Episode 20
★Tina's POV★
"Yes?" he replied. "Get rid of her. She's useless, and it's time to restore our kingdom," he commanded.
"No, stay away from me..." I screamed as he continued to walk away, his eyes transforming into a dark gaze.
He started moving toward me, and I began crawling backwards.
"Please, don't kill me. I'm begging you! Or just take me and let the little child go. He hasn't done anything to you guys," I pleaded, crying uncontrollably, but it fell on deaf ears.
"No! No! No! Don't come near me," I trembled in fear as he approached, his aim directed at my neck.
"Wait!" one of them suddenly intervened, reaching out his hand just as the other man was about to touch my neck. This caught everyone's attention.
"What? Why did you stop him, Barry?" Bethel shouted at the man who yelled stop.
"I'm sorry, but I wanted to suggest that maybe we shouldn't kill her yet. We might need her later," Barry explained, taking a deep breath before continuing.
"But if you still want to kill her, go ahead!" Barry said, and all eyes turned to Bethel. The choice was up to him.
I, too, looked at Bethel, my breath heavy with fear. At first, he scanned his surroundings. "Alright. You're right. We'll keep her," Bethel agreed, and I immediately breathed a sigh of relief, placing my trembling hand over my chest.
"But, Barry, you stay here with her while the rest of us go with me," Bethel instructed as the others joined him, heading toward the inner room even before Bethel did.
Bethel was the last person left standing, and he stared at both of us with a menacing expression on his face.
Finally, he focused his gaze on me, and I tried to seize the moment to plead with him to let my little brother go.
"Bethel, please, just take me and spare him! The child hasn't done anything wrong. You can't kill him," I pleaded as he continued to stare at me intently.
Meanwhile, Barry stood at the corner, observing the scene. "Please, I beg you, just let the boy go. You can take me instead," I pleaded, tears streaming down my face.
"So..." he began, taking a step closer to me, kneeling down, and looking directly into my eyes. "If we take you, what do you want us to do with you?" he asked, but I remained focused on him.
I didn't know what to say because I couldn't simply ask them to kill me.
"You don't understand what we are capable of, do you, Tina? You misunderstand us," he stated firmly.
"You think we can just take people and kill them at will? For what reason? No...! We are not murderers," he insisted, and I interrupted him immediately.
"Then who the hell are you? Who killed Zara, and why are you carrying that baby in your arms, threatening to kill him?" I exclaimed, confusion and anger flooding my voice.
What the hell was he trying to say? He killed my sister, Zara, and now he was threatening the life of my innocent little brother.
And he had the audacity to claim they weren't murderers? Then what the hell were they?
After I made my statement, he smiled and stood up from the ground. "Our mission may make it seem that way, but we are not."
"We only intend to sacrifice your brother in order to unlock immortality and for me to reclaim my position as the crown prince of Persia," he revealed.
"The Prince of Persia, and after that, we will never return to this world of mere humans," he declared, starting to walk away, but I interrupted him once more.
"That means you're doing this out of your selfish desires!" I exclaimed, to which he responded with a loud voice.
"No! You're the one who sees it that way!" he retorted, his voice filled with intensity.
"Because that's exactly what you're doing!" I shot back, feeling a newfound courage surging through me.
"Because if I don't, my people will perish! My people will die!" he replied, his voice growing deeper.
"And so you would let my own people perish for the sake of yours?!" I questioned, anger rising within me as he became increasingly infuriated.
"And how dare you speak back to me!" He shouted, grabbing me by the neck, and fear enveloped me once again, causing me to gasp for breath.
"Ugh!!! No....!!!" I groaned, desperately grabbing at his head. After a few seconds, he released me from his grip.
Gasping for air, I fell to the ground, coughing, as he turned towards Barry. "You take care of her. Watch over her. She must not escape because if she does..." Bethel said, accompanied by a smirk.
"I bet you wouldn't want to know what will happen to you because I will skin you alive," Bethel threatened, exchanging a menacing look with Barry.
Observing their interaction, it was clear that they were nearly deadly enemies.
After that warning, Bethel departed, leaving only Barry and me. We stared at each other for a moment, and then he stepped closer from where he had been sitting.
"How would you feel if they killed your brother and still allowed you to survive, only to come back for you and kill you too?" he asked. However, I chose to ignore that question, as it was not my primary concern at the moment.
My main concern was my little brother and the prophecy regarding my own death. I wanted to know if it was imminent or still in the future.
"Do you know about the prophecy Bethel mentioned?" I inquired, as he paused and looked into my eyes. "Are you referring to the prophecy of your death?" he asked, and I nodded.
"Well..." he started, and I listened attentively. "Yes," he confirmed, and I closed my eyes, tears streaming down my face.
Because it is a prophecy and I don't even know who made the prophecy, I believe it cannot be changed. Perhaps I should just accept it and quietly wait for my time of death.
"But it can be changed," he said, and my ears immediately perked up. These were words filled with hope for me.
"Changed? How can it be changed? I'm ready to do anything," I exclaimed, as he moved closer to my face and repeated the same question.
"How would you feel if they killed your brother and still allowed you to live, only to come back for you and kill you?" Barry asked, and I let out a heavy sigh.
That was a difficult question, and I didn't even know how to answer. "Well, dead people have no feelings," I responded, as he placed his hand on my shoulder.
I was taken aback, as I never expected him to make such a gesture. Why would he reach out his hand to me?
"Then we can change that," Barry said, and I looked at him with confusion, as I misunderstood what he was trying to say.
"Change what?" I asked, still not fully comprehending his words.
"I will save you," he said, and my eyes widened as I let out another deep breath. "You will?" I asked, filled with happiness, but my joy was short-lived as he continued speaking, and I realized it would come at a great cost.
"But only on one condition," he stated, and I stared at him intently. "What?" I asked.
"I will save you and your brother, but you must hand over your little brother to me afterwards, and then you must leave," he explained, and I didn't interrupt him any further.
Did he really just say what I think he said? How is that even considered help? So, I remained silent, contemplating his offer.
"If you don't agree with me, you will die, and your baby brother will still die! Both choices are terrible, but one is better than the other," he warned, and I began to ponder upon his words.
I believe he is correct, and I know what I need to do once he sets me and my brother free. I understand my course of action, and there's no need to reveal it.
"Oh, alright. I agree," I responded, and he nodded in acknowledgement.
"Then you must swear that you will never betray me," he stated, and I looked at him wide-eyed.
