“Stop struggling, you’ll only get tired,” someone said and a girl emerged from I don’t know where. She probably saw how I was trying to get rid of the ropes that bind my hands and feet. “Ron tied you tightly, you won’t be able to free yourself from those.”
I stared at her and I can see the worry and fear in her eyes. “What do you need from me?” I asked calmly.
She walked towards me and sat on the armchair of the single-seater in front of me. “I don’t need anything from you, but Nica does,” and I felt cold at the mention of that name.
“Sorry, I didn’t know this is what she’s planning,” and I smiled lazily at her. She doesn’t look like a bad person, just someone easy to collude with. “Sorry because even if I want to free you from those, I can’t because I’m scared of her.”
I nodded and smiled to let her know that I understand her situation. Even I will be scared of Nica as she doesn’t seem normal, not at all.
After a while, I heard voices talking and it’s starting to grow louder. Jessie quickly stood up, took out her phone, and pretended to be checking something.
“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” Nica started as they got close to me. “I didn’t know you were the one who got picked!” then she laughed like she was out of her mind. “It would have been nicer if it was Drew, but you will do.”
A resounding slap was heard in the living room and I can hear the loud ringing in my ear. She squat in front of me and pulled my hair back. “Why are you so hardheaded! I gave you really simple instructions but you can’t even follow it!” she sneered.
“What do you want?” I asked bravely. You won’t even sense a hint of fear in my voice as I’m not really afraid of her. She should be thankful that I’m tied up.
“Drew, of course! He’s all I want but you just won't listen! Why do you even want such a scene?” she then let go of me harshly that I even heard the bones on my neck cracking.
“What do you think of him? A stuffed toy? A puppy that you can just ask for?” she turned to face me and smiled bitterly. “Ok, let’s say I followed you and I didn’t let Drew know about the pictures. Let’s say I stayed quiet and he became yours. Will you be happy knowing that I’m the one he loves?”
She was a bit taken aback by what I said. I was half hoping she’ll get her senses back but I was wrong.
Out of anger, she grabbed the golf club next to her and hit me with it. I turned to my side and the club almost hit my spine. The arm that was hit immediately felt numb.
What she did wasn’t enough though. She slapped me again several times until I can feel the blood on my lips.
Jessie stepped in, “Nica, that’s enough! Something might happen to her!” but Nica just glared at the poor girl.
“I’m very easy to deal with, Jessie. If she'll give up on Drew, like go somewhere else. Go out of the country so they won’t see each other again, then maybe I’ll have a change of mind and let her go.”
I shook my head in disbelief. She’s really out of her mind. “I love Drew and not you or anyone else can decide whether I’ll leave him or not. Even if I do, even if I abandon him, in the end, he’ll still come back to me. As I said, he loves me. Only me!”
Her vision must have darkened out of fury as she grabbed the empty vase next to me and hit my head with it. My vision blurred for several seconds and I felt dizzy.
I heard Jessie scream because of what she did and that made her stop. I, on the other hand, start to feel the flowing of warm liquid from my head to my face.
My vision's becoming a bit hazy. Maybe it’s my head got hit hard but I tried my best to stay alert. I don’t want to fall unconscious or I might end up somewhere no one can find me.
“I’ll do everything for you to stay away from Drw! Everything, even if I have to---” she yelled but wasn’t able to finish what she was saying as we heard the police siren. “Jessie, check outside,” she instructed and the girl quickly followed.
However, before Jessie can even reach the door, the police showed up. They took out their guns when they saw Nica holding a golf club.
She was about to run away but one of the policewomen jumped at her. They both fell on the floor but she got handcuffed anyway.

I run to Lemon when not one of them was moving. As soon as Nica was handcuffed, Lemon lost consciousness.
Even before that, I saw how she looked at us when we entered the house. Especially the way she looked at Drew with her sad eyes.
I tried shaking her when she slumped on the couch but she’s already blacked out. “Call the medic!” Homme instructed.
We lifted her and laid her on the couch she was sitting on earlier. She won’t fit properly but we have no choice.
After a while, the medic showed up with a stretcher. We helped them get her to it and they carried her to the ambulance.
I looked at the rest of the guys, one by one. They all looked sad and worried, especially Drew who is now sitting on the couch where Lemon was sitting earlier.
His face is covered by both hands with his shoulders shaking. He’s obviously crying and everyone knows why.
From Nica’s hideout, we went straight to the hospital. Her parents are already there as Kip called them earlier.
I sat on the chair close to her bed. Staring at her while her eyes are closed tightly. I let out a sigh and that caught my friends’ attention. Homme even pats my shoulder to calm me down.
Kip invited us out and everyone followed. We sat on the bench right by the entrance, not one of us talking.
After a while, Kip broke the silence. “Aunt Tori’s asking what happened to her,” he told us while staring at Drew. “I don’t even know what to tell them.”
Drew suddenly stood up, “I’ll talk to them, this is my fault anyway,” he said in a low voice.
“It’s because of your stupidity!” Homme spat at him and all our attention turned to him.
This is the first time he talked to Drew that way. Even back then, we’re already aware of Drew’s mischief, but Homme never talked to him the way he just did.
“I know…” Drew sighed. “I’ll do something about it.”
“Just make sure of that Drew. If something bad happened to her, I’ll forget we’re friends,” Homme then turned his back on us and went back in.
Kip gave Drew’s shoulder a light squeeze and he nodded at him. Even Drew can understand why Homme is acting that way toward him.
Lemon’s like a sister to us. Back then, it was just me. But as we go along, the same went for everyone else.
She’s very caring not just for our band members but for our families as well. That’s why even I can understand why Homme’s reacting that way.
We stayed out longer before we decided to go back to her room. Before doing so, we passed by the canteen of the hospital to buy something to eat.
Before we got in, we heard someone talking inside. When we opened the door, we saw a policeman talking to her parents. Lemon’s already conscious too.
She looked at us and smiled lazily but it quickly turned into a frown when she saw Drew. ‘Is it really over for the two of them?’
