Being a father had not been easy, but I was aware that Kira's job was three times harder than mine.
We had been busy every day, managing our own realms and balancing our time with our family. I would try to visit Kira’s realm, while Kira, my beloved, would try to visit my pack as Adrian was training there.
I could see Kira sometimes feeling tired, but I am happy that she’s enjoying her current life. "Ah, baby, I miss you so much.”
"Why are you here? You were at the pack, right?” Her eyes fluttered open and blinked, now noticing my presence. She might have noticed that I was supposed to be here next week.
"You don't miss me?" I pouted. I could only show this side of mine to her.
She rolled her eyes." I thought you would not be back for a week?"
"Just dropped by to get a power hug. Now I'm fully charged." I grinned proudly as if I had accomplished something.
Suddenly, her phone beeped, signaling a text message from Markus.
‘Luna Kira, it seems that your mate has disappeared from his duties again. Please return him.’
Reading the message, she raised her eyebrows at me. "You ditched work again, did you?" I smirked.
"No. I finished half of the papers and listened to the pack
member's inquiries. I did half of my job already," I clarified, explaining my side. I don't want to hear a lecture today.
She laughed at that. “But you didn’t finish your work before coming here. Don’t forget your role, Lycan King. Everyone relies on you.”
"I'm tired, baby," I said, goofy mood now gone.
“Alright, I’ll drop it, but how’s Adrian? Is he strong enough to take your role as the alpha?”
I chuckled. “He’s still learning. He’s a bit behind compared to when I was his age.”
“Don’t be too hard on him,” Kira reminded me. She’d always worry about Adrian’s health, our eldest. It was obvious that she couldn’t even sleep at night ever since she let him go to his alpha training at the Crimson Pack.
Well, Adrian was also entering puberty so his hormones must be all over.
“He didn’t fight with you, did he?” Kira suddenly brought up, and I shook my head. “He just really takes after you. Seeing him reminds me of when you were first staying at the pack. Reckless, disobedient, and immature.”
We have been having a hard time keeping Adrian safe, especially since he’s a tri-blood. A lot have been having a hard time accepting him as my heir to my throne, since this has never happened before.
But most of all, what I’m worrying is how Adrian is adapting. He seemed to have an identity crises and as parents, we don’t know how to guide him simply because we don’t know how to handle his kind.
“We’ll need to visit Kamilah, she’s been keeping a tri- blood there. I hope she could guide us on how to raise him well,” Kira suddenly mentioned.
“Are you sure that is the sole reason or you just miss Alpha Kamilah?”
She grinned. “Ah, you caught me. I miss her, and also Irina. I wonder how they are doing.”
I nodded, of course, she formed a connection with those two she-wolves in the past.
“Fine, I’ll make time tomorrow. Let’s visit them, I also have business with Alpha Kai. I have to tell him that he has been appointed as the elder for the West Region.”
She smiled. “Thank you, my dear.” Then she blinked, “And elder? So Alpha Kai would rule the West region?”
I nodded. “Yes, baby. The decision was final and everyone already agreed.”
I licked my lips, watching how Kira’s gaze fell on me. I couldn’t resist those beautiful eyes. She's not even doing anything yet here I am, completely wrapped around her fingers. I just want to savor her more since we seldom see each other. I have to make my visit here worthwhile.
I had been mateless for the past decades ago, and I had learned to accept that perhaps I might have been destined to be alone. However, who knew that I, the great Lycan King, would have a half human, half witch as my mate?
I realize that every moment of obsession, every trial and tribulation, has led me to this profound sense of contentment. With her love as my anchor, I am whole. In her presence, I find my purpose, my fulfillment. For in loving Kira, I have discovered the true essence of life itself. If the Moon Goddess were to play with my fate again, and remove her from my life, then I’ll steal the moon and turn the world upside down just to find her. Whatever happens, I’ll always find her. I am hers, and she is mine. My distress mate.
