Chapter 13: The new Beginning

**Mellic/Asna PoV**
I was startled when I was about to fall, but someone suddenly caught me.
"Sir Leo?" I exclaimed in surprise.
"It's not time to be stubborn, Princess Asna. I'm a knight; my responsibility is to protect royalty, including you."
"Sir Leo, I’m also concerned for Princess Asna, but I need you to assess the village because there might be an assassin trying to kill me—"
"I’m also her, Princess Asna. I can protect you!" Venom interjected, along with Levi and the other two male leads.
"Yes, I know, but I think it would be more comfortable if we were all together, right? You can just call the other knights to bring them here." How greedy you are! Are you a sl*ut?
I thought Sir Leo would set me down, but he walked over to Yna while carrying me as if I were a bride.
"I know, princess, but I think Princess Asna has serious wounds. If we wait for the knight to arrive, she might lose too much blood." What are you doing? You were supposed to agree with Yna, right?
"From what I said before—" I was about to continue when suddenly a man shouted.
"ARE YOU GOING TO ARGUE THERE?! PEOPLE ARE D*YING HERE! TREAT US ALREADY!" the man yelled.
"I'm sorry, Princess Yna." Yna smiled a fake smile, but I could see her irritation and anger towards me.
"It's okay, Sir Leo." I noticed that Sir Leo’s ears turned red, which made me feel a bit flattered!
He stepped away, and I bit his arm, causing me to fall. That hurt, damn it! But I stood up, rolled my eyes in front of them, and flipped my hair.
"I can walk, Sir Leo. If you feel sorry for my condition, I appreciate that, but Yna needs you more because her security isn’t sufficient yet. I somewhat understand her. Who wouldn’t be interested in a Saint? She's a treasure of this empire, so there’s no need for you to take responsibility for me. I’m not someone who relies on others."
"And also, she’s too ignorant and weak to handle these things. I worry that she might do something stupid." I noticed Yna clenching her fists. Are you getting angry? I haven't even started; that was just a taste. How boring...
"You’re too vicious, Princess Asna. Please be careful with your words; that might be the reason for your downfall. Even if you’re so mean to me, I can’t help but worry about you." There was a hint of warning in his voice. I smiled at him insultingly.
"That was so touching but too dramatic. You’re probably overdoing your kindness, you might get sick." He suddenly recoiled while covering his mouth.
"Are you threatening me, Princess Asna?" He pretended to be scared.
"Don't worry, Princess Yna. If something bad happens to you, Princess Asna will be the one to blame." Levi chimed in, being an idi*ot.
I laughed at what I heard; this girl was too dramatic, making Asna look like a villain. Why shouldn't I do that?
I approached her and intended to slap her hard, but Venom stopped me, which only made me angrier.
"How dare you!" His eyes glinted fiercely as he looked at me. I smirked at him. It was so satisfying that I forgot my feelings for Venom because of what he did now. I was so pissed to the point that I wanted to hate him for the rest of my life; it all vanished suddenly.
I slapped him with my right hand, shocking everyone.
"Why did you grab my hand without my permission? Who do you think you are?" My eyes glinted fiercely too, but he still didn’t let go of my hand.
I tried to pull away from him, but he suddenly pulled me closer. I could feel his grip tightening on my hand; it felt like my bones would break.
We ended up in a narrow space...
He let go of me, and I noticed he seemed unable to breathe and was in pain. Then I saw the tattoo on his neck slowly disappearing.
I stood still, but at the same time, I was panicking. When the tattoo vanished, he looked at me, but there was something different in his gaze.
"My Eve..." I was startled when he hugged me. What the!? What kind of nonsense is this!? I pushed him hard, managing to escape and distancing myself.
"What the f*ck are you doing?" I said angrily. But I noticed his expression turned sad.
"My Eve... Why do I feel like I've never seen you in a long time?" He approached me and inhaled the strands of my hair while staring into my eyes.
No! This can't be happening!
Don't tell me the potion has worn off? But that potion lasts forever, right?
"Why are you so dazed, Princess Asna? Are you thinking about another man?" What the f**k kind of scene is this? Why does it feel like I'm always being surprised or is it just coincidence?
I couldn't speak... I glanced behind me to see Princess Yna reciting something in another language, then looked at Venom, who was holding his head until he collapsed in front of me.
