The sun was beaming so brightful at the roof of the Roqueves mansion. The delightness of the morning was extremely peaceful, and it was worthwhile. Eris gazed carefully at the moonflower that a maid was putting on a small jar. The details of delicate white bloomed moonflower was imaginable, hence the smell was enchanting and sweet like the smell of jasmine crossing with vanilla was all around the hall. It was no wonder. Moonflowers symbolize a good charm for the ladies in court. Because it shows a positive view, and sensation that strokes mystery. It does as well mean for romance, and hope. He then smiles momentarily. Moonflower—is the origin of Catholy's name. The duchess, his mother was so fond of them, she created a name under the same origin. Catholy stands as the symbol that sparks mystery, the fate of romance, and the beginning of hope. That's right, when Catholy left and lived in the palace, she was rarely seen outside. There are rumors that she has locked herself out, and some said she was not in her proper mind. Rumors are ridiculous but he couldn't help but to feel irritated. "Good morning, young master," someone called him. He looked at the person who spoke, and it was just the butler. "Morning too, Sir Venedict," he said and smiled. "Young master, the weather is quite nice today, it would be nice if you and my lady can have a little picnic. I worry that she's not very active these days, nor does she barely leave her room," the butler said in deep worry. True, Catholy was holding herself since she got back from the city five days ago. He was worried as well, she barely left her room and would coop herself up. She said she was studying, so he did not want to bother her. "Thanks for the suggestion, Sir Venedict. Would you mind preparing something for the picnic, I'll just notify my sister," he simply said and the butler nodded before he left. He quietly walked forward, when he saw a shadow of a man lurking around the corner. His heart raced as he crept closer, trying to make out the figure. Once he came across it, all of his worries had been released from his heart. Since the person he saw lurking on the corner was none other than Kalester himself. "Goodness," he mumbled quietly. "What are you doing there, Kalester?" Kalester looked at him and he smiled. "You are awake, Eris, yes I was just about to leave—" "Wait, you stayed in my sister's room again?" he interrupted, making Kalester breathe out. "Indeed, I stayed there but I did not touch her according to the duke's rule," he explained. Ever since Kalester was scolded by both Eris and the Duke, he promised to them that unless he is allowed to see Catholy, he was not allowed to touch her. It was a written rule, though it sounds ridiculous in Kalesters opinion. Even if Kalester is the future Grand Duke Valentine. He has to make sure he follows the duke's rule if he wants to stay by Catholy's side. "At this point, I am losing my sense of priority, but since you are here, come and join us in a picnic outdoors," he said. The young lord Kalester looked at him and he quietly shifted. "That would be a nice offer, but I have work to do. I can't skip my duties." Eris silently laughed. "The emperor did you a great deal, I presume?" Then he silently smirked. He could not help but to think of his reason why he suddenly provoked the emperor. He and his family have been loyal to the crown since the rise of Albania Empire, why now? Everyone in the palace has known that Kalester has been demoted, and has been punished as a detective. Even his rank in the station is far lower than a major. The young lord Kalester smiles stiffly. He is embarrassed to say, but indeed, he never expected to be this busy after his demotion. The emperor had his eyes on him, and he would work mostly even on weekends. He has no shift, and would work day or even night. There is only one time he gets to rest. After that, his back in action. The emperor was restless with his punishment, nevertheless, he does not mind this treatment. It was lighter than losing Catholy, given the fact that he lost her once. "It's an Imperial Order, I don't have power against it," he whispered and looked away. "It's only for a month, he can rip off my rank but I can climb back." It's the same five months ago. No matter how much the emperor hated his guts, he couldn't get rid of him as he usually does. Instead, he would demote him in the name of Royal Degree to decrease his influence in the High Society. However, his cunning ways could not be easily deterred. He would come back, and show the emperor that it was no use trying to resist. He was already there, spreading his name even from afar and if there's a case of his disappearance, the church will investigate with or without the emperor's consent. Kalester was about to walk away but Eris tightly gripped his hand's forcing him to stop. "The Second Prince sent spies to monitor my sister's movement. Be careful when you meet her, and never take your eyes off them." Before he could respond to Eris sudden action, he already let him go and he was already gone from his sight. Kalester was left speechless, and confused. They were never this close to sharing information, but rather than thinking about Eris, he reforms to think about the information he said. Those spies he mentioned? He seemed unaware that they might be professional in this field. It can also be said that it might be someone who will enter as an employee. It'll be dangerous from here on out, and seeing her will only put her in danger. He clicked his tongue as he looked at the open window. "It seems that some rat has bypassed my eyes," he mumbled to himself. "Hmm... Maybe this is a job for those twins." ⌜━━✣━━⌟ A few moments after Kalester left my room, my brother came in as follows. I was confused as to why he suddenly showed up, I thought he'd gone crazy as well but he offered me an outing. Or perhaps picnic by the lake. That is why we are currently in