't be more excited but I wasn't, was quite sad for no reason. I went to the changing room, brought out my apron and hair net. Folded my clothes and kept it. I went straight to the grill.
Today's work wasn't that bad, maybe that's because I was in the kitchen if not those irresponsible rich men may have done something unpleasant.
"Nora! Mrs Wilson wants to see you in the next 5minutes" a girl informed me
"Thanks Shannon." I yelled. I rushed to Mrs Wilson's office and luckily for me, I received my complete pay. I greeted her wholeheartedly and left for the house.
When I got home, I could see Hudson playing from away. I smiled broadly and called out to him.
"Hudson!... He ran into my arms as I held him tightly. "I've missed you, sis." Said Hudson
I handed him a small white nylon. He opened it and smiled broadly. "Best sis ever" He yelled
Still engrossed with the toys and chocolate, I bought for him. I looked around and with no sigh of my parents. I asked, "Where's mom and dad?
"They left with Aunt Daisy for a brief meeting." He mumbled with all his concentration on his new stuff.
"I hope nothing went wrong? Or did you trouble anyone?"
"Nah, sis." He frowned. "Everyone knows that am a good kid in this neighborhood"
I patted his head "I trust you baby bro." He giggled and ran inside.
I moved to my room and plopped down on the bed so tired. Hudson opened the door and got in
"Big sis?" He called
"Huh?" I raised up my head and looked at him.
"Can you do me a favour?" He asked
"Ok..." I sat down to listen to whatever he had to say.
"Emmm...My classmates were talking about how fun the amusement park is, I didn't utter a word because I know nothing about it. Someone even made a joke of me out of it." He said sadly.
I breathed out. "Seems like you're one lucky boy, I presume. I got paid today and have few hours to myself, no work today. So, I don't see any reason why you won't go to the park today." I replied
"Today?" He held his face, forming and "o" with his mouth, looking as excited as ever.
"Thanks big sis" he ran to me and embraced me.
"Actually, this is for your hard work, behaviour and cuteness, I want to see more of these next time. I patted his head gently. Go on, go put one of your nicest clothes, I ain't gonna wait for you if you come out late... I teased"Wait for me sis!" He yelled.
We got to the amusement park. I looked at Hudson whose face was covered with smiles. "What's this sis? He pointed out
"That's a roller coaster." I said as he giggles. "You wanna try? I asked and he nodded.
Getting there, a lot of kids could be seen with their parents,dressed nicely. Some with ice-cream and cotton candy. At the other side of the park were distant benches in the park, occupied by couples. Playing games, holding hands, even smooching. I've never been kissed and someone is smooching freely. Not my problem, anyway. I scoffed. After the ride on the roller coaster, we procured some cotton candy, ice-cream, hot dogs and of course chocolates, I can't miss that for the world. A shop could be seen near by, filled with stuffed animals. You get one shot, you get one stuffed animal. Hudson, pointed at a huge teddy bear. He wanted me to aim for that.
"Here we go Missy." the man moved backwards to allow me, shoot my shot. After series of trail, gosh! I got a stuffed animal but it was medium sized and Hudson couldn't love it more, despite not being the one he wanted.
I held Hudson as we moved amongst people in the park. Being totally tired, we sat on a bench. The park is so beautiful, the kids alongside their moms and dads, I bet childhood would've been fun if I did get to enjoy this, it's quite unfortunate that I couldn't get all this. Hudson is sure one lucky kid. I looked at him as he plays with his stuffed animal. He's like my child and I cherish him so much.
"Hanna!" I called as a young girl stopped, she walked to me, smiling while she pats Hudson's head lightly.
"Oh cutie hudson, growing every day" she replied.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
She giggled "my boyfriend decided to take me out today, you know our first date"
"Oh I see, I bet you're having a great time." I asked again
"More than I can ever imagine, I want to check something up there, see you later and greet dad and mom for me. She bent down and cupped Hudson's cheeks "bye baby boy" she stood and left
"Sis? Hudson called
"Huh?
"Why don't you have a boyfriend?
"Huh? I asked quite perplexed
"She just said her boyfriend brought her here, when will your boyfriend take you out?" He asked with all seriousness.
"Ah! Snap out of it Hudson, don't worry about big sis, she can take care of herself" I smiled and I'm sure that wasn't what he was expecting for an answer. Alot of people sure have fun in places like this, I thought.
"I think it's time to go home, big guy" He nodded and we stood up. Being all excited, he ran and bumped into someone.
This is bad" I thought and ran towards him "I'm sorry if he stained your clothes, raising up my head I could see Dylan, with his fingers interwined with a girl "the blondie girl"
"Don't worry" He assured and was shocked to see me too. Hudson moved back and hid behind me.
"Dylan!" I smiled, "Emm, Oh this is my baby brother" I introduced Hudson who poked out his head and waved at Dylan.
"He's looking more like your son" Lillian chuckled. Dylan looked at me and let out an awkward smile.
"This is Lillian, Lillian, this is Nora, my friend from school" he introduced
"Nice to officially meet you... Lillian." I brought out my hand for a shake and she nudged my hand.
"Have you guys met before?" Dylan asked surprised
Before I could utter a word" I....l
"Yeah!" She cut me off.
" In the restaurant. She spilled some sauce on me" She said pretending to sound so good.
"Oops, sorry about that" I apologized
She rolled her eyes and scoffed. Can we start going Dylan? Our car must be waiting. She pulled Dylan lightly, turning he waved and Hudson waved too. I stood still with this feeling like my heart broke into two. I wished I didn't see them. I felt like crying. This shouldn't be happening, why am I feeling this way? This isn't right.
"Sis? Sis? He pulled my gown a little. "Ain't we going home again? He asked
Sure dear, I cleaned my face and sniffed.
