Chapter 4
DYLAN'S POV CONTINUES
Hearing her voice made me so angry
"What's it now?" I furrowed my brows waiting for whatever trash she wanted to spew.
"That's not how to welcome a friend, not alone your girlfriend." She said in defence.
"Ex" girlfriend, I reminded her. "You broke up with me in our 11th grade, in front of everyone remember?" I asked loudly.
"Come on Dylan. I'm in town, care for a drink?" She offered sweetly.
I kept mute "No" I finally replied. " Lillian just please stay away from me.
"Please Dylan, it's been a long time and I want to see you." She pleaded.
"Like you care? I hope you still remember everything" I mumbled.
"I'll explain Dylan, please, meet me at the park by 6 pm. Love you" she yelled. I rolled my eyes and plugged in my phone to charge it. I stood up and stared at the wall clock. It was 5:25 pm. Even though I was pretty angry with her, I was slightly happy she called, a part of me still loves her while a greater part hates her. I huffed and opened my wardrobe, confused about what to wear. Later I picked a black hoodie and grey joggers with my jandal.
Well, that's Lillian, She's the only child of the renowned politician, Marley, the senator. My high school crush. Back then in 6th grade, I was head over heels for her. She was the most popular girl in school, beautiful, intelligent, fair, name it, but she was a bit sassy and mean.
Luck shone on me when I knew that my dad and her father were business partners. Ever since then, we become close and my dreams finally came true. During our prom night in the 7th grade, I went to her house as any nice gentleman in love would and gave her a lift to school.
#Flashback
* Are they a couple now?
* Dylan's so handsome, what's he doing with that mean-ass girl?
* I wish I were her
* I love you, Lillian!
* Dylan just look at me a little.
Voices could be heard in the hallway until we got to prom hall. The disco lights glittered, There were different colours everywhere. Students were in their best outfits. When it was time for us to waltz, I became the happiest guy alive. After the dance, I led her outside to receive the fresh air. We discussed and giggled at every word. At a point, she leaned closer to me and gave me a quick kiss on the lips. I was flabbergasted. She saw my countenance and chuckled. I mean it was so good to be true. After the prom night, later next week, we became a high school couple, it was a blast. People envied us but who cares?
In our 11th grade, I overheard my dad and hers in a meeting talking about Lillian going over to London to stay with her mom tomorrow. I was shocked, Lillian never told me of that. I dialled her number but she wasn't picking up. For some days now, we haven't been on good terms, quarrelling for God knows what? Teen love issues. I met her in school and tried talking to her.
"Lillian! Lillian!" I called, she was still walking when I held unto her arm. "Lillian please, wait!" She turned and gave me this glare with arms crossed over her chest.
"What!" She exclaimed
"What am I hearing about you travelling tomorrow? I mean you never mentioned it." I stared at her intently, wishing those were lies.
"I'm travelling Dylan, I'm going to see mom, thanks to her, I'm leaving this Godforsaken city." She expounded, rolling her eyes.
"What about us? What about me?" My eyes grew weak as beady sweats roll down my face
"Jeez, Dylan! grow up, you are not a baby anymore. Wait! I should leave my ticket to wonderland to get stuck with you... Like here." She twirled her fingers with a disgusted look. "Yuck!"
Meanwhile, our petty drama began creating a lot of attention and being the talk of the school, students started gathering to see what was happening with the famous couple.
My eyes became misty. All this while, does it mean she never really cared. I love her, I really love her, what's all this drama? I thought to myself
I saw devouring eyes all over. "Lillian, can you meet me outside for a sec, please?" I pleaded with her. My knees trembled, I couldn't amidst students
"No" Her hands were crossed over her chest. It was evident from the look in her eyes that she was not ready to give me a listening ear.
"What?" I furrowed my brows, staring blankly at her.
"You know what Dylan? I've always wanted to tell you before now but I didn't want to hurt your petty emotions..." She scoffed
"Wait? What's she trying to do?" I became astonished
She inhaled hard and continued" we are done, Dylan!. I mean it's over." She dropped the bombshell and cat-walked her way out of the students.
I stood there like a statue, flashes from people's phones glittered. Murmuring and chatters could be heard, laughing and mockery too. Ryan paved his way to where I was frozen and led me out
#present time
With hands in my hoodie, I saw her seated on a bench in the park with legs crossed. No doubt, she's one pretty chick, she wore a short red gown, with V-neck showing off her cleavages, and her blonde hair was packed perfectly while some strands fell on her face. Her lips with red colour obviously from her lipstick. Is she trying to seduce me or what? I scoffed
Seeing me, she removed her fancy glasses and stood up, smiling as ever. She approached me and placed a soft kiss on my cheeks.
"You are such a sweetheart for coming. Dylan!" I was fuming in anger and rolled my eyes at her. "Where are we going?" I asked.
"Before you came, I went online and searched for nice restaurants in the city." 5-star restaurant" "Blossom Crystal" and "Erick's Lounge" were the first- third." She said staring steadily at me.
"What next?" I remarked rudely.
"Emm, let's go to 5-star restaurant! The comments below were nice. She giggled. Com'on smile Dylan." She caressed my cheeks, looking at me. "Ok!" I let a fake smile and moved backwards before something cheesy happens.
"Let's take my car!" I said and we left for the car.
Getting to the compound, different types of vehicles were already packed obviously belonging to rich men.
Different ladies in corporate ears move swiftly attending to the customers. A man in a tuxedo led us to a fancy table. We sat down and a lady rushed to us with a menu card. Handling the menu card to us, Lillian glanced at it and made an order, and so did I.
Nora's Pov
I went straight to the store room and used the keys inside my purse to open my locker. Thank heavens, Ryan recovered my purse, if not my salary will be deducted for not working because I can't serve with ordinary clothes. I put on my white shirt and black skirt. The skirt looked a little short. I am not working on the grill today so I have nothing to do with the hair net and apron. Ready to go, I winked and grinned while taking a glance at the gigantic mirror.
"Hi, Becca!" I greeted
"How were lectures today?" She asked tying the apron straps. She is my nice co-worker, Becca.
"Nice, I'll get going Becca. Meet you later. " I smiled and left the room.
People trooped in, lots of them. This is one of the busiest restaurants in town. If you don't serve fast you are sure to get scolded by the mean-looking Mrs Wilson with a mole above her lips. She should be in her mid-40s
"Nora! The man at table 16 needs to be served, go and attend to him." Miss Olivia ordered who happens to be the head lady, so nice and polite.
"Yes ma'am" I left
After taking orders from the huge man who I guess should be around his forties. He stared at me lustfully and I grimaced. I was about to leave when I heard a familiar voice, I turned to see DylanDownload Novelah App
