I was able to get myself out of Beatriz hide out. If I had stayed in there any longer I think I might just die. I ran up to the last floor of the mansion, there was a separate room and the only room on that floor, the room has been restricted for a while but today it was open--- maybe the maids are about to clean it, they do that twice a month.
When I stepped into the room I was a bit surprised at the size of it but I was too hurt to even bother about it. Since the room was in a secluded spot, it was the only place I can use to let go of all my anger and anguish. I stood at the balcony and screamed at the very top of my voice, it was loud enough together the attention of the maid trying to scoop out dirt from the swimming pool.
I screamed again and again. It was my way of crying since my eyes had refused to produce out tears.
"Wow! You've got a lot of pain in your system. Take it from me, screaming it out won't help, letting go of the pain, will.' I turned to see a rather handsome guy seating leg crossed on the bed.
"Who are you?" I asked quite authoritatively like he was invading in my space.
"Your fairy godfather" he said, letting out a chuckle.
Was that supposed to make me laugh?
Seeing that I didn't, the unknown stranger got up from the bed and walked towards me. Without my permission, he lifted both my arm in an horizontal position and started massaging it from the back.
"Sometimes one needs to be calm so they can think properly" he said as he kept on massaging my arm and I allowed him, I did find what he was doing soothing. When he was done he let go of my arm and turned me to face him. With a stretched out hand, he introduced himself "I am Link by the way"
I didn't shake it as I stared at him instead. "Link?" I repeated, was that even a name?
"You don't seem please by my name, how about you tell me yours, Priscilla..." He said and my eyes widened at him.
How does he know my name? Who was he? Why was he? And what is that look on his face?
"You shall know it all in due time" he said smiling.
Did I ask those questions out loud?
"No you didn't, I am just in your head"
"Then Get out!!!" I shouted at him, breathing heavily.
"Okay fine.... I did not mean to get into your head, you see I read people mind a lot, it's kind of my job"
Why am I even entertaining him?
"Because you are mystified?" He said, smirking.
"Has any one ever told you that your "job" was annoying?" Trying in my way to get that smudged look from his face.
"Nah... You are my first customer to hate it and I have to admit that I am impressed, most people tend to wonder if I do magic or something. I am just a humble yoga instructor who takes meditating seriously, you might one to do it some time, here's my card" he gave me a short card that held all his business details.
"Tired, stressed out from family problems, love life in the mud.... How about you give "sees all yoga" a try" I read aloud, even laughed at the last part since I found it amusing, he joined me in laughing not quite sure I was laughing at. "Is this the name of your business "sees all yoga?"" I asked and there was a smile on his face.
The smile brought out more of his handsome features, and I am a bit disamoured by his aura. Link was a funny guy, I have to give him that.
"I like to see my self as a see it all kinda guy... So here is a coupon, my business isn't doing so well but we would love to have you"
I laughed, "Since your business isn't doing well I don't think a coupon will be the best business strategy"
"You are only saying that because you plan on dodging me" the smile was still plastered on his face.
"I will remember not to think or say anything discrimating about you in my head" I said and he laughed, he has been laughing ever since I met him at its just been five minutes, in the next couple of days he might not be laughing like he is now. "Who exactly are you?" I asked the most serious question since the beginning of our conversation.
"For you, the name's Link. Damon's my brother but not Beatriz son by the way, she's my aunt" he said while lifting up his box and dropping it on the bed, taking out his towel. "You should leave now" he said unbuttoning his shirt.
"Oh.... Why?"
Smirking, Link went on to unbutton and took off his shirt, it was only then that I got the message. I reached for the door to see Damon, he was just about to knock. The shock on his face to see Link shirtless and I in the same room with him. He didn't leave though. He dropped his hand from the air it has been hung on.
"Just wanted tell you to come join us for breakfast, when you are done..." Though Damon meant those words for Link, he had his eyes on me all through the time he spoke. What's worse was that I still had my night gown on. I ran out of there before I become more flustered.
Breathing through my mouth, I rested on the door. I went to the bathroom afterwards to get a shower and came down for breakfast. Link too was about to take his seat, I took the one by his side. Beatriz didn't hide the fact that her eyes will be on me all throughout today, too bad I plan on reporting both her and Alicia to the police today. That will still be the least of my revenge.
When we were all seated, Beatriz said to Link, "It's great having you back dear" and Link nodded in approval. "Shall we all join our hands, so we can bless the food" Beatriz took the hand of Elizabeth like it was natural for her to do so, you can't imagine the look of shock in my eyes, I didn't know she prayed or they believed in God.
Fucked up family. The way they took each other's hands made it all seem like they do it all the time.
"Priscilla dear, please pray for the food and hands that prepared them" Beatriz said before she closed her eyes, I knew she was doing it to spite me.
I can't even remember the last time I prayed. And even if I did remember I don't want to pray for this family that swarm in a pool of pretence.
I didn't know how much time I had taken to pray when Damon chose to pray in my stead, "In Jesus name...... bless and sanctify, Amen"
They all answered "Amen" and began digging into their food.
I watched as everybody ate their food, you need to see how they were both smiling at each other, I was so focus on them that I didn't know Link had exchanged my plate of steak for his, he helped in cutting them in smaller pieces so it will be easy to eat.
"Thank you, but I don't have steak for breakfast" I exchanged it back.
He used his hand to block the others from hearing what he said next, leaning closer he whispered, "Neither do I... Wondering what it is doing on the table"
I couldn't help laughing as he retreated back to his seat. I don't know why I was letting Link lead me on like this. I guess I should let him be for now, in a few days I might find out what his true role in this house was.
"Damon I was thinking about calling the Reverend today, so we can renew our vows as promised" Elizabeth brought up the topic as she sent a glance Xander's way.
"Not now Elizabeth" Damon shunned. I rolled my eyes at his recent cold behavior to everyone, I can't pick sides though but Elizabeth was wrong to have brought it up.
That's their problem, "Link please pass me the salt"
"Link? Who is that?" Xander raised a questioning brow at me and I sent it Link's way. It's just today and he is already lying. Gosh! Can anybody in this house be a little sincere.
"That's my name for her, Priscilla... My actual name is Brett" Link flirted and I became irritated at him. This isn't happening again. "Apologies, should've told you earlier it just skipped my mind"
"It's fine" I said with a wave of hand going back to my food. "I need a drive to the doctor's today" I announced at the table.
They all looked at me, probably wondering what the car Damon bought for me was exactly for.
"I'll take you, I'm going to the company today, need to finish up everything that has been pending at the office so I will drop you off" Damon said looking at me.
I appreciated him and left the dining to go prepare for my visit to the police. If they all knew I was going to the doctor's they won't suspect that I called the police on one of them.
