Chapter 9 - Gossip

Veera's POV
When I opened my eyes in the morning, the first thing I noticed was Mr. Bo's sleeping face in front of mine. It took me a while to grasp the circumstance I found myself in this morning.
Gazing at Mr.face Bo's intently, he is incredibly gorgeous and distinct from Aji, even though they are twins, I can tell the difference since I am looking at his face closely right now. His lashes were long, his complexion was pale, and his lips were rosy.
"Are you done gazing at my face, Ven?" he murmured.
I was astonished that I pulled his body away from me and that Mr.Bo had fallen uncomfortably onto the bed in his back.
"That hurts Ven!" he said, his voice trembling.
"I-I'm sorry! It's your fault for startling me!" I say as I stare down at him on the floor.
"Yeah, my bad, sorry," he said, also apologizing to me.
The door to the room suddenly burst open, and the children stepped inside, frightened looks on their faces as they gazed about the room.
"Are you okay, Miss Veera?! Did someone attack you?" both children inquire, concerned.
"No one attacked me, don't worry children," I said with a smile.
"Where is my smile, too?" Mr.Bo questioned, his voice irritated.
Huh? What is he talking about so early in the morning?
"What do you mean, Boon?" I questioned.
"Ven, you smiled at those scoundrels when they walked in, but you didn't smile at me when you opened your eyes!" he grumbled.
"I don't understand your Boon," I stated once more.
"He's envious that Mister didn't get a smile from you, Miss Veera," both kids remarked at the same time.
Jealous? I don't think that's what he meant, but I should get out of bed and get ready for the day that's coming.
"Did something happen between you and Mister last night, Miss Veera?" both kids questioned innocently.
I was taken aback by the question both kids had posed to me, "what? Nothing happened last night?" I instantly disputed that nothing had happened last night.
"Really, then, why are you in the same room as mister?" they said again, suspiciously.
And it was then that I comprehended and remembered what had transpired the night before, which caused my face to flush with humiliation.
"Oh this one? I fell down while I was waking him up, right Boon!" I instantly responded with an explanation.
"W-what we clearly sleep to-" he didn't finish his sentence when I stared at him.
"I mean, Ven merely woke me awake when she tumbled down the bed," he hastily corrected himself.
The kids glance at us both, trying to figure out if we're lying to them by looking at our expressions. "And then why are you on the floor, Mister?" they questioned again to Mr.Bo.
"Ah, this I fell while sleeping last night, and that's why Ven was startled that it made her fall in my bed due to the shock of seeing me on the floor," he explained.
"Oh, really alright if that's what occurred, if it was the other way around, we won't protest or anything because both of you are adults," both children remarked. "By the way, Mrs.Payne asked us to call you both for breakfast," they continued.
"All right, we'll follow you," I said.
Both children just nodded in agreement and exited the room. Leaving the two of us alone once more.
"So, when are you going to give me my reward, Ven?" he teasingly said.
When I heard him utter the word reward, it reminded me of what had happened the night before, when he gripped me tightly until he fell asleep in my arms. How we slept together all night till daylight. This caused me to flush in humiliation once again.
I got out of bed and grabbed a pillow off the bed, tossing it at him. I dashed out of the room and into my own bedroom.
Damn it, why didn't I realize we'd been sleeping together for the entire night and I'd fallen asleep waiting for him to let go of my body?
Stupid Veera!
After gathering my thoughts inside the room, I walked downstairs to the breakfast table to eat.
"Good morning, Miss Veera!" the kids said as they were already sat in their respective chairs.
"Good morning, miss. Please take your seat and have your food," Mrs. When Payne came out of the kitchen, she also greeted me with a good morning.
"Good morning, everyone," I said with a smile.
"How about me, where is my good morning greeting?" Mr. Bo said, his voice gloomy.
I sat in my own chair and didn't react to his query. Don't bother talking to me; I'm still mad at you!
"Oh, Miss Veera ignored Mister; did you do something wrong to Miss Veera?" Mr.Bo was asked by both kids.
Yes, he did it, kids, and he deserves to be ignored.
"I didn't do anything wrong to her, so mind your own business, kids," Mr.Bo reacted with anger.
