The guests soon start arriving, though I was waiting at Alicia's as per the maid of honor I could still hear them chattering and rich people laughter---- it sounded so sophisticated like their bank balance. Alicia squealed a lot as she fit into her wedding gown, she acted like her dream was finally coming true, all her hard work was about to pay off. She wore the necklace Damon had given her in place of the original daughter-in-law pass down necklace. Her eyes beamed with joy as she admire herself in the mirror, "I am beautiful, aren't I?" She asked checking out her backside if her butt was showing off on the gown. I was about to reply when she placed her index finger on my lips. "Shhh... I want Damon to be the first to tell me how beautiful I am" she says, taking away her index finger Alicia sighed at the time on the clock, "When are they going to call me in? I really can't wait to marry him" "Very soon I suppose" I said dowdily, diminishing every fake happiness that I wanted to show. Alicia noticed and was about to ask if everything was okay with me but Jeanette pushed open the door and walked in. "Wow...." Jeanette admired her friend. "Shhh... Please don't say it" Alicia begged. "Okay fine I won't say that you a beautiful, geez" Jeanette said relaxing on her bed not noticing how Alicia was now glaring at her and was even ready to pounce on her for saying she looked beautiful, words she wished Damon should say to her and no one else but him. She was able to hold herself back but not without keeping her grudge within in case if Jeanette messed up again. "That reminds me, your dad is around" "What! My Dad? I need to go see him" she rushed to the door about to pull the handle. "No no no..." I tried to stop her from showing herself off to the guests yet, "I'll go call him for you". "Like you know what he looks like" Jeanette hissed under her breath. I rolled my eyes at her, she must still be pained that I was in Damon's room. "Priscilla... There is no need for you to bother, if he is around then I am sure he is going to come see me" she retreated back to her seat, "I really can't wait for the priest to confirm us married, then I can finally get rid of this anxiousness that I am starting to feel" Tantanta ra... Tantanta ra... Tantanta... Is this how the wedding bell song goes cause they had already started ringing it. Jeanette quickly ran out to take a peep at them before she came back in with good news that made Alicia jump up with happiness.
"Oh my God, I can't believe it is really happening, finally" Alicia hugged her best friend and I at the same time. "I guess we should go now Priscilla" The door to her room pushed open and a man in his sixties walked in, "Alicia..." He called and Alicia ran to hug him despite the heavy dress she wore. "I thought you weren't going to come, I am so glad you came" she squeezed him so tightly that he had to beg for release. Jeanette and I both left the room to give them the privacy they deserve, their father and daughter moment shouldn't be ruined because of us. The procession started and Damon walked in with Xander closely behind him, I could tell he wasn't happy or maybe I am hoping he isn't. He stood at the left hand side of the priest and Xander took his seat beside Beatriz who hasn't stopped smiling since they started. It was already time for the bride to come in but Alicia was still in the room with her dad, they had been talking for quite a long time now and even now it doesn't seem like they were done. I looked around for any sign of Elizabeth, for me right now she was the only one that could disrupt this entire ceremony, her presence alone will bring extreme shock to people who already knew she was dead. Given by the look of things I personally doubt she might even bother coming, both Elizabeth and Damon seem to have come to a certain agreement pertaining to their marriage despite the rift between them, I still believe they are cordial with each other. Besides the way they both hugged each other the day Elizabeth returned was still vivid in my memory. "I better go an call Alicia now" Jeanette said to me after the bride was called for. Alicia came out when she was about opening her door, both father and daughter held each other hands as we all waited at the stairs. Since it was already time for us to move I went ahead to keep my phone in a safe place only for it to start ringing, the caller was mom's nanny and this is the very first she had called me unless it was an emergency, which triggered fear in me and I wasn't wrong to be scared considering the message she delivered. "Hello...." Without responding to my greeting, mom's nanny went on to deliver the disheartening news, she was already in tears as she said,"Miss Priscilla your mother just passed away...." I didn't even wait for her to say more as my phone fell from my hand and rolled all the way to the end of the stairs, I was completely dumbfounded but wasn't clueless on what to do. As an optimist I believed if I go back home a miracle might happen or maybe all of this wasn't even true and the nanny was only pulling my legs. I kicked off my stilettoes, lifted my gown and ran bare foot, without minding the dignitaries that were seated there I sped past them while hearing Alicia calling out for me, even Beatriz had joined in possibly because they might've been confused as to why I left so quickly but there just wasn't the time to explain. For the first time ever, I ran without stopping, my feet were already hurting badly but that didn't stop me as I kept on running. I didn't even know exactly where I was heading to but I just ran. The fear of having to loose my mother clutch me badly that I really hoped it wasn't true, there was so much I was yet to do for her now that I have the money. I can't believe how stupid I was to be enjoying myself at Damon's mansion when my mom was busy dying on her death bed. The moment I got to the house my mom's body had already been taken to the mortuary. The people who never showed their faces to me when I desperately sought out for their help in purchasing a proper medication for mom were all present to offer their condolences. Words like "sorry" was said, "take heart, things can only get better from here" how can loosing someone dear to you make things better? And the worst of all was when they all shared their own story of them loosing someone making the whole entire thing about themselves, or they simply say "I know how you feel" that one actually had me wanting to yell at their faces. "How the hell do you know how I felt?!" This was all eye service to me and I didn't need it at this very moment in my life so I asked politely that they leave so I could have my peace and reflect on things that were needed to be reflected on. I could only have regrets to hold, if only... Nothing I did now could bring her back, she was actually gone.
