It's now a full day since I left Mr Drew Johnson's house, coming back to his home at night. I don't want to listen and follow Jerry's commands, but he gave me reasons to do so, he asked Tristan and Jeremy to tell the police team that works with them about me, so they're possibly going to be after me just as he said, and for the fact we also went for robbery today makes me a huge target because someway, the news about that robbery must definitely come up in the news, I really don't know why Jerry has to put me in a wanted status, if he wishes to delete me from the picture entirely, all he has to do is hand over the recorder to the police and that's all, I'm a criminal, for the fact he also has access to my mom makes the situation worse, if I ever decide to do the opposite of his command, then I'm just getting myself in great troubles than I already am.
I was still walking on the street back home, face down on the floor, reminiscing on how I got myself in such a mess within few hours of being a homeless kid, counting each step as I walk with both hands in my pants pocket, a car stopped by my side, drawing my attention to see who was in the car. It was Mr Drew's car, he came down from the vehicle and approached me, standing before me.
“ I know I'm a piss of sh*t, that's possibly what you believe I'm, me too, and for the fact I said all those words yesterday, I can't get to forgive myself if you haven't forgiven me.... I was a total coward, knowing what my wife can do, I still acted foolishly, ending up making you leave from home, I really don't know what to say or how to apologize about this, I'm really sorry from the bottom of my heart Bruno, I messed up, I really do.... If only I know how to make it up to you.....”.
I hugged him, I hugged him tight, not because of the way he came apologizing or that he was sorry for what happened yesterday night, I hugged him because it was because of him have I lived without this controversy going on about me right now, he was like a shelter, I was under his wings and found safety, only that I walked away for few minutes did I encounter the devil himself, the devil who acted from being a victim to being a villain, had I stayed back home, would I have encountered such a mess?.
I went inside his car and followed him home, I didn't speak with him, my lips were sealed, my mind somewhere else, thinking on how I am going to break free from this bondage and also help my mom out of ruin, Freddy gave me a phone which I left with, he told me that I will be contacted through it, so I should always keep it by my side. Mr Drew was speaking about something in the car but I was busy looking out the window that I never showed interest, he said something about reporting a missing person to the police, that he was searching for me ever Since I left last night, that wasn't my problem though, here I am, already back, but this time, I am carrying a lot of demons with me.
“ Why did you've to bring him back here?, Don't you see the news, they're searching for him everywhere, not because you went looking for a missing person, but because he was said to have something to do with the murder rumors going on, people f**king said they saw him with the victim last night Drew, why did you want to ruin this family by getting him back here!....”.
“ Shut up your mouth Angela, they called him a suspect or the want to ask him some questions, I don't bl**dy care, don't forget you was the reason he had to leave home last night, they saw him around the victim, and so what?, Does that mean that he has anything to do with the man's death?..... Should he be set for trial and with heartbreak he mentions that you've been maltreating him, that's why he had to leave home, what are you going to answer about that?, Tell me!!!......”.
I can hear their quarrel from the sitting room, they were raising their voices inside their room and I can hear all they were saying from here. If not for Jerry's order, I would have walked away from here for the second time, not concerned whether the police was after me or not, but with my current situation, I can't leave, I can't step outside, a reckless decision will cost my mom's life as well as get me imprisoned for robbing a bank, so I'm in a position where I am under Jerry's command, I have a limited space and I can't move more muscles than my given area.
Jerry is a genius, he's clever and is good with his mind games, his manipulations, I have no card to place on the table, I am nothing but a doll, moving under his control.
I can't see Emmanuel or Anya, they're possibly in their room, maybe already asleep, but here I am seated down on the couch with no idea in mind. The weekend ends tonight and by tomorrow I've to be in school, but looking from the situation I'm in, I can't even go to school, I am just stuck, not that I have to give reasons why I shouldn't be going tomorrow, no, Jerry set everything in a way even if I wanted to go to school, my uncle won't allow it, knowing the status I am in, the school might possibly report my whereabout, they can't come to my home to look for me because my uncle already reported in the station that I was missing, that means, no one knows where I am apart from Uncle Drew's family and the gangs, I also can't reveal myself because my mom's life was on the line, as well as my freedom.
