They say, that on average, a human being tells one to two lies a day. And that people often lie to protect the other from the truth. But for some reason, I wasn't protecting him rather I was protecting myself, my pride, my dignity. The cost of it? 5 lies. 
Hi, I'm Jae-seong and you'll be reading this book from my perspective from this chapter on.
"We're not", I said without hesitation. 
"There's no way in hell that we're dating when I'm still not calling off the competition", I continued knowing fully these are lies. 
"I don't even like him that way", I added trying to make it sound believable. 
"We recently just got close to each other", of course the old excuse to save my ass. 
"Just because we're both trainees and have to spend time together during training", the final lie to save my dumb self.
And to my surprise, Yuta nodded believing everything I just said. "Let's just go back up and prepare for the activities", Yuta said and of course I nodded following him. I went straight to my bedroom and closed the door. What the hell did I even do. The deed has been done, why am I feeling guilty now? It was just 5 lies, how bad could that be?
"Jae", Ten called knocking on my door. "Yes", I asked trying not to act suspicious. "The school head announced to wear swimwear and bring extra clothes", Ten said entering my room. I just nodded and smiled at him before he left. Fuck this. Whatever. I'll just avoid him for the mean time. Just until this trip is over, I'll think of an excuse then. I’ll just prepare my things and get this day over with. “Be ready in 10 minutes! We better get going”, Taeyong exclaimed. I just want everyone to shut up for a minute I can’t gather my thoughts properly.
We finally arrived at our destination. Ten kept on bugging me earlier to sit with him at the back, luckily Lucas stepped in and sat beside him. I ended up sitting beside Jaehyun and leaning my head against his shoulder. Well here we are now at Hyeopjae Beach. What the hell are we even gonna do here?
We gathered at the beach area and there the school head took the stage again. "So you're all probably wondering what we're doing in a wonderful beach", he announced. Well duh. Obviously. "We don't have any more activity today other than having our awarding ceremony", he continued which made me roll my eyes. Just get this over with already.
"I also instructed you to bring extra clothes because we will be spending the night here. Mr. Lee Taeyong was generous enough to get us tents and set up a fireworks display tonight at exactly 9pm. He also organized a party for tonight. Today we will enjoy ourselves", the school head announced which made the people here cheer. Just hope there will be alcohol.
"Without further ado, let's recognize the winners", he said which made me lose my interest. Of course I already know my group is in first. All the groups in top 5 went up the stage one by one. Good thing they're not giving away shabby prizes. Knowing Taeyong, it's prolly cash. But anyways, here it comes.
"And for our champions, you already know who they are", he said which made me stand up and walked towards the stage. They gave us all medals and of course, it's cash. I am so ready to get down this stage when he stopped us. "Before you go down, we have a special award for the most valuable player. This was determined through activeness in participation and the one with the most contributions to the group. This person showed the best leadership and communication skill and used it to it's full potential", the school head said.
"This person is none other than Jung Jae-seong, please step forward and claim your special prize", he said which ultimately shocked me. I've done almost nothing what the hell even? But nevertheless, I stepped forward and thanked him. And of course, the special prize is still cash, lucky. 
Well now that's done with, I could finally get off this stage and remove this cover up. "Thank you all for your participation in this year's retreat. This has been a wonderful experience with you and I hope you enjoyed as well. You may now take this opportunity to do whatever you want and consider this as your celebratory day", he announced as everyone went wild.
Finally I can now take off this cover up. But as soon as I did, many eyes immediately laid on me. "Hey! Why are you wearing a 2-piece", my brother exclaimed. "Because I want to", I teased smiling at him. "At least keep this on", he said handing me back my cover up. "N...O", I said in the sassiest way possible as I walked pass him.
