Mateo woke up before his wife. Mary hasn’t woken up yet because she is drunk and late to sleep last night. He do his morning routine and give her a kiss in the forehead before heading downstairs to have his coffee. He didn’t bother to wake up his wife because he want to let her sleep more and stop thinking about that matter.
                        When he reach the living room, they are complete there and just them who woke up late. They are having their morning coffee as well except Lyn that having her hot milk.
“Good morning papa, where is mom?” Lyn greet him and ask.
“Good morning too my dear and also all of you here. Your mom is still sleeping dear. She drink two bottles of wine last night and got drunk. I didn’t wake her up so she can sleep more. I know she is tired.” Mateo greet them and answered. It makes Lyn worried to her mom. She know that she can’t be drunk if there is a big problem. Is the granddaughter thing bothers her a lot that she drunk two bottles of wine.
“Is it because we insist that she is our granddaughter?” Felisa ask, worriedness is seen in her. She felt guilty because of it.
“Yeah, I can tell that it is the reason why Mary drink a lot last night but don’t worry she is okay. Let’s just see how it goes later if she woke up. I know that she think about what others can tell if they know about it. I know her well and I hope she can accept it.” Mateo answered that make them feel worried to her. It didn’t ease their worries and it is worsen.
“Can I go and see mom?” Lyn ask and ready to go but her dad didn’t let her.
“Dear let your mom rest for now. You can talk to her later.” Mateo stated that make her sit down. She pout and make a miserable look to Axiel.
“Wife listen to your dad now. We can’t pressure your mom now that she is confused about things. Let her think for the good and accept it on her own. She didn’t want you to see her miserable state.” Axiel explain to make her understand what her father wants to tell her. Sometimes Lyn can’t understand what others want to tell her when she just woke up. Its like she can’t process things on her mind.
“Okay I understand now. I feel sorry for mom.” Lyn finally surrendered.
“Manang can you make our coffee so that I will go back in our room before she woke up and got downstairs. I want her to ease her hang over first before going downstairs.” Mateo ordered Manang Abby and she do it in that moment and go in the kitchen.
                   When Manang Abby finish making their coffee, he tell them that he will go upstairs. When he reach and open their room, Mary is already awake and sitting in their bed while checking her phone.
“You’re already awake Darling. Lets have our morning coffee and you can have your morning routine.” He said while placing the coffee in the side table beside his wife.
“Good morning Darling, here is your coffee.” He greet her and gave a cup of coffee for her which she accept and greet him back.
“My head hurts Darling. Can you gave me my meds?” she tell him that he go and get her meds with a water and gave it to her. She accept it and drink her meds before placing the bottle of water in her bedside.
“Thank you for the coffee Darling.” She thank him before sipping in her coffee, savoring the flavors of it. It is her favorite coffee after all.
“Your daughter is worried on you Darling, also them. Are you really okay? You can tell me or us about your thought too. We can talk about it too.” Mateo tell her while sipping on his coffee too.
“I’m okay Darling. I’m just think a lot about this matter and I over think about it that’s why.” She tell him that didn’t make him believe.
“I will go and take a bath now Darling, can you wait me here and we will go downstairs together?” Mary ask him that he nodded and let her do her morning routine. He feels that she don’t want to talk about it and he respect it. He do their bed and arrange things in order how his wife want to make her comfortable and not have a bad mood when she see the room look like a mess.
“Mom are you okay? Your dearest daughter is worried on you.” Lyn approach her mother when they reach the living room.
Mary sit on the couch and Lyn sit beside her, “Mom is okay, don’t worry about me. I drink more than average last night that’s why I’m having a hang over now. Also I miss my favorite wine so I drink but I didn’t know why I drink too much.”
                    Mary hold her hands to tell her everything is okay and she don’t need to worry about it. Her mother is strong and can get over in any problems in life. She is her superwoman after all.
“Ma’ams, Sirs, the medical team is here to get the specimen for the DNA test.” Manang Abby enter the living and said it.
