Chapter 16

Meanwhile, at the mall...
Scarlett and Sabrina had been window shopping all day. Finally after hours, they stopped at Footwear Zone to try out some nice collection of shoes. Scarlett and Sabrina had been looking for some new shoes for quite some times.
"These heels are killers," says Scarlett as she keeps walking back and forth.
"I agree. These boots are also cool," says Sab as she is also walking back and forth with Scarlett, while trying on their shoes.
"I'm taking this one," says Scarlett.
"Yeah, then I guess I'll go with these babies," says Sabrina.
Finally...these ladies are taking forever. The store clerk thought.
Scarlett and Sabrina finished their purchase and walks out of the store, with shopping bags of their new shoes in hands.
"Finally, something good at the mall," says Sabrina.
"I'll say...I almost jump from the 3rd floor if I can't find some new shoes," says Scarlett as she continues to stare at her shopping bag.
"You kidding, girl," says Sabrina as she looks at her friend with an awkward look.
"I'm off the hook, Sab," says Scarlett with a big smile.
"I can't wait to wear these tomorrow," says Sabrina in excitement.
"Then let's show some losers our new babies," says Scarlett, before the two girls high five each other.
The next day....
Signature High School, 6:40 AM...
An ordinary morning starts for the students of Signature High. Like any other Monday, Mrs. Steward can't wait to find students to punish for (sometimes) unnecassary reasons. As the rumour goes on, it said to be that she has temper and (also) personal problems with the students. Who knows? Some of the students assume she just didn't want to be a teacher. And all of that hell of annoyance will start at 7 AM.
"It's time," says Sabrina as she wears a red glasses, a pink tank top with denim jackets, complete with denim leggings and her new black boots.
"Let's go, sister," says Scarlett as she puts on her blue glasses. As for Scarlett, she is wearing a neon green dress that falls below her knees, black cardigan, fishnet stockings, complete with her yellow heels.
Scarlett and Sabrina enters the school while walking like they're on the catwalk. They imagine themselves to be actual supermodel, walking on the runway with poise and style. All the other students starts staring at them. Some of the guys even give the girls a hot whistle.
"Woah..what the hell was that?" Gina asks Lindsay as the two girls walk pass them.
"They're probably just some influencer wannabes. Aww, how cute," says Lindsay with a chill tone, though Gina knew too well that her best friend is just trying to sound sweet and not bad mouth the two girls and their weird fashion sense.
"I think I saw Vincent just stared at Scarlett. Man, but he didn't look quite happy," says Gina in her gossipy tone.
"Maybe he's just worried about her. The poor girl looks like she's going to a fashion show. Maybe she forgot that Mrs. Steward has strict rules about fashion here," says Lindsay.
"Yup..never dress like an idiot," says Gina before she burst herself into laughter, join by Lindsay.
"By the way, how are you and Patrick?" Gina asks with curiousity.
"We're good. He told me we're totally cool for one another, and I think it's nice. He's a great person, very sweet," says Lindsay with a small smile, though there is only one guy in her mind, who is really getting her attention, even when he's no longer her's. That guy, is none other than her ex...Arthur Stanley. The thought of him now getting close to Liana really annoyed her.
At class...
"Ok!! Please tell me who told you two to dress like aliens?" Mrs. Steward asks in fury.
"This is fashion, Mrs. Steward! Haven't you ever read Vogue?" Scarlett asks in a sarcastic tone.
"You two broke the rules of dressing like total weirdos," says Mrs. Steward, almost screaming at her words.
"What the heck, Mrs. Steward! We're just trying to pose like the Jenner sisters," says Sabrina as she takes off her red shades.
"That's it, I'm sending you two to the principal's office," says Mrs. Steward in anger.
"What??? Why???" asks the two girls.
"Don't ask why!! Just go before I give you triple Fs," says Mrs. Steward, making the girls walk out of the class in annoyance.
Damn...already a lot of drama at this hour. Carter thought.
"Ok, let's start with science or I don't know its other name if they have one," says Mrs. Steward as she starts writing on the white board.
How did the principal even hired her? Victoria thought.
At the cafeteria...
Liana is sitting with Leo and Peggy, as the three of them enjoy lunch while waiting for Arthur.
"Did you wait too long?" Arthur asks as he surprise Liana from behind, right before giving her a kiss on the cheek, making Liana form a shy smile.
"Like only a half minute, bruh," says Leonard as he digs into his pasta.
"OMG you guys are total cuties," says Peggy as she smiles at her friends.
Meanwhile, Candice, Tiffany, Alyson, and Vincent are watching from the other table.
"Didn't know they moved on too fast," says Alyson before she takes a bite of her eggs and bacon.
"I didn't even know they started dating," says Vincent as he watch Liana and Arthur in confusion.
