Chapter 11
I looked away after that. I don't know what to react. I feel like my face right now is red like hell!
I fake coughed. "Ah..." I awkwardly look around.
What the fudge, Alba? What are you doing right now? This isn't you! How can you betray me right now, Alba?
Oh my gosh! Shit!
"Wow! This is really beautiful!" I exaggerately said.
Calm down, Sol. Calm down.
I heard him chuckled. I was paralyzed with annoyance.
Why isn't he even ashamed of me? Of course, why should I be ashamed of him? Shouldn't he be?
"Let's go?" he offered. It was only then that I turned to him.
Kia and Travis also approached us. "What? You're dating, Arki? We left you for almost an hour too. It's time for you to form!" Kia's shameless promise.
I looked at him but he just made fun of me.
"Let's go home," I said to them.
Everyone agreed. "It's so fun today. Looks like next week, I'll be officially taken!" exaggerated Kia’s promise.
She was still next to Travis as we drove home. Isn't she really ashamed of the man?
Travis, on the other hand, walked over to Kia after he said that.
"It can happen tomorrow." Travis chuckled.
My face went up as I listened to the two flirt.
Arki and I are here at their back, we are just walking quietly.
He kept asking me questions but I gave very short answers. One question, one answer.
We're walking right now at the middle of nowhere.
Kia knows how to go home so we trust her. She doesn't even want to ride. She said she prefers this because you can feel the night.
She was right. Again, the night was quiet. I just looked at the galaxy.
I smiled when I saw that the moon was also smiling.
"Waxing crescent ..." I looked at Arki as he spoke.
When he felt me looking at him he also looked at me with a smile. "It's smiling to us," he promised with a smile.
I smiled unconsciously as I stared at him.
When I regained consciousness I looked at the moon again. "That's right. Look at the stars too. It's a matter of the moon, twinkling with the moon that gives light in the dark night. They're really destined to be together. So maybe the moon isn't really destined to be with the sun is because there is something for him and these are the... stars, "I said with a smile.
"Do you believe in destiny?" he suddenly asked.
I turned to him and was surprised by his question.
I bite my lips. "Hmmmm... I think so. Do you know why?... Because everything that happens and will happen in our lives is predestined. And the people... are destined for us, the people ... destined for us. Not because I want a handsome man, he will go to me. My destiny is not in my hands. Everything belongs to the Lord. It is in his hands where he will take me and to whom he will destine me ... "I replied to him.
"I admire you." I stopped walking for a moment after hearing that.
I feel my hearbeat become fast. "Huh?" I close my eyes in annoyance because of myself. What kind of answer is that, Alba?
He smiled at me. "I know that we still don't know each other deeply. But being with you today makes me admire you. Every word that comes out of you imprints on my mind and heart. It makes me want to .. .know you more, "he said weakly.
I stare at him so deeply. I never feel this way. But I realized something on what he said. I smiled and shook my head at him. "As you said, you still don't know me. I don't want anyone coming into my life because I'm afraid..." I replied.
He sincerely smiled at me. "You don't have to be scared. In our life, someone will leave, someone will abandoned you but that doesn't mean there's no one will come in your life that will love you like how you want to be loved," he replied.
I smiled bitterly and shook my head. "You don't understand me. No one can understand me." I look away, trying to fight the urge of my tears. "I can no longer expect that someone will come into my life who will understand me. And I also can't expect that if someone comes, they will definitely leave me too. But it's okay with me, I'm contented of having me in my life. I’m used to it, ”I promised weakly.
I was surprised when he stopped and held my hand so I stopped too.
He grabbed my shoulder and I slowly turned to face him. I looked at him.
I saw in his eyes ... I can see the pity in his eyes?
Why would he feel sorry for me? I don't want that.
"I don't feel sorry for you." I never told him that.
He smiled at me genuinely. "Sol..."
Here we are again. He calls me Sol again.
"Hmmm?" I answered.
"You're too independent to the point that you're not afraid that no one will come into your life. That even if you're alone for life it's okay. Because you're also afraid. You're afraid that when someone comes into your life, they will leave. But Sol... why can't you look at the bright side? Not everyone will leave you..." he said tenderly.
I chuckled. "I don't know. I had a trauma ... because the first man who I loved the most was the first man who left me. Who left us, who left my mother. The reason why my mother cried everynight..." I shook.
Why am I like this again...
I didn't realize that we were here at the resort. Kia is right, it's really close and you can just walk.
"Here we are!" Kia shouted in front of us with Travis.
I've seen them painting before. They seem to enjoy it a lot. Looks like this friend of mine is really going to have a lovelife.
"I'll accompany you in your room," I heard Travis say.
"Hey!" I insert them.
I heard Arki chuckled on my side so I stared at it too.
"I'm a Filipina girl, Sol. Don't worry about me," Kia told me artfully.
I just rolled my eyes at her. Filipina girl, huh?
"I'll brought you too in your room if it's okay?" Arki asked me suddenly.
"Hey!" Kia said.
I stared at her before turning to Arki.
I shooked my head. "I can go to my room on my own. We're all tired too, I'm fine."
"We're leaving, loving birds. Arki, my friend, huh? If something happens there, you'll be the oneI will punch!" exaggerated Kia’s promise.
The two of us waved. I was just shaken up for a friend.
I turned to Arki again to say goodbye but his pitying face glared at me.
"Please?" his tender promise. "I just want to assure that you're safe."
I sigh. "Fine!" I walked ahead and didn't wait for him anymore.
We just kept quiet and no one spoke. When we got to the opposite side of my room, I was still there to say goodbye to him.
He smirked as he stared at me intently. "I won't welcome you to my room so don't expect," I said.
His lips rose. He chuckled after that. "I'm not expecting, Sol. Go on, I'll go after you go inside," he promised with a smile.
I bite my lips. "Oh...okay," I replied softly.
He just smiled and motioned for me to go inside.
I was like a child following him. I open my door and slowly go inside.
Wait-- I couldn’t say goodbye!
I opened the door again. He just turned around and was about to leave.
"Arki!" I called him.
He was shocked. "W-what? Do you need anything?" he asked softly.
I shook. "Goodnight," I promised with a smile.
He was slightly surprised after I said that. I don't think he expected it.
He shyly smiled at me. He scratch his head. "Goodnight too," he replied.
I nodded. "And Arki...learn to be alone because not all people don't stay with us forever," I said meaningfully to him.
He just smiled at me. "Copy ma'am."Download Novelah App