the lake, and have the servants prepared our snacks. I looked at the bright blue skies, and the sorrowful clouds forming in shape. Before I could even sneer that feeling, my brother started talking. "Be honest with me," he mumbled and looked at me. "When did you meet Kalester anyway?" When did I meet Kalester? We didn't meet in this lifetime, that is why I couldn't answer his question. Kalester and I came from a distant future, and have a different kind of situation. It will be suspicious if I refuse to answer him. Hence, I might be able to alter the story. Brother has no sense of fact when it comes to story, he will believe what I say regardless of what I spoke. He couldn't identify an altered fact in a story, so I was sure he wouldn't be able to think twice. I give him a silent nod as a response to his question and then I silently turn over to face him. "The palace is a vast place of wonder, in an abandoned forest from the princess palace—there stood the former princess secret bookhouse, it was a place where even the knights couldn't dare to enter," I explained and then I breathed out. "I met Kalester there by chance—in fact, I wouldn't dare to come home if he didn't pursue me to think about my decision. Kalester was hiding from the patrols when I came across him at that place," I paused and tilted. I couldn't continue as the story was coming to light. "So, he became a convict?" he asked and I looked at him surprised. Where did that come from anyways? I shook my head. "No, obviously how did you think about that?" I paused and then I breathed out. "Anyways, Kalester was hiding in the bookhouse for some unknown reason and we talked." I then simply hugged my knee as I looked down. "I have some things I can't dare to explain," I mumbled and then I tilted my face to look at Eris' reaction. "He opened my eyes to reality, and I found out about the affairs of my fiance." In the past, I would often fight with Eris when it came to my fiance. I didn't want to admit it before, but now everything changes. My life was ruined because I blindly listened to my cowardly fiance, and ended up losing those people who truly cared for me. Even though I told myself I will change my destined fate, a lingering fear still lurks within me. The future I am about to make—is dark and shallow—where an unknown force of challenges may come to hinder my plans. I fear that everything I do is all for the naught, I don't want revenge, but I wanted vengeance. If this is the past, I will cower my head and follow the prince regardless of the outcome—but things are different now from then—I reconcile with my beloved family and finally I meet someone who truly gives me the respect and love as a woman. The wind suddenly blew harshfully on my skin, leaving me to close my eyes as I gently grabbed my hands around my hair as I looked up at the sky. "It's warm and windy today," I mumbled. Then I heard Eris chuckle beside me. "Our mother will be somewhat pissed if she finds out we neglected you," he said and then suddenly his hands were on my head, and gently he patted me. "Thank you for giving us a chance to redeem ourselves, because we wanted to make things right—about the faults of our past—so don't worry about things, because no matter what you want to do, we will continue to support you." Mother? That's right, we hardly talked like this ever since our mother passed away. I remember struggling from a disease, but after my regression, things have finally calmed down. Thinking about my mother is no less painful than it was before, but still I missed her. Yes, I still remember this warmth. Eris' smile and father's determination, they might have neglected me but they showed their worries by spoiling me with things. It was hard to see that before, because no matter what hope I can handle to lift, the prince will manipulate it and tell me that I was wrong. "Did you do what I asked of you?" I asked. Brother tilted and he silently nodded. "Putting aside the 'you want to meet the first prince' yes, I did but the first prince palace is tightly guarded, in order to meet him without sending an official appointment, we must seek her majesty first." Is that so? The empress is a person I have met before my regression. She was my mentor before I was married to the Second Prince, when I was still his fiance. She taught me many things as the future crown princess and an empress. Managing internal affairs and diplomatic politics was her specialty which she taught me. Giving me an opportunity to learn wise decision making from her. She always told me that "no matter how risky my decisions are, if it was right then even if things go wrong, always respect your decisions" her advice taught me how to open up to my father and brother. However, tragically the empress has fallen depressed after his highness, the first prince died of an uncertain illness. She stopped wanting to meet visitors, and refused to see her duty. Because of it, the empire slowly fell into the hands of his majesty's cruel judgment. Making it harder for the empress to weep her child's death. Not knowing that it was all planned by the emperor's mistress, the first consort. She filled the empress with her people, and fuelled her sadness with rumors until the empress snapped. She went to the top of the tower, where everyone could see, beside her palace where her husband's gaze was staring at her with disdain and carelessness. She waited for the sun that rose from the north, and there slowly she jumped down to the rabbit hole. The news was shocking even for me. The empress was a dignified person, she's pure and respectable. That is why her sudden death took a great turn for me. I didn't want to bear the same mistake as I did—I didn't want her to become a pet like me till the end—So, the first thing I want now that I came back, I decided to save the people who died miserably because of the emperor. Starting with her majesty and her child, the first prince.