“Let them come in and we can start the procedure.” Axiel stated so Manang Abby do what he said. The medical team come in and sit down when Axiel gestured them to do so.
“Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Monteverde, Mr. and Mrs, Lorenzo, Mr. and Mrs. Ramirez, and the others here. I’m doctor Lorie and my team is here to the specimen needed for the DNA testing. It wouldn’t take long.” Doctor Lorie stated.
                      After half an hour, the specimen needed is already taken and the team leave to go back in the hospital to do the test after assuring them that the result will be out tomorrow. Doc Lorie herself will announce the result.
“Mary, dear I know its hard for you to believe what we said so I understand that you can accept if for now. I hope when the DNA result will be out tomorrow and it will ease your concerns.” Felisa assured her and pat her shoulder.
“We will take our leave for now. We will go back in the hotel. See you guys tomorrow.” Felisa added and stand up ready to make a proper goodbye but Mary stop them.
“Stay here” that’s what she said because she can’t make words on her tongue for now. Maybe speechless or bothered, something like that.
“We’ll not going to manipulate the result dear if that’s bothering you. We can accept if it will turns negative but we hope it will be positive. We just don’t want to bother you guys more. We make troubles in your family this week and we don’t want it to be added.” Felisa explained properly her words awhile ago.
“Its not that but I want to be closed to my grandparents. But if you guys insisted, you can go.” Finally words make up on her mind and able to say it. She can give it a chance. If the time wants it, she will do her best to accept the reality, that maybe they are her grandparents.
                    Her words shock them all even her husband. What’s the use of drinking two bottles of wine and have a hang over if she somehow accept them without the result of the DNA test. Mateo can’t really understand his wife’s mind and action now.
“Did you really call us your grandparents, dear?” Felisa face her and ask to confirm what she heard.
“You don’t want to?” Mary answer the question with another question. It is a question that can answer and ask in the same time.
“We want it dear” Felisa hug her while crying out of happiness that finally their granddaughter accepted them as her grandparents without any confirmation to confirm their identity.
“How about lolo, are you going to hug me? That hug must be forty years ago.” Mary stared at Ezekiel while saying it. Ezekiel is also in tears because of the revelation made by Mary so he can’t react properly like his mind is loading. When he realize what Mary meant to tell him, he join the hug and hug her too. What a happy family, right?
                        The hug was very long like longing to each other but Felisa and Ezekiel let go of her when she stated that she is safocating.
“Wow that is intense, are you going to kill me hahaha” Mary joked when they let go.
“No dear, its just we are very happy that you accept us.” Felisa stated with a wide smile.
“Mom I’m hungry already. Can we eat?” Lyn cut the drama and complain. It makes her the focus of the people there in the living room.
“Okay dear, I think the table is ready. Manang Abby?” Mary call the mayordoma and she come out from the kitchen saying,
“The table is ready Madam. You can eat now.” Manang Abby say it knowing what her madam would ask. They will have a late breakfast this morning because of the DNA specimen taking that happened earlier.
“Okay, guys let’s eat. My daughter will change character if she is hungry. Axiel will not allow her to be hungry, right?” Mateo said inviting them to the table. He let out a joke as well to make the environment good.
“I will not allow it papa. I know my wife, she will be an another person when she is hungry.” he laugh when saying it to tease Lyn as well.
                After the late breakfast, they stay in the living room for awhile to digest what they ate. It’s a long day to start.
”Madam, Arturo is here to discuss something about the harvest.” Manang Abby suddenly come and announce the arrival of Mang Arturo, the trusted person who is managing the workers in the farm. He works for them in a decade so they trust him well. The workers can say their complains to him and he will say it to them.
“Let him in. Please excuse me and Mary for a while and we will talk to Arturo. Maybe there is a concern in the farm so he is here.” Mateo excuse them in the group so they can talk to Arturo on what’s the matter why he is here.
“Its okay. You can go and we will go back to ours rooms to rest.” Felisa allow them.
               Mateo together with his wife and Arturo walk through the cottage in the back of the mansion where they always have there meetings. While the others go back in their rooms to rest like what Felisa said.
