77 Burning Spell

“Who?” I raised my eyebrows and he seemed to have seen something as he pushed me aside. “Wait, behind you!” Haelyn ran to me, grabbing a knife and almost hitting me when an arrow shot from the door, hitting her hand and impaling her there. I frowned, not being able to see clearly. From the direction of the knife, I blinked. “Miss us?” a familiar figure asked, and I could only see the hair, but that voice never failed me. There was only one commanding voice of a woman that I knew had that voice. It was Alpha Kamilah. “It’s great to see you again, Kira,” Alpha Magnus said from beside her, leaning against the door. “Looks like you’re in pain, bitch,” said Alpha Kai as a girl came to me. “Kira, are you alright?” It was Irina and I smiled at her. She tried to put my hair behind my ear and caressed my cheek. “You are not hurt, are you?” “Guys, you’re here.” At that, I wanted to just burst into tears. I sighed in relief, feeling like the weight on my shoul- ders disappeared. I glanced at Ace across from me who was able to save me just in time earlier. He smiled at me and seeing that, I was reassured that everything would be alright. Suddenly, Ace vomited all over the floor, his vomit full of blood. I gasped, running to him when Irina stopped me. “We’ll handle Ace. Go and save your realm.” “But...” Then Alpha Magnus was beside him, assisting him. I nodded, letting them help. Thank goodness they had arrived in time. I blinked, now feeling that I was slowly regaining my sight. Ewe, I had thought that I would lose my eyesight right there. “I think we arrived a little bit late... sorry about that. We’ll save this damn alpha,” commented Alpha Magnus. “It’s alright, I am glad you arrived here.” “Of course, we won’t just let you be alone here,” Alpha Kamilah said, softly brushing my hand and then looking at my belly. “You’re pregnant?” I nodded. “Yes.” I looked at Irina. “And you have given birth already?” “Yes.” “How many months now? You look like you’ll give birth anytime,” said alpha Kamilah and I chuckled, not knowing what to reply. Because time was different here and I was not able to track it. I was not even sure if the moon was true here or just a fake projection made by the queen. I just shrugged and smiled back. “I will tell you the details next time. How did you manage to find us here and enter?” “We tracked his scent after his beta came to us for help.” Oh. Beta Markus did that? “Thank you.” I smile at them, then saw Ace in pain. “That must be the aftereffects of Haelyn’s spell.” Alpha Magnus cursed at that. “How come you always need my help when on the verge of death, Ace.” “Shut up, bastard,” Ace managed to reply to his friend through gritted teeth. He then groaned in pain. “We’ll take him to the pack doctor,” Irina said. I nodded. “I’ll deal with this realm. How’s the situation outside?” “Worse than this,” answered Kai. I nodded, and when I returned to the lower ground, everyone was in chaos. There were wolves everywhere, even the stringy scent of vampires. My nose scrunched smelling the burnt and decaying bodies. Just then, some masked random man blocked my way. Seemed that the council stopped me. “You bitch, where are you going! You killed our queen!” They had their wands ready and pointed at me, but then a hand told me to back away. “Ah, let me handle it.” He winked at me, and the smile showing the fangs of a certain being was evident. Gusev. This was the first time I had felt relieved that he was here. “Oh, there goes my favorite human. How are you doing?” he said, then motioned at my belly. “I can smell another pres- ence inside... so you are pregnant?” I nodded. “Yes.” “I feel like I had missed out on a lot of fun things... anyway, I am back now, did you miss me?” I glanced at the council in front of us. “Uhm, I don’t think we should talk right now...” Gusev rolled his eyes. “Leave them. You didn't recognize me back there at the council.” I cocked my head to the side, feeling confused. “Remember? I told you that you were interesting.” I blinked, that strange man there who was smirking the whole time. “That was you?” “Yes. I was on a mission and observed the queen that time.. and why are you so shocked? You know I can shapeshift.” “But how did you do that?” He put his finger on my lips. “Shush, enough questions. Go now.” I nodded, running to the eternal tree amidst all the happenings. Everyone was running around and the witches were being attacked. As much as I was just recently here, I should not forget my mother’s request to me. I must protect them and I could do that by going into the eternal tree. I first went into the eternal tree where I could see the fairies hiding inside, scared. I smiled at them. “Hi friends.” They looked at each other and gasped before landing on me. “Oh, the rightful queen is back,” they said to me, surrounding me in a pool of red light, glimmering around me like glitters. “Are you ready to take our throne?” they asked, and I nodded. “Very well.” After that, I felt like I had regained more mana than ever. I could feel energy surging inside me, and I could just point at something and it would burn. “Please, protect the realm. We are putting our trust in you, daughter of Queen Selyse. You are our only hope.” I nodded, bowing at them to show my gratitude. Next, I had to free Lana. But I did not know where they kept her. Suddenly, I felt a little kid nudging me and I saw Samira. Her eyes were teary as she clutched onto her teddy bear. “Princess Kira! You are back!” she exclaimed happily. “Let us free Lana!” She then directed me to an endless tunnel, leading to the dungeon. At the farthest end was Lana, looking so weak and sick as she sat on the ground. “Lana!” Samira exclaimed. “The princess is back!” Lana instantly sat upright. “I knew you would win.” I smirked. “Of course, you put your trust in me. Now stand back” I instantly burned the metal of the cell and let her out. I instantly realized the weight I had been carrying on my shoulders. I was their hope. “I apologize for being late and for dragging you into this mess, Lana, and Samira. Thank you for putting your hope in me.” “We believed that you could free us,” Lana said and smirked. “Show them what you trained for.” I nodded, preparing my hands and my fire. A familiar figure then came to me and as he neared me. It was Beta Markus as he bowed to me. “Luna Kira!” He was gasping for air. “I apologize, we only found you now.” I raised my eyebrows at him. “Took you long to save me, Markus. I had expected earlier than this.” “It was part of our plan. The alpha said not to intervene.” I nodded. “Then let’s go, I still have something to do.” I burned the whole place. Burning any spell that Haelyn managed to plant everywhere. I stood at the highest place and yelled. “Everyone,” I yelled, and when I still did not get their attention, Beta Markus growled, and Lana behind me offered to hold her wand for me. “Use this so they can hear you.” I nodded, so I used it like a microphone. I cleared my throat. “Dear witches of the Witch Realm. It is I, Princess Kira, daughter of the late Queen Selyse, standing here before you to claim my throne. I am going to save you from the harm that the past Queen Haelyn has caused you.” My voice echoed throughout the realm. Everyone just looked at me as if I was insane.