He's a liar, he did something bad, and you shouldn't believe him.
"Yep, he truly did something horrible to Miss Veera, Good luck Mister," the kids agreed, before beginning to eat.
It all depends on what he does to make up for what he did to me.
"I claimed I didn't do anything wrong," Mr. Bo defended himself once more.
Wrong again, continue to deny it and you will be ignored indefinitely.
"Forever?" Mr.Bo exclaimed in wonder in the air..
Everyone glanced at him, perplexed as to why he had yelled so loudly in front of us. He didn't say anything and returned to eating his own food, his expression irritated.
"Miss, the whispers about Mr.Nacht being back in the home were all over town," Mrs.Payne said as she stepped out of the kitchen.
"Oh, well, it's bound that pervert would notify everyone that he's returning to exact his vengeance on how we embarrassed him yesterday," I told her.
"Well, as I heard some say when I was in the wet market, they don't trust his back, so they're preparing to go in this house to confirm it," Mrs.Payne stated about what he heard around.
Immediately after Mrs. Payne completed speaking those words, we heard a knock on our front door, which caused us all to turn our heads in that way.
"Perhaps that's them," the kids speculated.
Mr.Bo gave me a devilish look and stated excitedly, "It's show time!"
I just ignored him and got out of my chair to check who had knocked on our door. When I came in front of the door, I instantly opened it.
"Hello Mrs. Nacht, I heard your husband has returned after being gone for years," Mrs. Stem said as I answered the door.
"Yes, he's returned; do you have any business with him?" I questioned.
"We simply want to welcome him back to town," she said, smiling broadly.
Oh, really, or you simply want to embarrass me by claiming that I lied about it? I am aware of your plans to arrive at the residence early in the morning.
"Oh Ven, we have some visitors?" Mr.Bo whispered in my back, taking on the role of my pretend husband.
"Yes, Boon, they wish to welcome you back to town," he said, smiling warmly at Mr Bo.
"Oh, is that so, Honey?" he asked, coming into my back and wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing my neck softly.
What the heck happened? Why did he kiss my neck when there was no reason for him to go that far? I was irritated by what he did, but I merely put up with it for a few minutes to appear pleasant in front of these visitors who came to visit the house.
"Boon that ticklish, please behave, we are in front of the visitors honey" I sweetly pretended to scold him with a fake smile on my lips.
"Oh, sorry Ven, I just can't stop thinking about what we did last night together; it's been a long," he remarked to me again.
What the heck, why would he mention what occurred last night, he's mocking about what happened last night?
"Boon, please stop making our visitors uncomfortable," I reprimanded him once again.
Well what I said is true because the way they show their shock expression in front of me our plan to deceive them had worked.
"Oh, I'm sorry, and thank you for welcome me back; I'm glad to be back at last with my wonderful wife," Mr.Bo remarked with a nice grin.
"Y-your welcome," they all murmured in unison, still enchanted by Mr.Bo.
I didn't know that they will really believe that he is my husband immediately it is as if they were cast a spell as they look at Mr.Bo in a weird way. Well whatever I am glad they believed it and not causing any problems.
"Do you still have business with us Mrs. Stem?" I asked her again and also her companions.
Mrs. Stem finally regained consciousness, saying, "oh, I have no more business here, we should go back to our house."
"Okay, please be careful on your way back, Mrs.Stem," I added as they eventually walked away.
I turned to face Mr.Bo, who had a satisfied expression on his face. While I was upset and angry with him, I stomped on his feet forcefully, causing him to scream in pain.
"You deserve that jerk!" I said him as I walked away from him in front of the door.
You dare to tease me in front of people? Mr.Bo, you're a jerk!
Bo's POV
When she abandoned me in front of the door after Veera stamped my foot so hard, although it wasn't that painful, I pretended it was.
"Hmmm...mister Miss Veera will continue to despise you if you treat her like that," the kids appeared in front of me.
I stared at them and said, "Mind your own business, dogs."
They glanced at me with pained eyes, but quickly changed to a serious face. "If you just stop tormenting Miss Veera, she would certainly like you Mister," both kids stated again, and then hurried away from me.
