Chapter 51.

Maudy woke up from her nightmare. She was panting after running as hard as she could. In her dream, it was as if she were being chased by someone, even though she couldn't see because it was dark. She knew that the person was a boy or a girl. I don't know how Maudy can have nightmares; maybe she's been watching too many action films lately. Maybe, he thought. Indeed, a few days ago he also had a dream, and as if the dream were real, he always woke up if something happened to him, like a few days ago when he almost fell into a ravine, and now he almost got hit by a car. He took another deep breath, stopped his movements, and momentarily normalised his heartbeat, which was beating fast enough that he even felt short of breath. Once again, Maudy took a breath and then let it out slowly and regularly.
Actually, what happened to me? He asked, muttering to himself. Because he doesn't know why he always gets nightmares that are almost the same, the problem is that these dreams repeat themselves. It's not a problem that dreams are flowers of sleep and are just the imagination of the subconscious, but it's more than that; every time he's tired, he will dream, and it's always the same dream. The same. Maudy couldn't sleep anymore. She took a diary and a book that she wanted to read because, because she spent time with her father yesterday, she forgot to continue reading.
Maudy looked at the clock on her nightstand and saw that it was already half past three in the morning. He chose to write and read books, took his reading glasses, and started writing them one by one. As a result, in the morning, he fell asleep and continued sleeping without realising that the sun had risen.
"Maudy," called the mother from outside. But there was no answer, so his mother was quite worried.
Maudy never got up late in the morning, even though she slept quite late, and this was the first time her mother was naturally worried.
"What's wrong, Mom? asked Maudy's father.
"Maudy hasn't woken up yet. He said in surprise that Maudy's father just frowned. It's not that he doesn't care; his child must be sleeping late, so according to the father, it's normal. However, her mother, who was quite overworked, made her father have to knock on Maudy's door too.
"How are you?" he asked. His father shook his head, making Maudy's mother panic even more.
"Just leave him alone, ma'am. Later, we'll wake him up a little later. He'll definitely sleep late; that's natural. Just leave him alone, ma'am," said the father again.
"But mom's scared, because Maudy still takes medicine sometimes; I'm afraid she'll feel sick or something like that, and she might just—
"Mom, just calm down! Don't panic too much. Maudy could even be sleeping soundly, and mom would already be having a heart attack here. said the father.
"Maudy was never like this, okay?"
"I know, but he could be sleeping. Just leave him alone; we'll wake him up after half past ten if he's not awake. Reply: The father explained. Like it or not, Maudy's mother obeyed Maudy's father's words.
Meanwhile, Maudy slept soundly after midnight and woke up until dawn; even in the morning, she had just fallen asleep. It's normal, because anyone will be exhausted if they have bad dreams and can't sleep all night. Meanwhile, Arga couldn't even sleep; in Bandung, it actually made him unable to sleep, even though he could actually sleep, but several things made him enjoy the night breeze until morning; he actually exercised and immediately cleaned himself up; he enjoyed breakfast made by mbok Siti; and I want to find Maudy as soon as possible.
"Den Arga, where are you going?" asks Mbok Siti.
"Get some fresh air, sis," he answered with a smile.
Ah, it's been a long time since he could smile sincerely, even in front of his friends. Without feeling it, his lips pulled lightly. Arga immediately cleaned up his food and got up to start his search. After Arga left, Mbok Siti only smiled sadly and sincerely. He knows Arga's struggle to get to this point; it is not easy to find his enthusiasm for life again after what he went through. Mbok Siti also cleaned up all of Arga's leftover food, and after she looked at the wall clock, it turned out that it was almost eleven o'clock in the afternoon. The house telephone rang, forcing Mbok Siti to postpone her other work for a while.
Yes, hello," she answered.
"Mother Siti?" That voice again reminded Boko Siti of reality.
Yes, I am, madam. The answer is slow. Not out of doubt or fear, but because he wasn't sure if he was talking to the same person. It's been a long time; even though he looked after his grandmother Arga's house, this family has not had any contact with him for a long time. And this is not a coincidence; it's Mbok Siti who doesn't want to have any further contact other than looking after this house. That's why, when they were about to come here, Boko Siti had been informed in advance by the assistant in Jakarta that she would not be at home for a while. He wasn't ready to see the big lady, even Arga's mother. Let's say she's a maid who doesn't know herself, but to be honest, Mbok Siti really isn't ready. It's not a matter of revenge or hatred, but she really doesn't want to show herself because it will remind her of Maudy's departure. All because of his fault.
"Mother, is Arga there?" asked the voice. Again, Mbok Siti answered hesitantly.
No, madam, he just left," he said again. There was a long sigh, as if the mistress was carrying a very heavy burden.
"Oh, yes, mbok. If he trades, please tell him not to go anywhere, because I will talk to him. Rita said again, as if she couldn't wait to talk to Arga; it's just that Arga was away.
"Why don't you call Mr. Arga's cellphone? asked Mbok Siti, surprised.
"Not active, mbok. He said, sadly, that it was clear that Arga's mother was sad.
"Just let it be Nya; later she will surely answer, she said, with Arga also looking for wind. Just don't bring your cell phone. Obviously, Mbok Siti is more detailed.
"Do you know where he is? Mbok Siti shook her head, then realised it, and she immediately answered.
No, ma'am, because he didn't say anything either; after breakfast he immediately left. He said he was just getting some fresh air; if he had something to do, he said, Let it be over quickly. Mbok Siti said it honestly, because that was what Arga had said to her.
"Oh, yes, mbok. When he comes, let me know, okay?" asked Rita.
"That's fine," said Mbok Siti.
After disconnecting the call, Mbok Siti thought about what Arga's reason was for going to Bandung. It seems that if it were just a holiday, Arga could go abroad just to relieve fatigue, but if you think about Maudy, it seems Arga doesn't have that courage either. At least when he visits Maudy's grave, it's the last thing he could do because Arga wouldn't have the face to meet Maudy's family. Even though, well, even though he put himself to accept all the burden that was tight in his chest with a pile of regret that felt as heavy as a stone,
Not wanting to interfere, which would make her sad, Mbok Siti continued her work. Meanwhile, Arga is out there looking for a way to find Maudy, who is in Bandung, racking his brain. He wasn't sure Maudy would return to her old place, but if she did, then she would easily find her; unfortunately, Arga didn't have that courage. For now, at least she did the right thing.
