98: End
Me and Mark searched all over for Ten. I kept stumbling but he didn't gave up on me. I don't know if this is really a good idea, to search for someone when I'm not really feeling well. Let alone talking to the person once we find him. "Stop! This is hopeless", I whined sitting on the sand. "Just a little bit more. Jae-seong please. I promised that we'll find him", Mark said pulling me up. "I'm so tired. I don't want to move an inch anymore", I continued to whine.
"Come on now, we have 10 more minutes before the fireworks start", Mark said still pulling me up. "Fine fine", I said before standing back up. "Where are you planning to look now", I asked him trying so hard to hide my wobbly legs. "I don't know", Mark answered frustrated. "What's the plan now", I asked again. "It would be easier if we split up but I don't want to leave you alone", he said massaging his forehead.
"Oh please I can handle myself", I said waving in front of his face. "Are you sure", he asked. "Of course! A hundred and one percent", I exclaimed. "Well, alright then. Just make sure we keep in touch. Once I call you, you won't put down the phone, understood", Mark said taking small steps as he walkes away. "Yes sir", I responded smiling and giving him a thumbs up. That was when he ran as fast as he could.
Once I was sure he was far away, I started walking little by little making sure I don't fall over. Luckily, there were little to no people in this area that we reached. I don't even know how to go back now. We've reached this far now there's no one to guide me back. I guess this is what stray animals feel like, but in my case, I was willingly dragged her and was willingly left as well.
Not even a minute passing by, I feel my phone vibrating. "Jae! You find him yet", Mark immediately asked as soon as I picked up. "We've only separated for seconds goddamnit give me a break", I said still taking small steps. "Well don't hang up on me now so I can monitor you", Mark said panting. "Yada yada yada whatever you say", I said teasing him. "Hey! This isn't a time to joke around", Mark scolded through the phone which made me laugh. "Fine fine, I'll get serious again", I said looking straight ahead.
As I continued to walk, shadows that looks like shaped like a human from behind the rocks. "Jae", Mark kept calling but I didn't answer. I slowly walked my way through the rocky path and followed the shadows. "Hey! Jung Jae-seong! Answer me right now", Mark yelled through the phone but I didn't do it. I did what he told me not to do. I hung up and continued to walk through the rocky path. As I got closer I'm starting to hear voices. The moment I reached the place where the shadows were was the moment I regretted the most.
"Y-you", I said catching their attention. "No Jae, it's not what it looks like", Ten said. "I've been looking everywhere for you and the very moment I find you, I see you with another girl, and you can't deny the fact that she's hugging you", I exclaimed as I dropped my phone and holding unto my chest. Tears started forming in my eyes but I could care less about it. "No Jae let me explain", Ten said as he was trying to remove the girl that's clinging unto his torso.
Just as he was about to set free from the girl, someone suddenly covered my eyes. I don't know who but I don't care anymore. At this very moment, I want to disappear, I want to vanish from the world. Everyone I've ever loved always ends up doing the same thing to me. What did I even do to deserve this?
I have suffered enough and even now going through extreme lengths just to maybe, hopefully, possibly, set things right with the person that brings me so much joy. It probably is my fault I am suffering now, if I hadn’t pushed him away, if I didn’t have to protect Yuta’s feelings, we would have been alright. Yeah, it’s probably my fault he’s unto another girl that quick after giving him attitude.
I am having a hard time to breath, but I don't care. If I would die right here, right now, it would be best. And just then, I heard loud explosions. Probably the fireworks already. But after the first three explosions, I heard nothing. Oddly enough, I only heard ringing. It got harder to breathe by the second but it was the least of my worries. And to my last breath, I heard it. I heard him call out my name for the last time.
