80 Names
After a few days, Gusev finally grew tired and had missions to complete so he left. It had been a while since me and Ace were left alone. He stayed at the witch realm as he was still recovering. He wasn’t fully healed yet but he was acting strong and already up outside, cutting up logs. “You know I can do everything with a snap of my finger right? I can just cut those myself, Ace,” I said to him in the morning when I saw him already up and shirtless in the woods. “I know. But it helps me clear my mind,” Ace answered then sniffed the air. “I don’t smell any vampire scent, did Gusev finally leave?” I nodded. Ace had a smirk on his face and instantly hugged me and showered me kisses. “Finally, you’re all mine! It’s been a long time since we were left alone. What is your plan?” “I do not know. Can we stay a bit longer until I can fully resolve the realm?” I asked. “Yes, I will stay for you as long as it takes. Our baby is also protected here, as much as I hate to say it.” “What about the pack?” I asked. If he were to stay here longer, I worry about the Crimson Pack. They need him there too. “Markus is taking care of them.” “Tsk, an alpha leaving his own pack. It won't take long until Markus will be enthroned to be rightful alpha,” I teased him. This is an added job for Markus and I could only imagine him sighing and keeping it together. It must be hard for him too. Silence came as Ace continued on cutting his logs and I watched him silently. Then, the thought of informing him about my powers struck me. At this point, he still didn’t know about it. I had to inform him. “Uhm Ace? I have to reveal something to you.” “About what?” I knew that I had to keep it secret but Ace had the right to know. He’s my mate after all. And besides, Mother seemed to have approved of it. “My powers. I can go back to the past and to the future.” He paused. “Baby, you must still be tied from laboring. Rest up—” “I am serious. That is how I defeated Haelyn.” “Oh...” “Yes, oh.” “How did you know?” I started to explain the vision to him at the time. Ace listened intently. “I didn’t expect that you would carry that much power.” He then put his finger on me. “Don’t you ever dare say this to anyone. Not even Arya, Gusev, nobody. This stays between us.” I nodded. “Good. I don’t want to endanger you and our baby.” “There’s a chance he might inherit that power. And that might add to his risk. Being a tri-blood is already bad news for the werewolf world.” I nodded. We stared in silence. “You know this is the first time that werewolves and vampires have joined in a war, vampires saving the humans from witches, and now, werewolves staying in a witch realm. What happened today is a mark on history.” “Were you shocked when you knew that I was a witch?” I can’t help but ask him. This has been bugging me for a while now. “At first, I had my doubts, I had half suspected it honestly. So that explains those moments when you could control your thoughts and block them from me. There were times when I was puzzled and wondered how I couldn’t read you and your mind. However, I didn’t know that you would be the princess and eventually become a queen. You're a queen in the Witch Realm, a Luna to the Crimson Pack, and a queen to me.” “You forgot another role. I am also a mother of our baby and your mate... that won’t change anything.” He then hugged me. “Were you scared? Being kidnapped here and doing everything on your own while being pregnant? And I was controlled by that crazy witch like a toy?” “No. All I could feel was anger. I had pent-up anger that I couldn't think of crying. And I had our baby at that time, so I had to think for the both of us.” Ace stared deeply into my eyes, listening to my words intently. “You’re the strongest person that I have ever met. Do you know how much I love you? So much that it hurts me.” I smiled, rubbing my nose together with him as he kissed my forehead. “I love you too, Ace. He chuckled. “I can’t believe that we are finally going to be a family. I promise, I’ll treat you and our son so good that you won’t even doubt my love for you.” I knew Ace would fulfill that promise, and he would certainly do a great job at being a father. Waking up every day was not as depressing as it used to be. Since our baby was born, I woke up feeling lighter and happier. And I’d never been contented more in life than now. He was our ray of sunshine. As soon as I woke up smiling, I would cuddle with Ace and we’d spend the whole morning just embracing each other’s arms and talked about our future. After that, I would go to the nursery that Ace made for our baby. The room was simple and adorable. With wood carvings and more cushions and mats so that when he grew up, he would not get full of wounds and stumble around. Ah, the thought of a child running around a house excited me. But our baby still hadn’t grown. He was still a delicate baby and only a month old. I was taking extra care when dealing with him. Plus, we still hadn’t chosen a name for our baby. So it had been a month since we had been calling him our baby. I tried to list names, but I am still stressing over what to name him. I thought I could name him Selyse if he were a girl... after my mother. Ah, I didn’t know it would be this hard to pick a name. I hadn’t thought about it since long ago when I was pregnant and I wished I had. “Awe, my cutie little patootie. Am I your favorite uncle?” I paused, hearing the voice and the stinky smell of vampires. I instantly knew it. Gusev is here again. The door of the nursery was left ajar and I saw Samira frozen seeing me. “Samira,” I called out to her and she panicked. “Yes, Your Highness?” “Did you just let a random vampire inside the nursery? Gosh, where are the guards I assign here?” “Uhm... he gave me sweets.” “Ah, he bribed you.” I sighed, as expected Gusev would think of that. I decided to let Samira off and entered the nursery to find Gusev kissing and hugging my baby. I glared at him. “You’re here. Thought you would be busy handling other matters?” “I finished everything earlier so I could come and visit this cute little guy here,” Gusev said, carrying my baby in his arms. “It’s his nap time,” I muttered strictly. “And you, my queen, need to calm down. I promise not to do anything,” Gusev said with a deep bow. He then read my expression. “You seem troubled, Your Highness.” I scoffed. “It just bothers me that I still don’t have a name for him.” “I told you to go for my name just like last time I suggested. He would sound fashionable.” I rolled my eyes. “You think Ace would let me? And no. Your name sounds too old.” He pouted, finding my words harsh. “Old? My name sounds old?” He looked so hurt. “Fine, I am going to bless you with my knowledge then.” Gusev decided it was best that we tour while we thought. I decided to ask Lana to look after my baby. I trusted her enough plus Ace seemed to be awake at this time. They would have a son and father moment. Also, I thought it would be best to see how I managed the kingdom. Some children paused to greet me as they happily skipped on the streets. “Good morning, Your Highness!” “You look beautiful, Your Highness!” they complimented and I just smiled at them. I paid tribute to the fairies by the eternal tree and they sang a gentle song for me. I couldn’t help but compare everything. The realm looked much calmer and much more peaceful—in harmony now. I had ordered to build more facilities so the witches could enjoy their time more. I had added a library and ordered every little witch to be taught spells at seven years old. The school that I was plan- ning was currently being built and I was excited to visit it soon. I also added more guards for the security of the kingdom. As for the papers lying in my office, I had Lana listing them since I didn’t have any clue about them. I had to approve new spells, forbid some books, remove draught in an area, and oh, I had to pay homage to the past witches. I guess being the queen was such a hard job. I wondered how my mother managed her time. I couldn’t even read or speak Latin, which they used. Well, I was still in the process of learning but it was hard. I was also perfecting my craft and powers so that when someone tried to attack us in the future, then I would have something to rely on. I would casually slip into the past, visit the future to see how my child and the realm would be... and make sure they were in good hands. Right now, I could only travel as far as a year in the future. While I could go back to the past to the time of my mother. I honestly got sick having to see my mother and father’s moments so I tried to stop going there for now. One thing I wondered was if my child had inherited my power too. I wondered how he’d grow up. He might have to choose between being the heir to my realm or Ace’s pack. We still hadn’t talked about that issue as I believe that would create an argument between us.Download Novelah App
