Chapter 110 A Night Together
♫ Drew ♫
Because of what Leslie said, we went to the studio daily, until she arrived. We were indeed surprised to see her as she didn’t tell anyone when she was coming back.
It’s sometimes Homme or Roj who will ask us to come over. One day, it was Kellen. We agreed to meet at three in the afternoon and have dinner there.
After eating, I went straight to the veranda. I lit a cigarette and when I’m done, I headed downstairs and straight to the restroom.
While washing my hands, I heard them yelling outside as if they were celebrating something. My heartbeat quickened and when I came out, I saw the result of their glee.
I was greeted by Leslie’s even more gorgeous face. She was smiling widely with her arms wrapped around Kevz’s waist which irritated me a bit.
“Hi!” she greeted and I returned it with a wide smile. I even asked how she is and my nervousness calmed down a bit when she responded with a smile.
I wanted to think we were ok. That we’re back to how we used to be but I don’t want to assume. It’s best if we can talk about ourselves first. I still owe her an apology anyway.
She didn’t refuse when they invited her to drink and while doing so, tons of stories were exchanged. They even talked about her suitors and even if it hurts, I can only listen.
It pains me, especially when Leslie said that she did like one of them. If it isn’t a long-distance relationship, she would have said yes to him.
‘Does that mean she’s really moved on?’
I tried talking to her when she went to the restroom. I was just about to start when our friends interrupted and starts teasing us.
They saw me holding Leslie’s hands right outside the restroom and they were more ecstatic than I was. The teasing continued until we return to our seats.
What’s even more annoying is that Leslie leaned on Kevz’s shoulder. He even taunted me by placing his arm over her legs so I threw a bottle cap at him and the teasing started again.
As they were enjoying their trip, I decided to walk out on them and head to Costas. Laying down on the couch, I didn’t even bother turning the lights on.
I waited for her to talk to her but it’s been an hour and she hasn’t shown up yet so I decided to just go home thinking she’d sleep over at the studio. But when I was about to stand up, the door of her unit opened.
She didn’t turn the lights on too and I was surprised when she suddenly laid on top of me. I was startled when she screamed and snatched the flower vase from the table.
I made a sound to let her know it was me, afraid I might get hit. When she calmed down, I pulled her to sit on the couch then I turned the lights on.
“Why are you here?”
I sat next to her and sighed, “Les, before we part tonight, I want to apologize to you… for everything that happened,” A tear escaped my eye but I brushed it off quickly although I know she's already seen it.
She reached out for my hand and caressed it gently before facing me, "Drew, it's been years, besides, you don’t have to apologize to me. Just like what I told our friends before, you don’t have to blame yourself for anything, we’re both victims. And even after everything that's happened, I still want us to remain friends.”
“I still want us to remain friends.”
It took my brain several seconds to process what she said, but my heart still can’t. ‘Has she completely removed me from her life? Her heart? Can’t I be more than just a friend anymore?’
Again, a tear escaped my eye, followed by another, until I can’t stop them anymore. resting my elbows on my knee, I cupped my face with both hands and let go of the tears I’d been trying to hold back.
I felt Leslie’s warm hand moving up and down my back, “Why Drew?” she asked but I can only shake my head as I stop myself from crying.
“Thank you, Les, for forgiving me,” then she returned it with a sweet smile.
She stood up and headed to the kitchen. When she came back, she already have two glasses of water in hand and passed me one of them.
“Can you drive home?” she asked sweetly and I nodded. She looked at the wall clock and shook her head. “Nevermind, just stay here for the night.”
“It’s fine, Les. I can still drive.”
“No, I insist!” she said with conviction before reaching out for my hand and pulling me up towards her bedroom. I didn’t refuse, I don’t want to. I let her lead the way and turned on the lights when we got in. “Let’s sleep here, you still have clothes there so go get changed.”
I can’t help but smile at the back of my head. I don’t sleepover often in her unit, but I’m happy to know that she still has my clothes with her.
When she went inside the bathroom, I pulled on a shirt and shorts that I can wear and headed to the kitchen to change.
“Drew?”
“Yes, Les?”
“Let’s sleep. I’m starting to have a migraine,” she pouted. “I thought you left…”
“I went to the kitchen to change. It would have been embarrassing if you came out and I’m naked.”
I heard her giggle, "I would've seen what I've always wanted to see," she said and her face immediately turned crimson. I shook my head at chuckled. She’s definitely drunk. I’m sure she won't’ be able to say that when she’s sober.
I joined her on the bed, lying as far as I could from her but then I felt her hand reaching out for mine and pulling me closer. She even let my arm rest on her waist.
Again, I didn't refuse, I want this. I hugged her tightly before planting a kiss on her head. I waited for any resistance, but thankfully, nothing came.
However, I was caught off guard when she turned around to face me. "Stealing kisses huh?!" she teased.
“It’s just that I missed you so much,” I whispered and I was even more surprised when she wrapped an arm around my neck and closed our distance with a kiss. A kiss I'm even willing to pay for.
I opened my eyes but hers are closed. She's slowly moving her hand up and down my back and that made me want to kiss her more, even better.
I returned her sweet kisses with extra sweetness until I felt her hand trying to pull my shirt off. I took the initiative to get rid of my shirt before returning to her lips. Her kisses were longing and it's the same for me.
I kissed her down her neck and she let out soft moans. Pulling my hair lightly, she arched her body when my lips reached her stomach.
I can feel her heat even if I’m kissing her thru her shirt. After a while, she stopped moving. A smile slipped from my lips, she fell asleep.
I slowly and carefully lay down on my side of the bed, not even bothering to wear my shirt again. I lifted her head gently and let it rest on my arm.
Hugging her tightly, my heart leaped when she returned it. I then kissed her forehead for the last time before closing my eyes.Download Novelah App