Princess Yna approached my direction and took out a small vial. I was shocked to see it was the same potion that the Marquis made Venom drink to completely forget me.
"I won’t allow you to take Venom away. Venom is mine too." Venom’s body appeared in the air, following Yna.
How greedy... If I wanted to take Venom, he couldn’t stop me, but I had no interest in him anymore even if he came back. I wanted this, so I would do it; there’s no turning back, and besides, Venom is not my concern. He’s just an obstacle in my life.
But sometimes I thought about confronting Yna, but I didn’t do it because I didn’t want any trouble; it was fine to just keep it verbal. Once I return to the mansion, I’ll heal the Grand Duke and leave...
This is my chance to experience a peaceful life. I start my own journey after all this.
If Yna interferes in my life... I’ll make sure she experiences hell. I’ve tolerated everything she’s done because it would cause a huge mess if I got involved with her.
This is my chance; I won’t waste it.

**Mellic/Asna PoV**
I left that place and returned to the mansion, thankfully my wounds had healed due to these healing powers. The maids welcomed me and paid their respects.
I immediately went to the Grand Duke’s chamber and found Violet assisting the Grand Duke with his meal. I noticed that Violet loved the Grand Duke dearly, even though he had done something terrible to her.
"Asna, what happened to your dress? Why is it so dirty?" I stared at Violet for a long time because I wouldn’t see her again after this.
"It’s none of your business, bitch!" I raised my eyebrow, and of course, she wouldn’t back down.
"Who are you calling a b*itch? You haven’t tasted a slap this early!" she replied. I really missed this! Arguing with Violet.
"Then do it if you can?" But we stopped when we heard the Grand Duke laugh in front of us.
"I just thought you both act like children when you argue." Violet stopped and continued to assist the Grand Duke with his meal.
"Do you need something, Asna?" the Grand Duke asked.
"I don’t know, but you won’t believe what I’m about to say. I think you can also heal like Princess Yna." They fell silent for a few minutes after my statement. But Violet spoke up, as if she hadn’t processed what I just said.
"W-what? Are you crazy, Asna? There can’t be two saints!" she exclaimed, even though I had no idea; the same was stated in the book; only Yna was the Saint in the story.
"I don’t know either, but can you explain what this is?" I placed my hand on the Grand Duke's forehead, and my hand glowed as if it were drawing something from the Grand Duke's body.
After a while, it stopped glowing, and Violet and I noticed that the Duke no longer looked sickly.
"Is that a miracle?" I just shrugged because I didn’t know either. I cleared my throat to get Violet's attention.
"I forgot to tell you that I’ll be leaving tomorrow since the Grand Duke has recovered, so it’s probably my time to go." I noticed Violet’s expression turned sad...
"Then leave whenever you want! I don’t even care if I never see you again! Good, now I can be bossy in this mansion... And— and—" She didn’t finish her sentence as she hugged me tightly. I hugged her back... This is the last time we’ll see each other...
"Take care of yourself, Asna." She said, and I stroked her hair to calm her down.
"Same to you, Violet; take care of yourself." I turned to the Grand Duke.
"Also, same to you, Grand Duke; take care of this family, including yourself." I saw him smile and rise from his bed. He hugged me lovingly, and suddenly, my tears came out.
"Take care of yourself, my daughter Asna." I noticed that I instinctively hugged the Grand Duke back. I remembered my father from my previous life.
"Thank you, papa."
I saw Xyn at the door, trying to hold back tears. I smiled to let him know it was okay to hug me too because this might be the last time I see them.
"We missed you, Asna," said Kuya Xyn, and they hugged me with all their love. For the first time in my life, I’ve never felt like this...
After what happened, I went to my chamber and had my things prepared for my departure tomorrow. I felt the weight I had been carrying lighten.
I looked at my hands... How did I acquire powers like Yna? Is there something I still don't know about this story? I went to the library to search for information about it.
I had a bit of difficulty finding anything about the magical book until something peculiar caught my attention—an unusual book. I picked it up and started reading.
I read about healing magic... There are two types of saints in this world: the Phenians and the Ellchités.
It says here that Phenians are chosen saints in the realm of humans, and indeed, Yna was chosen to be a saint in this world. However, the Ellchités are said to have the ability to heal any illness or even resurrect the dead. But the book states that over 600 years have passed without an Ellchité existing in the human realm, and only one has ever possessed that power. However, because that power was used for evil, the one who had it suddenly died, and their body vanished like smoke. Since then, that saint has not existed.
