“Mom, why I didn’t have siblings. My friends and classmates has their own siblings. Why I didn’t have one.” Leonor ask his parents when they are having their dinner outside as a treat because Leonor is the first honor in their class. Leonor is already six years old and now in grade one.
“Son do you want your mom will leave us?” Axiel asked his son. He has a trauma when Lyn has her C-section to delivery Leonor. Its like he is the one who is in the operating table. He feels the pain when the doctor open up Lyn. In that moment he declared that their son would be enough and he will not add more. He didn’t want to see Lyn undergo in that operation again. Also because of the case of Lyn.
“No dad, I don’t want it. But-”
“Son, your mom wouldn’t make it when she will have a baby again. She nearly dies when she have you.” Axiel cut his son’s words because he know that it will make an excuse again to have his wished granted.
“Baby, mom is not allowed to be pregnant again because of the heart condition. I already have a heart transplant before and I may die when I have a baby again. Sorry baby is mom will not fulfill your wish. I’m sorry baby.” Lyn’s tears fall on her eyes while saying sorry to her son. If she didn’t have this heart problem, she will fulfill her son’s wish but she can’t do that now. Doc Vin and his team advise her not to be pregnant again because it may kill her. Her heart may not be able to sustain the life inside her. So even if she want to but her body wouldn’t allow.
“Sorry mom, stop crying. Leonor understand you and will not ask it again. Please mom stop crying already. It is bad for your heart mommy.” Leonor apologize to her mom and hug her. Maybe he feels selfish without thinking of what her mom will react or is she will be hurt if he ask about it. He felt guilty because of it.
“Wife enough okay. Our son didn’t mean it. He is just jealous of others because he didn’t have a siblings.” Axiel join his son to coax her wife.
Lyn stop crying and pat her sons head, “Even when we only have you son, we are blessed because we have a son like you. Sorry if you feel alone and also because we can’t grant your wish.”
“Son finish your food and we will go home. Your mom needs to rest.” Axiel stated and allow Lyn to place her head on his shoulder. Surely, she will sleep. Its her habit after crying.
“Dad how can I make up with mom? I don’t want her to be sad.” Leonor ask his dad about it. They are now in the office of Axiel in the mansion and Lyn is in their room organizing their things.
“I bought a trip to Thailand flight for tomorrow and you will give it to your mom. I know she wants to visit that country so I booked a flight there for the three of us. Now give it to mom. She is in our room.” Axiel gave the three plane ticket to his son and he accepted it and run leaving him in the office alone. He smiles by his son’s way of asking for forgiveness. It maybe a simple way but a memorable one.
“Mom I have a surprise for you.” Leonor shouted when he open the door of the master’s bedroom. There, Lyn just finished what she is doing and want to sit down for a while when her son came in.
“What is it son?” she asked and pinched his nose.
“Here mommy” he gave her the three plane tickets.
           Lyn stare at it but when she see the destination, she shouted because of joy and hug her son.
“Thank you son. I really love you” she giggled and kiss his face.
           Axiel smiles when watching the scene in front of him. He is standing in the door watching them. He can say that he is now contented in the life and family he have now.
              Maybe floods, thunderstorm, hurricane will try to ruin there relation but it will not succeed because they have a strong barrier of love. Yes, it is only four letters but can win against everything. Lyn and Axiel’s love story will prove that no matter how the destiny change its path when you’re the destined one, you will be together in the end.
