A*Leroy POV*
My queen groans followed by baby cries. I raise her hand and plant a kiss on it.
“We have two girls. They are gorgeous!” Linda beams while checking them.
“Of course, they are,” I say and everyone laughs. I don’t have to see their faces to know that. My queen’s beauty is out of this world and I am not too bad myself.
“Here they come!” Linda announces and place both of them on my lap. I squeeze my teary queen’s hand, my heart leaping. I was wrong, they are more than gorgeous.”
“Welcome, Orlaith and Aerol,” I declare and plant kisses in their soft chubby cheeks.
I place them on Cali’s bosom and watch them feed with my heart full. I was never meant to be here, but we fought against the goddess and changed the fate. I get to hold my pups and raise them.
“I see you did not go with the traditional rhyming twin names,”
“The meanings are,” its Alloy who responds. We all turn to look at him. He is all fine and awake.
He sits on the bed next to Cali and play with their feet as they feed.
“Golden princess and Golden hearted,” he murmurs their meaning while Cali turns to me.
I shrug. I told her that the names will be a surprise. “Their mother is the great Golden Queen. The names are only fitting.”
She rests her head on my shoulder. “I love you, my Sable king.”
I know this but my heart still leaps at that.
Alloy is not happy when Cale runs in and squeezes between him and Cali.
“My Handsome Prince!” Cali beams and introduces the twins to him.
“They are cute,” he declares and kisses them.
“Do you like them? Can they have your milk?” Cali teases and our boy nods.
“I love them. Cale is a big boy now. They can have my milk.”
Cale is just over two years now, yet he acts like he is ten.
“Ncoaw, you are just the best big brother in the entire world!” Cali beams.
She and Cale continue chatting about birds and dinosaurs as usual while I listen in with gratitude.
Sixteen years later, Cali and Cale have just returned from Phoebe’s grave when I feel her pounding heart. My mate is mad and I can already guess what happened.
“My love,” I say and pull her in my arms.
“Your friend must go or I will kill him.”
“He is your friend too,” I point out and she gives me a cold look.
“What has Alloy done now?”
Alloy is more like a permanent member of this family now. He is the self-appointed bodyguard for our girls. He takes them to school and stays there the whole day. He scares the living daylights out of any boy who comes near them, which I am totally fine with. His parents have long accepted his absence. He only visits his pack on school holidays.
“He is stupid and lets Orlaith bully Aerol!” Cali says angrily the moment Alloy walks in with Orlaith clinging to him as usual.
She clashes a lot with her mother and knows that Alloy would always come to her rescue.
“Orlaith is a softy. She would never bully Aerol,” Alloy objects  and my mate completely loses it. She has pushed Alloy so hard, he falls a distance away before getting down to a terrified Orlaith’s level. My Princess is now trembling. She knows her mother too well.
“Daddy,” she calls to me with a shaky voice, pulling at my heartstrings, but I have learned never to mingle in this. My queen is a loving and dotting mother, but does not tolerate nonsense.
“He won’t help you, little liar!”
“I…I am sorry, Mommy.”
“Sorry for what!” Cali yells, causing my princess to jump, startled.
“I…I didn’t mean to claim Aerol’s work as mine. I was scared of detention.”
“What?” Alloy asks in disbelief and I can already work out what happened. For some reason Alloy believes everything Orlaith says and she knows it. She’s the extrovert while her sister keeps to herself. They don’t have their Lycans yet, but I think he believes that she is the one who will be his mate.
“Shut up, Alloy!” Cali roars and turns to our teary princess before her.
“And you thought taking Aerol’s work and have her serve detention instead was right?”
She frantically shakes her head, tears rolling down her cheeks. “I am sorry, Mommy. I won’t do it again.”
“You better, because I will break your little neck and feed you to the dogs. Got it!”
She swallows her saliva and nods.
“Yes, Mommy.”
“You are going to apologise to your sister and do her chores for the whole week. If I find out that your dummy uncle here helped you, I will kill you both.”
She nods and runs away. I can hear her sobbing loudly and Nora consoling her. Her can be really extra. The one really wronged went straight to her room. She only shrugged when I asked if she was okay. I knew that she was upset because I did not hear her play her violin. Our girls are complete opposites.
“Golden queen.”
Cali’s attention turns to Alloy, who starts pleading. I take sit on the couch. This is going to be a long afternoon.
“Pack your bags and go back to your pack.”
“My queen, please. I messed up.”
“Orlaith has become lazy and manipulative because you let her. You don’t even tell us that she has been flagged at school for her attitude.”
My queen is fuming. She is very particular about how we raise our children.
“She is a Lycan teenager and trying to discover herself. Those teachers must understand. I was handling it.”
Alloy’s response is making all this worse and making him look guilty as charged.
“By covering up for her and letting her steal her sister’s work?”
He looks away and shakes his head.
“I didn’t know about that.”
“Aerol told you and you ganged up on her. Had I not met their teacher today, I would not have known about this. You are letting her get away with wrongdoing and bullying her sister. I will not let you drive a wedge between my girls because of stupid favouritism. Get your bags and get out.”
Alloy quickly gets on his knees and pleads. He has dedicated sixteen years of his life to the girls and absolutely terrified of them getting into wrong hands.
“I am sorry, my queen. It won’t happen again.”
“I wont repeat myself, Alloy.”
“Babe,” I intervene. Alloy may be dumb at times, but we need him guarding the girls until they get their Lycans. They have survived over six abduction attempts and that is because Alloy was there.
“Don’t,” she says and storms upstairs. I find her pacing in our chambers and wrap my arms around her waist.
“They can’t attend school if Alloy is not here,” I tell her and see her jaw clench. She knows that I am right. Every Lycan and Alpha out there knows about them.
“Marco and Darius’ sons are Lycans and wild and unruly as their fathers were. Our guards have no power over them. We have two packs to rule and can’t be at school with them the whole day.”
“So, he does as he pleases because we need him?”
I kiss her neck to soften her and feel her relax. “Orlaith is a chatterbox with a  personality that can win people over in a second.”
“She’s becoming conniving and manipulative. I can’t let her be that person. He either helps to raise them properly or they will be home schooled.”
“I will talk to him,” I say and deepen the kiss on her neck until she is moaning.