Ellchité? Could this power be Ellchité? How did I come to possess it? I read the book again and was disappointed that I couldn't find the reason for it.
Ellchités choose the people they should trust based on their interests; you may not see them, but they can see and watch you.
But when you possess the power of an Ellchité, temptation may come to deceive you completely.
I spoke unconsciously in my chamber.
"Tsk! Show yourself if you’re there! I know the truth, and you are behind this." I went back to reading the book.
Ellchités are not humans; they are orbs of light that enter a person's body without any signs. They cannot speak either.
Tsk! How advanced my thinking is; they don't even speak. Da*mn it! I thought a little person or maybe a fairy would suddenly appear, or perhaps a shadow would talk to me, but it turns out they are just floating orbs. Well done, Mellic! My intelligence has exceeded my imagination. So I was an Ellchité saint? What a sha*me! You possessed the wrong person!??
**Princess Yna PoV**
"Thank you, Yna, for bringing my child back." The Marquis expressed his gratitude, and I glanced at Venom, who was sound asleep from my spell.
"It was nothing, Marquis. Venom has also become close to me, so don’t think he’s just a bother to me." I smiled at the Marquis.
At first, I wasn't interested in Venom, but when I saw how he approached and courted Princess Asna, I suddenly found him appealing.
Since then, I've secretly followed him, and every time I saw him talking to Asna, he looked like a gentle beast in front of her. I trembled with anger!
When I found out that Venom liked me, I distanced myself from him because I was scared of his psychotic side, but suddenly, I became interested when I saw how well he treated Asna.
But right now, I don’t see the Venom that caught my interest. He’s like a puppet, just obeying whatever I say.
"And I hate it! But I want him by my side. I won’t let you get close to Princess Asna."
And about that woman, I can’t wait to k*ill her! How did she suddenly become so intelligent? I also no longer see jealousy in her eyes whenever I'm with Prince Levi; it seems indifferent to her when I show that I’m superior to her. Because I'm the treasure of this empire.
But now, if she looks at me, does she see me as inferior? Tsk! I will make sure you di*e of jealousy, Princess Asna, especially since I’m the only saint in this empire. I will show you how wo*rthless you are when I'm around.
I looked at Venom, who was still peacefully sleeping. I was tempted to kiss him. I covered my mouth because I couldn't suppress the thrill I felt. I don't know, but I think I’m starting to love Venom.
I just wondered what it feels like to be loved by the real Venom without the potion... As long as I can convince the Marquis to give Venom the potion, he will stay by my side. I just didn’t show Levi that I favored Venom more because I could still use him to become the true Empress of this empire, and when that happens...
I'll ki*ll him, and Venom and I will be happy forever.
**Mellic/Asna PoV**
"Goodbye, Asna, take care!" Violet said, tearing up as she spoke. The Grand Duke came closer to me and hugged me again.
"Take care, Asna." There was a hint of sadness in his words, so I smiled at them.
"Don't worry about me. I’ll make sure to take care." I was about to enter when the Grand Duke stopped me and handed me something. It was a beautiful pair of daggers.
"I asked Violet what weapon you preferred, and she told me you liked daggers, so I had this made." I took them and thanked the Grand Duke, then looked at Xyn, who had a very sad expression in his eyes.
But before I left, I made weapons for them. The butler handed it to me...
"This is my gift to you. Take care of yourselves. I’ll return when I’m ready to accept everything. For now, I just want to stay away." The carriage began to move, and I kept looking at them until they completely vanished from my sight.
I had already chosen a place far from the empire, and I thought it would take us about five days to reach that location.
It was indeed a five-day journey, and it was a bit dizzying; I missed the buses and trains when commuting. The bandits were amusing because when they saw me, it was as if they had seen a monster.
It felt wonderful to experience relief, like being far away from problems...
"Princess, we have arrived." The carriage driver announced. The sweet breeze greeted me. I immediately spotted the house I built; it wasn't too big, and it wasn't far from the capital of this area.
I walked towards my house, smiling because I felt the peace.
Finally, I got my freedom! I was truly delighted. I toured the entire area, and it wasn't bad either.
"I made it!" I cried as the realization sunk in that I was finally free. I couldn’t help but sob as I reflected on how long I had wanted this and thanked myself for enduring all the challenges I faced. I do my best to live happily.
