“Do you want me to talk to them Darling to ease your concern? You know that I don’t want you to be like that. I know that it has a big impact on you when you are being bothered on something. I don’t want that it will stressed you again and it leads to triggering your anxiety.” Mateo glare at her while saying it. He know his wife well than others. This problem of others that concerns her will be her problem as well and will do everything just to help them. And it is not that good to her health, yes it will help others but her health was in risk.
“I don’t know Darling. I don’t want them to feel that we are picking our ears in their problem. I just hope that they can open this up to us one of this days because I will not be relieve when they go back in Manila and we don’t know what it is.” Mary deny what Mateo suggest and let out a heavy sigh.
“I assure you Mr. and Mrs. Ramirez that this mall will be finished before the end of the day that you gave us. I think one and a half is enough to finish it all and ready to be open. We are now doing the finishing touch. You can tell us if you are not satisfied on something and we will do what we can to solve it and make it in your likings.” Eng. Santos, the incharge of this project assure them that everything is in the plan. He is one of the famous engineer in town and he accomplished a lot of projects well and now he is running for the mayor position in this city.
“You don’t disappoint us Eng. Santos, we are looking forward to what you are saying. We look around and all seems right in place and we are pleased of how to manage it. Also tell us if the budget is shorting so we can talk about that. You will have a bonus from my son-in-law if you accomplish it well.” Mateo compliment him in doing well. Surely, he will won the election this time because of them also. They support him and lets say that he have the big percentage on winning compare to his competitors.
“Its my pleasure to work for your family and thank you for supporting me in this election. I won’t let you down and you have my side if I win. I will not turn my back to those who help, I promise.” Eng. Santos express his gratitude to them.
Mary and Mateo didn’t spend match time in the construction site and visit some of their businesses before going home. They pass by to a drive thru of Jolibee to buy the cravings of their preggy daughter which is fried chicken and fries. They buy a lot for others to have too not just Lyn cause they know that their daughter wouldn’t share if they just buy a bucket of friend chicken and a fries for one person. She eats a lot than before and that’s because she is pregnant.
After getting their order, they go home cause Lyn is calling them for her chicken and fries. Surely, she is pouting right now while waiting for her cravings. This kind of foods are not healthy for a pregnant women but no one dares to say no to Lyn because its hard to coax her when she got angry. They didn’t care to do that even Axiel, her own husband because she is very moody in her second trimester. Just a month and they will know the gender of their grandchild.
“Mommy where is my fried chicken and fries?” Lyn immediately run to them when they step in the door of the mansion. She ask it after greeting them and kissing their cheeks like what she always do.
“Don’t run wife, you will slip.” Axiel warn her when she run but she don’t care that much and go to her parents as fast as she could. Thankly, Mateo was able to catch her when she almost fall over because she loss balance.
“Your naughty Lyn. Think of the child inside you. Don’t be so careless just because of the foods. We will give it to you okay.” Mary can’t take her concern and said those words to her. Mary’s tones is mad. Lyn’s childish side was kicking again that’s why.
Lyn’s eyes teared immediately upon hearing her mother scolding her because of what she did. “Sorry mommy, I’m stupid and so careless. I-I….. I-I….” she start sobbing heavy out of her heart that alarm them.
She can’t sob so much because the airway of her breath will be block.
“Shhhhh, sorry for telling those words dear. Mommy don’t mean it. Please stop crying, okay. Please baby” Mary held her in her arms while coaxing her. She caress her back to make her feel comfortable.
“Mommy is sorry dear. Please stop crying for mommy.” Mary added and kiss her forehead. Axiel was behind Lyn to catch her in case she loss consciousness again.
“Stop crying Wifey. I will buy whatever you want if you stop crying, okay.” Axiel tried to coax her too. Lyn slowly stop crying and let go of her mom and hug Axiel.
“You’re not mad at me Hubby? I almost fell in the floor. It may hurt our baby.” she ask while clinging to him like a tarsier.
