76 Blind

Nah, I want to stay and watch you,” I said, and she glared at me. We stayed behind, her still complaining about my existence having no idea until the man stopped firing his guns and faced in our direction, who he was. “Who is there?” As soon as he snapped his head to us, I knew it was my father... so this is the start of their encounter. Young Haelyn here stalking my father. Great. Haelyn was rooted to the spot, as she glared at me, and my father shot another tree. “Speak up or I’ll kill you.” Just then, my mother appeared out of nowhere beside us. She looked younger too. Same features but looked more innocent. She had a crown on her head so I was guessing she was already throned as the queen. “What are you doing in the human realm?” she asked Haelyn and I cocked my head to the side. They already knew each other... I was guessing they were friends already. “Oh, I was curious,” Haelyn answered as she stared at Ceylan. “C’mon, you shouldn't be here. We must return now or the council will kill us.” Mother grabbed Haelyn’s hand, then saw me. I gulped, I thought she couldn't see me but she smiled at me, her eyes seemed to recognize me. “Hello there,” she greeted. I awkwardly smiled at her. “Hi there.” Her eyes narrowed at me, a small smile on her face as she winked. I blinked, cleared my throat, and avoided her. Damn, looked like my mom had already figured out how I’d look. “You know this girl? Damn, I was almost caught—” Haelyn was not able to finish as a deep man’s voice inter- vened behind us. “Why are three women here in the woods?” I froze, seeing my father up close. He looked younger and much more handsome than the last time I saw him in the mirror. Haelyn was so red, like a tomato, and stammering while mother stood her ground. I hadn't noticed that we had changed into long dresses, dressing like the 80s commoner. “Oh, we seem to be lost.” My mother was calm as she said that reason. “You must be one of the farmer’s daughters. I am quite new here and training myself. I apologize if I scared you off with my gun,” my father said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I am Ceylan by the way,” he introduced himself. “I am Haelyn,” Haelyn answered and my mother gave her a look not to say her real name. “What about you?” asked my father, obviously interested in my mother now and not bothering to hide it. “Selyse.” “What a beautiful name for a beautiful maiden like you,” he commented and I cringed. “Have you returned from your harvest?” my father asked, seemingly interviewing my mother. He seemed to be inter- ested in her from the start while my clueless Mom answered him confidently. “Yes, forgive us for intervening, we just wanted to have a look. My sister here is just curious about the gun.” “Ah, this? I use this to hunt the witches as this area is being attacked by the witches,” he said. “Careful on your way home, we have received a report of the woman going missing.” I gulped, seeing how ironic this was. Well, Father, if only I could say to you that you are talking to the witches right now. I held myself back, knowing that would break the moment and history. Haelyn was gawking at my father while my father was looking at my mother. Damn, seeing this love triangle up close was awkward. They continued chatting and when my father was finished, we said our goodbyes and I followed my mother. “What is your name? You keep on following us,” said Haelyn. “Shh, that’s not nice. You are welcome to follow us.” My mother then scolded her. “I still have to scold you for coming here. Never return into this world, alright?” Haelyn sighed. “Yes, Queen Selyse... but that man's handsome, is he not?” The scene changed and I saw Haelyn talking with my father at the same spot. “Ceylan,” she called out to my father. “I like you... Please, won’t you return my feelings?” My father turned around to face her. “I appreciate it, but I could only see you as a friend, Haelyn.” Haelyn breathed deeply. “A friend? What? You’re in love with someone else?”’ My father nodded. “Yes, I am in love with your friend.” “That’s bullshit. I did everything for you. I was with you the whole time! You never even seen her!” “She comes here often.” Haelyn paused and bit her lip. “That bitch!” She then ran into the old building which looked aban- doned, but there were a few men inside carrying different types of pistols, machine guns, and armor. They seemed to be in a meeting when Haelyn cleared her throat for their attention. They noticed Haelyn and blinked. “What is a woman doing here? Leave this place.” “There is a member that is a traitor,” she suddenly blurted out. “Your member is loving a witch, and spilling secrets to the witches. Don’t you feel sad about that?” I instantly grabbed Haelyn, knocking her down as I pushed her. “Who are you!” she glared at me. “I am your karma.” I smiled at her, hitting her and feeling fire around me. “A witch!” she yelled for help. “There is a witch!” “Shh, got to be quiet, now.” I pushed the fire on her face and burned her. Her screams were the only thing I could hear. I wanted to see her all burned up but the scenery changed and I was back in the present. I could see the queen had a burned face now as she clenched her jaw. “You bitch, you did this to me!” I could feel my eyesight getting dim, and I was reminded of the consequences of using the power... I could go blind. But whatever, it had to be done, and I didn’t have any regrets. I managed to have more energy to create more fire and burn the whole place down. I surrounded everything with fire as smoke was everywhere. “Ace, get her!” But Ace was just standing, and instead of coming to me, he went to the drag queen and snapped her hands. The queen yelled in pain as Ace came to me. I felt tears falling, seeing him come to my side. “My Kira, I apologize for only acting now.” His gaze was back, and he looked deeply into my eyes. I smiled at him. “You said to wait for you.” I had waited for this, I had always believed it would even- tually happen. And now it was happening, he was free from his chains. He did not hesitate and embraced me. “I am glad you are still alive. I apologize for hitting you, I had to do that. I could not move even though I resisted, I was fighting her spell, and when you weakened her, I could finally control myself.” I put my finger on his lips. “Shh, at least you aren’t under a spell now.” He nodded, his eyes tearing up, then he made me stand up. “They’re coming.”
