Chapter 40

That night, as soon as darkness crept on the skies. The sound of blood-curling screams accompanied by gunshots could be heard on one of the rooms. Stanley was quite amused by this, it seems like Byul wasn’t hearing anything unlike him who could hear a sound even from the tiniest noise. The sound was really disturbing and from his own perspective, it could be said that their suspicion were correct.
This chaos went on as the night goes on and until the time they were finally led towards a certain room did Stanley avert his attention towards the people sitting leisurely on a chair.
Along them were few computers and stack of files, the people don’t seems nice and some of them even have rifle hanging above their shoulders. Byul felt uneasy around the dense atmosphere. He glanced momentarily at the computer on the table and just fixated his gaze on Stanley’s face.
On the other hand, Stanley was very relaxed. He put on a calm façade and ask in a very careful tone. “How’s the situation inside?”
Sensing his confidence, the soldiers raised an eyebrow and asked in a very suspicious manner. This man, not only did he find out their camp location, he also know the secret code that only few soldiers know. Even if the situation is dire and they need a lot of helping hand. Someone who knows too much is a possible threat. “You must be?”
Stanley just put on a smile and said: “Chen Yuzhi, I was sent here by D Headquarters.”
“D Headquarters?”
The soldiers just give each other a meaningful look. One of them stood up from his seat and lend out his hand to him. He then said in a friendly manner: “Lieutenant Fu Yuan, I’ve heard D Headquarters would send us some assistance. Yu Heng, show him the situation inside.”
Stanley gave Byul a meaningful glance and nodded. “He’s my assistant, Ling Qi”
When he introduced him with a fake name. Byul realized that Stanley must’ve been playing it safe and that he found some valuable Intel before. Byul didn’t hesitate for a bit and eventually put on an act. Byul simply bowed at the soldiers and no longer said a word.
In the meantime, Byul and Stanley was led into the inner base. On the long run, they passed through many security mechanisms. Byul raised his brows in amusement. There are too many layers to peel and almost all of the facilities are heavily guarded by soldiers. Since he also served in the military for three years, he was quite familiar with the rules and regulations inside the camp however, he don’t have a single clue about the secrecy because he was situated outside and was very unfamiliar with the foreign military techniques. Having the matter slip in his mind, he simply don’t know what to say.
Half an hour later, they finally reached the basement. The soldier just gave them a key card to access the room and a pistol equipped with a silencer then in a careful tone he said: “The patients are quite the handful this time. Use that thing just in case.”
Stanley simply took the two things without saying a word and handed the key card to Byul. As his assistant, Byul opened the room without much thought and waited for Stanley to go in before him. After the two of them finally entered the room did the soldier left.
Byul closed the door and looked around the room. The corners were bashed and clawed mercilessly by the patients and there were few corpses lying around the floor with their own pool of blood. Judging by the holes in their clothes, they are totally shot to death.
Stanley just speechlessly stared at him for a moment. He then walked ahead and went to put on some lab coat. Since they are surely monitored by them, Stanley didn’t stop his façade and hurriedly ordered Byul to take on his orders.
The idiot didn’t dilly-dally anymore and moved fast to clean up the mess on the floor. He also inspected the corpse and pretend to take notes about their conditions. As he was genuinely feeling the urge to use his ability, Byul swallowed his breath. Gosh, he really want to put his leash on them and have them run his errand instead!
Stanley went along the drawers and found some files inside them. He sat for a bit and skimmed through the papers and found almost only information about the patients.
One piece of valuable source he found was that the ones that has been dragged here to become a lab rat were those with severe mental conditions. In fact all the patients in this room were claimed dead because of drug overdose.
Stanley avert his gaze at the other room next to the current one they’re in. Just from a door away, he could clearly hear the screams of pain and agony. The scratching sound also overlaps with the harsh cry of patients.
Throughout his reading period, Byul skillfully cleaned up the room and called out for assistance to get rid of the corpse. Even if he was slightly regretful in his heart, Byul was satisfied for he got one of the corpse act as their main surveillance.
Since the security was tight, all the passcodes and lock combination was confidential and he don’t had the chance to decipher it but since a corpse is convenient for them to have the soldiers lower their guards. Byul didn’t hesitate to use one.
Stanley had just finished analyzing the files and somehow he was slightly disappointed since he only found a few valuable information from them. Byul went over to his side with his arms crossed and carefully asked: “Did you find anything good? The next room seems to have more resource, we should go there instead.”
Oh. Right, this idiot had that kind of ability. Stanley carefully thought in his mind. He knew Byul had a thing for sewing corpse but he has yet to see what kind of ability he had. He never really had the chance to see it before since they’re too focused on finding evidence. Maybe this would be a good time for him to recognize his skill…
Hearing his suggestion, Stanley sighed in his heart. He probably realized that the idiot’s ability is completely trash. With an indifferent eyes he told him: “If you want to dissect the corpse, I’ll leave that matter to you since there’s many of them there.”
Byul was stunned for a moment. He don’t have an idea of what he was even talking about. Dissect? What’s there to dissect? Frogs? At that moment, Byul recalled the recent tribute and was completely speechless.
“Haaah… Don’t you f*cking belittle my ability.”
“I don’t. I just find it rather unique.” Stanley calmly retort him with a disgusting smile.
“Oh? Well I do love it.”
“Hah. Spare me the time to talk about your weird hobby.” The b*stard just ran his palms on his face. Thinking about the way this idiot pierced the flesh with needles make his spine shudder in disgust.
“What..?”
Byul was quite confused about his words. He raised a brow at him with his eyes demanding an explanation. Just what kind of weird stuff is going on inside his mind. He really want to cut open his brain and look inside. With a mocking smile, Stanley bluntly squeezed out the words in his mouth.
“I mean… You sew corpses.”
“Haaaah?!”