Axiel smile at her and say, “No baby, just don’t do it again okay. What if you fall, not only the baby will got hurt but you also. You know that I don’t what you to got hurt nor get scratch.” Axiel say it in a nice tone like just reminding her not scolding her. Showing her that everything is alright.
“Are you sure Hubby?” Lyn ask for assurance while staring at him. Like seeing if he is telling the truth or not.
“Yes Wifey” he gave her the assurance she wanted. Even if he is mad at her, he can’t show it to her because of her condition. Just seeing her pity look hurt him, what’s more if he show her that he is mad. It may be worsen right.
Because of Axiel’s words, Lyn stop crying and returning to its normal breathing that relieves them. Lyn is like a fragile expensive vase that even your life wouldn’t buy it if its broken. All of them sit in the living room while the tension is not fading away. Lyn is sitting in the lap of Axiel still clinging at him like a child who don’t want to face the person who hurt her.
“I’m really sorry dear, mommy don’t mean what she said. Can you forgive mommy?” Mary ask for forgiveness for what she said earlier. Sometimes, parents needs to ask for forgiveness to their child or children if they do something wrong to be fair, not just the child who should do it.
“I forgive you mommy. I am sorry too of what I did. I promise I wouldn’t do it again.” Lyn face her mom said it with sincerity.
“Okay that’s okay now, lets have our dinner and sleep early.” Mateo finally speak and said it before going in the dining room first and they follow him.
The dinner went well and they go back to their own rooms after that. Axiel help Lyn to her night routine and wait for her to sleep before doing her work. Their work resumes even they are in the vacation but not that much.
Mary is having a hard time in getting her sleep. She noticed that Ezekiel and Felisa are not in their self during the dinner that worries her much. It seems that their problems is getting hard and they are having a hard time solving it. She carefully leave the bed to avoid waking her husband and decided to go downstairs and have some wine to help her sleep.
Upon entering the kitchen, she notice that there’s someone in the pool area. How can a person outside sneak in inside the parameter of the mansion now that it has a twenty-four seven high end security. Because of curiosity, she go out without letting them know. When she is near, she recognized them, its Ezekiel and his wife sitting in the benches near the pool facing the plantation. She got nearer without letting them know and she accidentally over drops what they are talking.
“What if they are not saying the truth. You know that their daughter’s case was link to you before. What is they are doing it as a revenge to us and they just say where they left our grandchild and the couple who live in that place. Yes, we can let someone look for it but I doubt that they are saying the truth.” Felisa defend her opinion.
“But Love, this is one of what we are waiting for. The place what they say and where we are now are the same. There’s nothing to lose if we try to find some information about it, right? I have this feeling that they are saying the truth.” Ezekiel also say his side but Felisa is not convince to what he said.
“Okay, do what you want to do but I will not buy what they say. I want to talk to them face to face not just like that. If you really want me to believe them, lets go and ask them personally. We can go back to Manila for that first. I will let them know tomorrow. Lets go to our room and sleep. Its already late.” Felisa say her final words and stand and walk through the door without waiting for Ezekiel. It seems that they are not okay.
Ezekiel let out a heavy sigh and follow his wife. Mary hide when the two walks into her direction for them not to see her. She got out of her hiding spot when they are already loss in her sight. Now, she is sure that there is something happening between the two. It is not clear to her yet but it ease her feelings. It’s a half way that their problem will be solved. Not now but she hope that it will be resolved after they go back in Manila.
Mary forgot about the wine and start walking towards their room. When she got in, her husband it awake and waiting for her.
“Where do you go Love. Its middle of the night? Do you have a nightmare?” Mateo ask her with a worried voice.
Mary go near their bed and hop in before saying, “I’m okay. Nothing is wrong about me. I just wake up and my throat is dry so I go downstairs to drink some water. The maid forgot to refill our water dispenser here.” she lie and make an excuse. It seems that Mateo believe her and nod.
“Lets go back to sleep. Sorry for making you worried. I just don’t want to interrupt your sleep that’s why.” Mary hug him and said those words. Mateo kiss her forehead and sleep with her.
