Kill me
*Leroy POV*
Everyone is congratulating me on becoming the ultimate king, but I my mind is miles away. I can’t concentrate. I have to act now before another mate shows up. I just can’t lose Cali. Alloy raises his eyebrows when I pull him to the outside, away from eavesdroppers.
“You should be ecstatic, but you are not. What’s up?” he asks.
“I need you to kill me.”
His eyes almost pop out of his skull.
“Excuse me?”
“I can’t have this wolf, Alloy. I need you to destroy my wolf,” I clarify my statement and he frantically shakes his head.
“My king, I…”
“I cannot lose Cali. I would rather die than betray her,” I interject before he tries to convince me otherwise.
“I don’t get it. Did you two fight?”
“I still have other mates,” I let him in on my curse disguised as a blessing and he curses nonstop.
“Shit! Damn it! Oh, man. This is bad. Bloody hell!
“Now, what?” he asks after a good ten minutes of him cursing.
“Gold could separate me from Sky. Maybe she can still do it with the Sable king,” I suggest and he start shaking his head before I can complete my sentence. “You can kill my wolf and leave me wolf-less, but if Gold can’t separate us, I need you kill both of us. I would rather die than hurt my queen,” I tell him what I have decided. I don’t see any way around this. My greedy father has no idea how his selfish, power hungry actions are affecting me even after his death.
“Wait, you can’t really expect me to do this!” Alloy cries. He looks perplexed but I don’t see any other way.
“Alloy, please. You are the only one I trust. I am desperate,” I plead with him but he continuously shakes his head.
“You are my friend. You can’t ask me to kill your wolf or you. The golden queen will kill me. Not only that, you are more powerful than me now,” he counters, looking perplexed.
“Surely you and your parents can…”
“Rufus says you are the ultimate king. You can’t be defeated by anyone else besides your Queen,” he cuts me off while I curse under my breath. I know my Queen. She will never agree to do this.
Alloy holds on my shoulder and squeezes.
“You have the most resilient will and strength, Leroy. Your connection and love for your mate is nothing I have ever witnessed. It has to be enough to get you through any other situation you might face,” he tries to convince me, but I am too terrified of the alternative.
“What if it is not?”
“Then I will kill your mates.”
I raise my eyebrows at him and he continues.
“I will go everywhere with you. If you can’t overcome your wolf, I will get rid of that mate. I swear.”
I study him and process his words. This could work.
“You are a good friend, Alloy,” I declare before my gorgeous mate approaches and looks suspiciously at us.
“What are you two discussing?”
“Nothing, guys stuff,” Alloy says quickly while she narrows her alluring golden eyes at me.
“You better not promise him our pups,” she warns. I can’t help but wrap my arms round her waist before reassuring her.
“Never.”
Alloy makes a sulking face before leaving us alone. I am about to enquire why she came to find me when she gags.
“Are you okay?”
“No, I am nauseous. Everything makes me puke. It’s disgusting!”
I can’t hold back my laughter and she is not impressed.
“I will talk to the princesses to give you a break,” I suggest and she rolls her eyes at me before gagging again and rushing inside.
I follow behind her and find her in the bathroom kneeling over the toilet. I sit on the floor and gently pat her back until she stops throwing up. I pick her up and carry her to our chambers after she rinses her mouth. She holds on to my neck and rests her head on my chest. Her warmth against mine is the assurance I not only love but need for my every being.
She looks exhausted and dehydrated when I place her on our bed to rest. That’s when I try to talk some sense to the cause of her nausea. She is not showing yet, but I can feel the connection to them the moment I place my hands over her tummy.
“Listen here you two. I love you to bits, but this is my mate and Queen you are toying with. Stop it,” I rebuke and she looks at me like I have grown horns.
“Seriously?” she asks in disbelief.
“Hey, we don’t know what powers I possess now. This might just work.”
“Fine, keep talking.”
I don’t know when I fell asleep. I wake up two hours later to find my fuming mate.
“You asked Alloy to kill you?”
I curse under my breath. Alloy would never tell her this. How the hell…I halt and curse again. The Epsilon. He can’t hide these things from her.
“Are you crazy?” she yells, while I get off the bed.
“Babe,” I call to her softly and she completely loses it.
“No! You know how much I love you. Do you know how I felt when you were in a coma? Do you even care? You expect me to raise these pups by myself?” she shouts angrily while tears flow down her cheeks, breaking my heart. She has been through too much in her life. I hate to make her cry.
“Cali.”
“You are selfish. Leave me alone!” she shouts before storming out.
I hurry behind her, but find myself gasping for air. Not only is it hard to breathe, but my heart hurts like hell. It takes over five minutes for me to get downstairs where I find Alloy and Marcus in the lounge. They both look curiously at me.
“Trouble in paradise?” Marcus asks and narrows his eyes at me. He must have met his fuming sister earlier. I bet she told him everything.
“Yep.”
“Are you okay?” he ask with a concerned tone. I shake my head. Cali can never stay angry with me, but something I can’t quite explain is completely off with me.
“I don’t know. Something is wrong with me.”
“You or your wolf?” Alloy asks and inspects me as if sensing something and I suddenly feel like I am dying.
“I…” I try to speak before everything goes blank. Download Novelah App
