**Chapter 10: The Curse's Origin** Amidst the growing distance between Francine and Marcus, a revelation of monumental proportions was about to unfold, one that would shake the foundation of their lives and bring hidden truths to light. One evening, as the moon hung low in the sky, casting a silver glow over the campus, Marcus found himself alone in the library. He had been researching the history of his family, driven by an unexplainable urge to delve into the past. As he poured over dusty tomes, he stumbled upon a forgotten journal, its pages filled with handwritten entries that seemed to hold the key to a long-buried secret. As he read the pages, a sense of shock and disbelief washed over him. The words revealed a truth that seemed too fantastical to be real – Marcus was not just an ordinary student; he was a cursed prince. The journal detailed a feud between his family and a rival clan, a feud that had resulted in a terrible curse placed upon him as an infant. "Impossible," Marcus whispered to himself, his heart racing. "This can't be true." Intrigued by the possibility of finding answers, Marcus continued to read, uncovering the story of a powerful witch who had cast the curse as vengeance for an old grudge. The curse was meant to strip him of his true identity and leave him as a reflection of his family's shame. As the weight of the revelation sank in, Marcus couldn't help but draw a connection between his own history and the transformation that had befallen Francine. The realization hit him like a lightning bolt – the curse, the transformation, it was all intertwined, a web of magic and destiny that bound their fates together. With newfound determination, Marcus decided he had to share this revelation with Francine, to bridge the gap that had formed between them and unveil the truth that had been hidden for so long. Days later, he found Francine sitting on a bench by the campus fountain, lost in thought. Taking a deep breath, he approached her cautiously. "Francine," he began, his voice steady, "there's something I need to tell you." She looked up, surprise flickering in her eyes. "Marcus? What is it?" He sat down beside her, his heart pounding. "I've discovered something, something about myself and our pasts." Curiosity mixed with wariness in her gaze. "What have you found?" Taking a deep breath, he began to recount the tale he had uncovered – the curse, the old feud, and his true identity as a cursed prince. With each word, her eyes widened, and disbelief painted her features. "Marcus, this is... unbelievable," she whispered, her voice filled with a mixture of shock and sympathy. He nodded, his expression grave. "I know it's a lot to take in, but I needed you to know the truth. Our lives are intertwined in ways we never imagined." As the weight of his revelation settled between them, silence hung in the air. The truth was both a revelation and a burden, and they both knew that their journey was far from over. With newfound understanding, Marcus and Francine faced a future that was more complex and intertwined than they could have ever imagined. The secrets of their pasts had been unveiled, and the choices they made would shape their destinies in ways they could never predict. **Subchapter: The Hidden Legacy** As days turned into nights, and the distance between Francine and Marcus grew, a revelation of profound significance began to unravel. One evening, under the soft glow of the moon, Marcus found himself deep within the labyrinthine aisles of the campus library. Ancient tomes and forgotten scrolls surrounded him, as if holding the secrets of generations past. His search for answers led him to an old journal, its pages yellowed with age, but its words were a link to a hidden legacy. As he read the delicate script, his eyes widened in disbelief. The journal held a tale that seemed more like fantasy than reality – Marcus was not just a college student, he was a cursed prince. His family's history was tainted by an age-old feud, and the curse was the bitter fruit of that enmity, a curse that had been placed upon him since infancy. "No, this can't be true," Marcus murmured to himself, his heart racing as he turned page after page. The journal unveiled a saga of vengeance and betrayal, revealing how a powerful witch had woven a curse in retaliation for a long-standing feud between Marcus's family and a rival clan. The curse was meant to erase his true identity, leaving him a shell of his royal lineage. The more Marcus read, the more the pieces fell into place. His own past was a reflection of the transformation that Francine had undergone, a revelation that sent shivers down his spine. With a newfound sense of purpose, he knew he had to share this truth with Francine, to bridge the chasm that had developed between them and expose the threads that connected their fates. Days later, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting an orange hue over the campus, Marcus found Francine seated on a bench by the tranquil pond. He approached, his heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and anxiety. "Francine," he began, his voice steady but laden with emotion, "there's something I've discovered, something about both of us." She looked up, curiosity and surprise flickering in her eyes. "Marcus, what is it?" Taking a seat beside her, he took a deep breath, the weight of his revelation almost tangible. "I've uncovered a truth about our pasts, something that ties us together in ways we never imagined." As he began to recount the story he had unearthed – the curse, the ancient feud, and his true identity as a cursed prince – her eyes widened, a mix of disbelief and sympathy in her gaze. "Marcus, this is... beyond anything I could have imagined," she whispered, her voice a mere breath in the evening air. He nodded, his gaze steady. "I know it's a lot to take in. But I felt you deserved to know the truth, no matter how incredible it may seem." Their silence hung heavy for a moment, the weight of the revelation settling over them like a shroud. The past that had been veiled was now exposed, and their futures were irrevocably intertwined. With newfound understanding, Marcus and Francine embarked on a journey that would lead them into a world of magic, curses, and family legacies. The road ahead was uncertain, but armed with the truth, they faced their intertwined destinies with newfound strength and determination.

When a novel in poetry is done well, it is incredibly fulfilling. They don't often work for me, to be perfectly honest. My eyes tend to skim the lines, which causes me to finish quickly—which I appreciate—but I feel like I don't really retain much of what I read. Or, I feel that the structure doesn't do the story justice; I want more but the format doesn't allow for it. Thankfully, neither was always the case with this title (more on that later). The author deserves so much appreciation for this
