**Chapter 26: The Final Battle** The night air was thick with tension, a storm brewing on the horizon as dark clouds gathered overhead. Within the heart of the campus, Marcus and Francine stood side by side, their gazes fixed on the ominous figure that emerged from the shadows – Anthony, his sinister intentions radiating like a palpable aura. With a twisted smile, Anthony's voice carried an eerie edge as he spoke, "You thought you could defeat me, didn't you? But you're mistaken if you believe you can escape the wrath of a demon." Marcus's grip tightened on his sword, his expression resolute. "We won't let your darkness consume this campus any longer." Francine's magic hummed at her fingertips, her stance unwavering. "Your reign of terror ends here, Anthony." A malicious laugh echoed through the air as Anthony's form seemed to shift, his eyes glowing with an unnatural light. "You two have grown bold, haven't you? But your love won't save you from my power." As the battle commenced, Anthony's demonic abilities manifested, casting shadows that seemed to dance in defiance of the moonlight. Dark tendrils of energy surged toward Marcus and Francine, their movements calculated and relentless. Marcus deftly parried the attacks with his sword, each clash ringing out like a symphony of steel against darkness. His determination was unwavering, fueled by the desire to protect not only Francine but also the campus that had become their sanctuary. Meanwhile, Francine's magic crackled in the air, her spells a dance of light and energy that countered the darkness with an unwavering determination. Her eyes blazed with resolve as she channeled the power inherited from her aunt, harnessing it to shield herself and Marcus from Anthony's onslaught. With every strike, every spell, their bond seemed to strengthen, a shared purpose that burned brighter than the darkest of shadows. They fought as one, each movement a reflection of their unity and the love that fueled their determination. Amidst the chaos, Anthony's laughter rang out like a haunting melody. "You may fight well, but you can't defeat the power that courses through my veins." Marcus's voice was fierce, his eyes blazing with resolve. "Our love is a power stronger than any darkness you wield. It's a force that will bring an end to your reign." As their battle raged on, a crescendo of magic and steel colliding, it became evident that the battle was not just physical, but a clash of ideologies – the darkness against the light, fear against love. Marcus's grip on his sword tightened, determination burning in his eyes. "We'll stop you, Anthony. Your reign of terror ends now." Francine's magic hummed at her fingertips, her resolve unwavering. "Your malevolence won't prevail against the strength of our bond." A sinister chuckle echoed through the night as Anthony's form seemed to blur, his eyes glowing with an unnatural intensity. When a novel in poetry is done well, it is incredibly fulfilling. They don't often work for me, to be perfectly honest. My eyes tend to skim the lines, which causes me to finish quickly—which I appreciate—but I feel like I don't really retain much of what I read. Or, I feel that the structure doesn't do the story justice; I want more but the format doesn't allow for it. Thankfully, neither was always the case with this title (more on that later). The author deserves so much appreciation for this
