"Partner, what is it this time?" I asked irritatedly.
When Kale and Kellen came back, they told us Lemon decided to stay. But it was clear when they said she’s only staying for a month or two. Now, it’s been a year and she’s still there.
"Hi Partner!" she replied, grinning widely. I wanted to smile back at her, especially after seeing how beautiful she’s become, but I can’t as I’m really annoyed at her.
We tried several times to visit her, especially when we found out about her decision, but she keeps refusing. She said it’s just a waste of fare since she’s coming back anyway. What’s even more annoying is that she allows David to visit her, but not us.
“Stop trying to be cute, Partner! I really don’t like you right now!” I sneered, but she was still smiling.
“Why are you being sulky? What’s wrong?” she asked, giggling.
“What’s wrong? How about, when are you coming home?”
“Next month!” she exclaimed but I just scowled at her. “For real! I already submitted my resignation. They’re just looking for a replacement.”
“Is that sure? I’m going to tell everyone that we’re ready to accept gigs!” I asked to make sure. She nodded and showed me something on the screen. It was a copy of her resignation letter and that made me smile wider.
“See? Do you believe me now?”
“I’m close to not believing you actually after all the promises you break!”
She returned my comment with a hearty laugh. It was only then that I realized how much I miss her. Sadly, she broke up with my friend.
“I’m really going home, Partner. That’s a promise! I miss you already, I miss everyone!” and then she yawned and we both cracked into laughter.
“Fine! I trust you this time and it’s best if you go to sleep. Let’s catch up when you’re here!”
After that video call, I immediately returned to bed. It’s only seven in the morning and it’s abnormal for me to wake up this early. I’ll just sleep again to contain my excitement.

We’re all busy preparing. Even Lyra helped in cleaning the studio. Afterward, we headed to Lemon’s condo to clean it up too.
We only have two days left before we can see her again. It’s Kellen’s idea to do general cleaning and everyone volunteered to help.
“Shit!” They all turned to me, confused when they heard me curse.
“What’s wrong?” Kip asked.
I looked at the wall clock in Lemon’s living room, it was already past one in the afternoon. “Drew’s coming home tonight!” I announced and they all gasped.
“Then Lemon will come home next,” Homme stated as he breaks the silence.
“Hang on, let’s finish this first and we can talk about that later,” Roj suggested and everyone followed.
After cleaning, Kip ordered food to be delivered. It’s already past three and we’re just about to have our lunch. While waiting, everyone decided to rest.
“When did you know that Drew’s arriving?” Homme asked while we were eating.
“Yesterday! He called me on Messenger to let me know that he’s arriving today. He’ll arrive at seven tonight, if there’s no delay,” I informed him. They looked at each other. Some sigh while some remained quiet.
“Do you think they can still fix things between them?” Roj asked no one in specific. Even if he doesn’t say it, I know that he’s referring to Drew and Lemon.
“I’m hoping they can,” Kellen sighed. “But I think Drew has a girlfriend already.”
I looked at her but before I could ask, Kale spoke, “I guess it’s fine. Lemon has moved on from him anyway!”
I creased my forehead and asked, “What are you guys talking about?”
Kellen turned to me and started telling us what happened, “On Homme and I’s third month, we saw Drew’s pictures. She’s with a girl! I think he’s only been in the States for a week then. Several months after, he’s with another girl again.
“And?” I asked.
“What do you mean and? Naturally, we advised Lemon to start moving on so she forced herself to do so. Obviously, Drew’s done the same, he’s got a new girl!” Kale responded.
After all the move on I’ve heard, my brain wasn’t able to process anything. What I know is that this is wrong. Not one of them should move on.
“You mean, you guys assumed the girls on Drew’s pics are his girlfriends? Even Partner thinks the same?” and they both nodded. “You sillies! Those are his cousins!”
Shock registered on their faces. They even looked at each other, foreheads creased, before looking at me. “Cousins? The girl’s arms are wrapped on his waist, cousins?” Kale asked irritatedly.
“There you go! You started assuming just because of that?” Kip butted in.
“You guys should have asked first,” Roj told them off.
“If I remember correctly, all the pics that Drew posted with girls on them, are his pics with his cousins from his mother's side. He’s close with them though they don’t really see each other often,” I explained, and again, the gossipmongers looked at each other.
“Shit…” Kellen muttered.
“O-M-G! We let Lemon stay behind because she said she needs to fully move on from Drew. I even told her to make sure she’s over and done with him when she comes back!” Kale informed us.
All of us, boys, shook our heads. “You girls! It’s really disastrous when you start gossiping!” Kip told them as he scratch the back of his head, obviously irritated at the two.
Kellen scowled by Kale was smiling widely. He seemed to like it when Kip said ‘girls’. What an idiot!
“But you can’t blame us, you know? We all know Drew’s reputation. Besides, you guys know what happened before they both left,” says Kellen.
Homme reached out for her hand to give it a light squeeze. “We understand,” he even told her before smiling faintly.
“They might end up going back to how they were before,” Roj said in a whisper.
“Well, I hope they can still be friends. At least for the band,” Kip shrugged.
The exchange of stories went on. They even told us how Lemon got tons of suitors back in France, aside from Levi.
We also found out that David visited her four times. According to Lemon, it was just a business trip and it happens to be somewhere close so he visited her.
I suddenly thought of my friend. I wonder what he’s planning when they see each other again. Hopefully, he does have something planned.
It was already past nine when we decided to go home. But when we opened the door, we were all surprised to see Drew right outside Lemon’s unit.
“Drew!” everyone exclaimed and even he seemed surprised to see us.
“How did you know we’re here?” Kip asked.
He paused for several seconds and looked at us, one by one. “Oh! I-I passed by the studio and L-Lyra told me you're all here,” he stuttered.
‘What is going on with him? If it was Lyra who told him, then he shouldn’t be surprised to see us.’
“Do you want to grab some drinks?” Homme asked him but he was quick to shake his head in refusal.
“Let’s do it tomorrow. I really just stopped by to check you out. I came from the airport.”
And so we’ve decided to meet again tomorrow and I can’t help but feel excited. Because the next day, Lemon will finally come home and they will see each other again.
‘I wonder what will happen to them?’
The next day, I went to the studio before lunch. We’re having lunch together as Drew told us he will cook. But since he didn’t say what he was going to cook and I’m doing the groceries, I decided to help him reminisce.
A few minutes after I arrived, Drew’s car stopped right in front of the studio. I opened the gate for him and he immediately apologized when he saw me.
“I woke up late, jetlagged,” he said.
“It’s alright! You should have rested more if you’re really tired,” I said as I close the gate and follow him inside.
“Drew! When did you arrive?!” Lyra greeted and my forehead automatically creased.
“I thought you saw each other last night?” I asked as I look at both of them but Lyra looks confused while Drew was suddenly anxious.
“I am!” he replied as he put an arm around Lyra’s shoulders and lead her inside. “What are we going to cook?” he even asks her as they head straight to the kitchen.
I shook my head as I smell something fishy. ‘If he wasn’t there for us, who or what did he go there for? he knows Lemon isn’t back yet. Was he planning to reminisce their old moments last night?’
