********* SEVEN STARS ********* A large, beautiful glass window filled space, with white walls, fluorescent lighting, and a long, brownish glass-made table centered in the room. A limited number of people were seated around the table, with an electronic gadget for the meeting. Pens and other writing materials were in front of them. The limited number of people present in the room dressed in the accepted business attire, which enhanced the uniformity in the room. A whiteboard was placed in a visible area where everyone's sight faced, providing a suitable and comfortable environment for the attendees to pay absolute attention to the person in control of the information. With writing materials in hand, he wrote and drew a lot on the whiteboard, moving and illustrating some points with his hand while passing the agenda and key points. Additionally, a suitable TV was placed in the corner, used to present visual copies of the meeting presentations. Mr. Toes sat at the left side of the table, but he wasn't following the conversation in the meeting as he would on other suitable days. People were raising their hands and volunteering their opinions to solve particular issues and brainstorm new ideas for the company. The air was suffused with different opinions pushing the discussion forward. "What if we change the time from 8 to 7? With this change, we will be able to cover everything needed." A young man who was granted the floor contributed his opinion. We will look further into that in our next gathering. He said and pointed his hand to another. "We need more hands to speed up this new project," a lady contributed. "We will look into that before we commence the project. Mr. Toe, do you have anything to add to this before we end the meeting?" he asked, waiting for his reply. "The person closest to him noticed he wasn't there, he smartly tapped him. He snapped out of the trance he was in. "No, Mr. Tony." He pretended to be following up, but people knew he wasn't following anything going on in the room. He has been just like that since his arrival in the meeting. "Since there's no other words of contribution, we will end the meeting here. See you all soon." He concluded his words as everyone in the room applauded. He left the room, Toes didn't waste much time he gathered all his belongings into his briefcase and joined Tony as the door closed. He was disturbed by something, but what could that be? Maybe it was about Doris. No, she's alright. Didn't he leave her in a better condition? Sure he did. "Mr. Toe!" A feminine voice hollered, running after him. Though she might have called him for a long time, only what he heard mattered to us. He didn't stop immediately, he kept moving slowly. As the lady got close, they both walked in the same direction. "Hey, what's up, man? I've been calling you since you left the meeting room. You forgot your files on the chair." She handed them to him. He recalled he left the files while arranging his briefcase. "Thanks, I'll talk to you later." He walked past her, leaving her surprised by his new attitude. Yeah, the Mr. Toe they all knew was a friendly and open-minded person. She expressed her surprise by lifting her two hands and scowling as she watched him walk very fast to the exit door. Mr. Toe pushed the door open and walked very fast, skillfully avoiding people moving in the space. "Sorry, sorry, sorry," he said as he passed them. He walked straight to the receptionist. Mr Toe. Welcome. A beautiful lady in a white shirt and ponytail hairstyle welcomed him. "Yeah, welcome," he said, dropping his card on the counter and pushing it forward to her. She understood what he wanted she put her hand under and brought out a single piece of paper and handed it to him. He signed it and pushed it back to her. She confirmed and brought out what he wanted – his phone. If you may wonder what made him leave the phone there, then wonder no more. Before attending any meetings at SEVEN STAR, you must surrender your phones to avoid any kind of distraction. He took the phone from her and walked a few steps away from the receptionist section before pressing the keys. He was shocked to see a lot of missed calls pending on his screen. He clicked to view them all, noticing that his wife had called a few hours ago. He was worried. He avoided every other missed call and focused on Doris's. He called her phone and it ring, he felt relief, he thought everything was okay, he waited patiently for his wife to answer but he didn't get the answer. He called again, and there was no answer. He covered his face with his palm and brought it down in disappointment. His phone rang, he looked at the number carefully before responding by clicking the answer button. "Hello. Is this Mr Toes?" The caller asked with a lovely voice. "Yes, I'm Mr. Toes. How may I be of help?" he responded, his mind filled with a lot of thoughts. "I'm calling from your house." "My house!" he exclaimed, interrupting her words. "What happened?" he added anxiously, walking very fast to the door. "Can you at least let me finish?" She cautioned him. "Sorry for my behavior. You're free to continue." He apologizes. He slowed down. "I'm Belli, your Tency delivery. Your wife ordered goods from our company," she explained. "Upon arrival, I saw her sliding down slowly against the wall." "My wife?" he asked, his voice tinged with fear. "No! Let nothing happen to her!" His raised voice caught the attention of passersby, who wondered what was wrong with him. "What's wrong with her? Hope she's okay" He pushed the glass door open and walked out immediately. "I call an ambulance, and she's taken to Debest hospital. You can meet her there. That was all I could do to help." "Thanks, Belli. I will be there in a few minutes." He barreled to the park and got into his car, he zoomed into the street. Tobecontinue
