"Self defense mechanism you say....then if she feels threatened it will appear again"
She glanced at Ada signaling her and then the room went pitch black. More like, everything around me is pitch black except for the chair that I'm sitting on. Right when I was about to stand, a stinging pain came to my head. It felt so heavy and my eyes weren't able to stay open.
"What....is happening"
I passed out. It's either that or I got kidnapped and they brought me to a weird looking place. Compared to the dream before this looks much open, like an endless space.
There wasn't any nature here but the sun shined ever so brightly. The ground beneath me looked weird. It was grey like rocks but they still shined a silvery hue. After wandering around for a few minutes, a shrine began to appear in the distance.
The shrine was not well built. The structure looks as though it had been damaged but it still looked majestic under the sunlight and the shining rocks.
"Purr"
There stood a lion. The only weird thing is that it's fur is made of flames and it was much, much larger than it usually is. It looked at me, but never made it's move towards me. It doesn't look harmful so I made my way towards it, step by step.
"Can you move any slower" I turned around, looking for the source of the voice.
"Are you blind"
I focused my attention back towards the lion. I went even closer and it never moved. Confused with what's happening, I thought of a dumb idea.
"Are you t-talking?" I asked the lion for it to sigh in the end.
"Took you long enough. You mortals are funny" As if suddenly earning flame aura wasn't enough . Now there's a talking lion, who is glowing and even three times it's normal size.
I quickly changed my direction, walking the opposite way. I've had enough to deal with in a day.
"Halt"
A wall appeared in front of me while some sort of force pushed me straight towards the lion. It stared me down, it's eyes big and glowy.
"You're here for a reason and I do not have much time with you"
Those words made me stop trying to run away. I'm here for a reason? Not enough time?
"Those powers you obtained are because you are of my bloodline. Your mother, was one of my descendants"
"What. Then why have I been the only one with this power? What about my siblings?"
"They are not worthy. I am aware of your past with them"
He knows but how? I did my best to keep it at a minimum. Not even the servants at home know about it. I wonder if he could be like a celestial being? It makes much more sense.
"I see but.....why me?"
"You are someone who is burning with ambition and strive to protect the people around you"
We spent our time talking with each other. I have no idea about how long I've been there but if there was an option, I would prefer just to stay here.
I also got to know that he's name is Zorus and he is the guardian of this abode. He informed me of a darkness that's spreading within the country. He said to be careful of the people I meet since I had already made contact with one.
Zorus has not much time left in this place as he has to handle affairs elsewhere. In return, to accompany me, he had sent his apprentice. A young cat, who also has flame like fur and whose name is Zorul.
I was told that to fit with our mortal surrounding, Zorul will adjust his appearance later on and look like an ordinary cat instead. I bid my farewells and left the shrine.
Only to remember I have no idea as to how to get out again. I ran back to the shrine to see Zorus about to leave through a portal.
"Wait! Hold on!" I ran back and Zorus turned around to face me.
"You don't know how to get out do you?"
I smiled and scratched the back of my head, embarrassed. I followed him out the portal and returned back to the princess's study. Or at least the remains of it.
The place was severely burnt as there was smoke and marks of being burnt. But Ada and Her Highness was nowhere to be seen until I heard a click from behind me. Revealing both Ada and Her Highness coming out from what seems to be a safe room.
"Knock her out, Ada" Ada heeded Her Highness's command and sent a spell flying my way, knocking me out completely.
My head hurts. It feels like I got smashed on the head with a solid rock. Perhaps there's a spell such as this? Ugh
I tried getting up but I couldn't move. I was tied to a chair, avoiding my legs and hands from moving. Even my sword was gone and my armor was taken off. By the looks of it, this is the interrogation room we brought the intruder to. Why am I here?
I heard people arguing outside. I could make out a few of the voices. Ada, the princess, Kaylee and Sebastian? Just what is going on here.
Let's see, when I was attacked by supposedly Ada, my mind went blank and I enter the abode of Zorus. When I came back, the princess's study was burnt but I did not feel the burn at all. So, where did the fire come from?
The voices began coming closer and closer to me. The door opened revealing Ada, Kaylee, Sebastian and Her Highness. They were surprised to see me awake. The four of them stood in front of me, looking at me warily.
"Uhh...Hey?" I croaked out. Goodness, the atmosphere is really awkward right now.
"Did you set fire to Her Highness's study?" Kaylee pleaded
"No. I did not" I was honest with my answer. I didn't want them to hate me after everything we've done together.
"How so" Her Highness is the same as she was before we had the conversation in her study.
"It is true when I said it was my first time seeing it but I have concluded that anytime it happens I feel.....a sort of burn in me"
Ada and Her Highness were deep in thought but Kaylee and Sebastian stood there confused. They must be thinking that I'm crazy. They were too long in thought so I told them what had happened when I got 'knocked out'.
After explaining, Kaylee and Sebastian understood although Kaylee had a twinkle in her eyes just like I had with Ada earlier on. Under Her Highness's order, those who were present in the room will not reveal information on the events that had happened today as well as my sudden flame manifestations.
