**Chapter 16: The Dark Revelation**
Amid the quiet pursuit of truth and the blossoming of an unexpected romance, Marcus's determination led him to an unsettling discovery – a revelation that would shatter illusions and expose the sinister depths of Anthony's malevolence.
Late one night, when the campus was cloaked in shadows and the air was thick with tension, Marcus found himself standing outside the door of Anthony's dorm room. Armed with the knowledge he had pieced together and driven by an unrelenting need to protect those he cared about, he had resolved to confront the source of the darkness.
He knocked softly, a mix of apprehension and determination coursing through him. Moments later, the door swung open, revealing Anthony's facade of charm. "Marcus, what brings you here at this hour?"
Marcus's gaze was unwavering as he locked eyes with the man before him. "I know who you really are, Anthony. And I won't let your darkness consume this campus any longer."
A chilling smile curved Anthony's lips, his demeanor shifting from charm to menace. "You're quite the determined hero, aren't you? But do you truly understand what you're up against?"
Without hesitation, Marcus stepped forward, his voice resolute. "I know enough to recognize evil when I see it. I know about the deaths that have been occurring on campus, the darkness you've been unleashing."
Anthony's laughter echoed through the dimly lit room, sending shivers down Marcus's spine. "Oh, Marcus, you've only scratched the surface. There's a power within me that you can't comprehend."
As Anthony's eyes glowed with an eerie light, Marcus felt a surge of dread wash over him. He had to stand firm, to unveil the truth that had been concealed for so long.
"You're a demon, Anthony," he declared, his voice firm. "A creature of darkness that preys on innocent lives."
Anthony's facade cracked, his expression contorting with a mixture of anger and amusement. "And yet, you think you can stop me?"
With a swift motion, Anthony summoned a dark energy that crackled in the air, sending a shockwave towards Marcus. Instinct kicked in, and Marcus's own magic flared to life, shielding him from the malevolent force.
As the two forces clashed, the room seemed to quiver with their power, an ominous battle of light and darkness that hung in the balance.
"You won't win, Anthony," Marcus asserted, his voice resonating with determination. "This darkness ends now."
The room trembled as their powers clashed, and in that moment, Marcus realized the gravity of the battle he was waging. Anthony was a force unlike any other he had encountered, a malevolence that had hidden in plain sight.
And as the battle raged on, Marcus knew that the revelation of Anthony's true identity was just the beginning – a prelude to a confrontation that would test his own strength, his loyalty, and the very essence of the magic that bound them all.

When a novel in poetry is done well, it is incredibly fulfilling. They don't often work for me, to be perfectly honest. My eyes tend to skim the lines, which causes me to finish quickly—which I appreciate—but I feel like I don't really retain much of what I read. Or, I feel that the structure doesn't do the story justice; I want more but the format doesn't allow for it. Thankfully, neither was always the case with this title (more on that later). The author deserves so much appreciation for this
