"I'm sure there will be another game at the upcoming Christmas party because it's family day there at the same time. We should be complete with papa, huh ?!" I told to my mom. We are shopping today at the mall for clothes that I will wear. I insist mama not to because I still have clothes there even though they are old. It can be passed through the laundry but she said, she also gave it to me as a gift.
Mama smiled at me and stroked my head. "You're already a teenager, my daughter. You're still beautiful," she said with a smile. My forehead furrowed because she seemed to change the subject. "Mom, I know I'm beautiful because I inherited from you, what are you." I hug her and kiss her cheeks. We are in a public place but if this is how you are with us, you can't help but kiss and hug. I love my mom so much. "Hmmm! You're really playful. Oh here, measure it. I'm sure that will suit on you. Anyway, everything you wear is up to you," mama flattered. I went into the fitting room and put on the dress mama had chosen for me. I'm a little bothered because her smile seems to be forced these days. Dad too, if he come home it's always late. I fell asleep right away because I was tired from school. "My daughter is so beautiful. Sister, look at my daughter. The dress is her thing!" I'm embarrassed because she actually called that a woman just to make me proud! But I find it cute, though. That's my mom. I pouted at her. "Mama! It's so embarrassing," I replied shyly. She pinch my cheeks. "You're a girl. All right, we'll pay for that," she promised. I grabbed her arm to stop her. "Mom, it's expensive ..." I regret the cost. I know papa is out of work too. She gave me a sweet smile as if she was assuring me that it was okay. "There is no price when you give your child. Remember that, child. When you have a child, you will also say it I am telling you now." She smiled at me. The thought of having my own family in the future is good. If you're different, don't want to have children, one of my dreams is having one big family. I know I was young there but thinking about my future is so good to the point that I can’t wait to reach all my dreams. I know I can do it, there are my two brothers, mama, and most of all papa. Eventually the two of us went home happy. Not because of what mama bought me, t's because our bonding. On the day of our Christmas party, I went to school first while mama and papa were next. I was nervous because last night I heard them fighting. I was afraid that papa might not go. He seemed very angry with mama. I didn't want to mediate between them because I didn't know what they were arguing about. I might just get scolded too. Also, my two younger siblings were there. I focused more on them to distract them. "Sol!" Just a short distance away, Kia, my best friend, called me immediately. I don't have many friends. As that number on the finger. I wouldn't die without a friend. The one I trust the most is Kia. She always defends me in everything. I was once ashamed of that woman, nothing else was done otherwise, join me in everything. She deserves the world, she is very kind. She's wearing baby blue dress. She's beautiful in the dress she's wearing. She narrowed her eyes on me. "Why are you looking at me like that? Do you find me so beautiful? I'm sorry? I'm beautiful!" she exaggerated. Even if she's always talkative and her mouth can't just even rest for awhile, I still love this girl. "Are you murdering me in your mind? You're serious, Alba Monroe. I'm still your friend, don't be like that." She even held her chest as if she was in pain. I just pulled her to the venue, the art of it. "You're beautiful. The crowd will annoy you again because men will fall in love with you again," Kia whispered as we walked. There are people looking at us but I don’t care about them. Also, Kia is what they are looking at. I'm just nothing here. "Are aunt and uncle here yet?" I asked her, pertaining to her parents. We sat in our designated chair. "Yes, they just call me awhile ago. How about yours? Are they going too?" she asked. I just nodded even though I wasn't sure. "Yup." lt has already started and the other parents are already there while papa and mama is still gone. That's where my nervousness arose. Not because they can’t go, otherwise what’s the reason. On all occasions at school or anywhere they go. They are never late, just now. I know there is a problem. "Where are your parents?" Kia asked after playing. It was a game for the whole family. I didn’t join because they didn’t even have a mom. "I don't know ..." I whispered. "Oh, there's aunt and uncle." I immediately turned around and saw mama and papa. When mama saw me she waved at me while smiling. She smiled but it was obvious in her eyes that that was not true. Her eyes were tired. I looked at papa and he was just following mama. It’s just quiet and that’s where I’m innovating. I stood up and made them sit on the chair. I looked at Kia and she was happily looking at me. "Mom, are you all right?" I whispered to mom. She smiled sparingly at me. "Just enjoy yourself, my daughter." "Are you sure, ma? Can we go home?" worried I asked her. "I'm just going to comfort room, nak," she said goodbye. I nodded at hee and smiled. I looked at papa and he just smiled at me too. I approached him and leaned over the chair. "You're so beautiful, my Sol," he promised. I smiled at him. "I jist inherit my looks on you, dad. Just whisper because when mama heard me I broke up with her." We both giggled. "Sol, let's go in!" Kia shouted. She pulled me over so I said goodbye to dad. "I'll be back, dad," I said goodbye to him. He smiled and nodded. "I love you, my Sol," he whispered to me. I frowned at him. I would have talked to him when Kia pulled me over. I stared at him as Kia dragged me away. He smiled at me as he waved. "Papa..." I whispered. So much fun of the game that Kia and I joined. For a moment I forgot how I felt. When we returned to our seats Kia's parents were still there. I looked at where mama and papa were sitting earlier but ... they were not there. "Where are mama and papa, Aunt Shiela?" I asked Kia's mom. "I was not aware of your dad's departure but your mom suddenly left earlier after she came back," she replied. "Kia ..." I called Kia worriedly. She held my hand to calm me down. "Maybe they just went home. Can you call?" she promised. I called mama but it just rang and didn't answer. Papa, on the other hand, had the phone turned off and could not be called. "I'll go home first, Kia. I'll see if they're there," I said goodbye to her. She nodded. "I'll go with you." I shook. "Don't, your parents are here. I'll take care of it," I replied to her. "Are you sure?" she asked worriedly. I smiled at her and nodded. "All right, enjoy yourselves." When I got home it was quiet. "Jarred? Tatiana? Mom? Dad?" I call them. I was shocked when I saw Jarred and Tatiana crying on the side. I quickly went in their direction. "What happened? Why are you crying? Where are mama and papa?" I asked one question after another. Tatiana hugged my waist while crying. "Daddy..." she cried. "What's up? What happened to papa? Where are they, Tatiana?" I asked worriedly. "Daddy's gone," she cried. "W-what? W-where's mama?" I asked nervously. "He left us!" crying Jarred complained to me. I hugged him tightly. I did not cry in front of them. I stood up and wiped away their tears. "I'll look for papa. Just stay here. Come with mama, okay?" I calmly told them. Mama was in her room and crying so I went to her first. "Ma ..." I called softly to her. She is crying ... My heart seemed to break as I listened to her sobs. I went to her and hugged her tightly. "Shush ..." "A-alba... I'm sorry because we suddenly got lost there," mama said crying. I shook. "No, mama. It's okay. Where is papa? I'll look for him," I calmly promised her. She shook her head. "He has left us," she lamented.