"Please, Vincent! You've been missing out on too much," says Tiffany before she takes a bite of her beef bowl.
Candice just stares at the happy couple with mixed up feelings. On one side she is heartbroken that her crush decided to start a relationship with another girl, after the two got into a one night stand, in which Candice was hoping that it would turn into something. Of course, at this state of her life where she can't even believe in her own family, she that what she was hoping for about a relationship with Arthur was too cliche.
"Where's your step-brother?" Vincent asks before he takes a sip of his soy milk.
"I told him to focus on his studies more, other than just bugging me during lunch," says Tiffany before she takes a sip of her apple juice. "Damn..."
"And what about George? Are you guys like official now?" Alyson asks.
"He's gonna talk with Alexis and Liam about the school talent show," says Tiffany.
"Hmm..are they gonna perform something together?" Candice asks.
"Well, George says Alexis has this band idea. Currently they're thinking how they want it to be," says Tiffany.
Meanwhile, at the other table, Lindsay, Patrick, Carter, and Victoria are also having lunch together. Carter's talking about working on another book.
"But really, Carter. Your book is really one of a kind," says Lindsay as she puts on her best smile.
"Well, I tried my best. I'm still improving," says Carter before he takes a sip of his water.
"By the way, have you guys decide what to do for the talent show?" Victoria asks as she continues to wipe her spoon with her special utensil wet tissues.
"I think I'm gonna be performing ballet. I've been taking classes since 5," says Lindsay. "What about you guys?"
"I'm gonna be playing my guitar. I'm quite a pro at it," says Patrick.
"Wow, that's nice," says Carter.
"I heard Leo is also gonna play the guitar," says Victoria.
"Well, we sure have a lot of musicians in this school," #ays Lindsay as she sips on her banana smoothie. "Alexis even plan to perform as a band, along with George and Liam!"
"Say, why don't we start a duo of our own?" Patrick asks Lindsay.
"Oh what?" Lindsay asks politely, almost like she didn't hear what he said.
"A duo. You can dance ballet, and I can play the guitar. It would make a fantastic combo," says Patrick.
"Hmm..bold idea. Though it's kind of unique and out of the box," says Carter.
"I'll say...it's creative," Victoria adds.
Lindsay stares at Patrick, this time she looks a little nervous. She never felt nervous around him though, this was the first time. Well, literally because she wanted to tell him that she had accepted another guy's offer to be in a duo, well, more likely she asked Leo to join her duo and asked him to sing and play guitar, as she dance. Explaining to Patrick could be a bit awkward for her, since she didn't want him to get the wrong idea of her not choosing him over another guy.
"That's a wonderful idea, Patrick. But I already have things set up with Leo though. He told me he's gonna sing some nice Pop songs and play guitar, and I could dance to ballet, which is a nice combination. We already talk about it this morning. So, my apologise," says Lindsay as tries to form a warm and chill smile.
"Ah, that's too bad. I was looking forward to it," says Patrick with a disappointed face.
"I'm so sorry about this, Patrick! I promise we can find some other things besides the talent show. I mean, it's ok if we don't perform together. Besides, everyone already knows we're together, right?" Lindsay asks with a small smile.
"Yeah, I guess," says Patrick casually. His face is still not smiling, and still look very disappointed.
Carter and Victoria stares at the couple with awkwardness. They eventually move their vision to their lunch, not bothering to look at their two friends.
"Aww...cutee!!"
Peggy's soft yet melodic voice caught the attention of Lindsay to glance at her table, looking at a flirty Arthur who is using his cheesy pick-up lines to a giggling Liana, while Leonard and Peggy just stare at them with big smiles, looking happy for the couple. Lindsay couldn't help but to feel annoyed (again) at the sight, but knowing that her and Patrick are now dubbed as the new couple, she couldn't show anyone that she was annoyed by the sight of Arthur and Liana. So, Lindsay just form another smile, before elegantly looking away.
After school...
At the school's library...
Arthur is looking at some books on the shelf. He's looking for a good history book to borrow, though he's not really into history. Yet, he knew he had to work on his history. His mom would cut his head off if he didn't make it to college.
Damn..where the hell is it? Arthur thought.
"Hey! Need some help?"
A familiar voice called him from behind. Arthur turned around to see a girl with brown hair standing in front of him, wearing a turquoise sweater and black jeans. Though Arthur had a few girls clinging on to him from time to time, she's the girl who literally doesn't get tired of getting in the friendzone, yet, Arthur knew she was sweet enough that he didn't really want it to look too obvious that he's gonna ignore her at some points when he sees another woman who is more attractive. Well, she wasn't really annoying or anything, literally she's just another girl who has a huge crush on him, but doesn't seem to ask too much since she knew their relationship is different. You could say, they started with a one night stand. Yup, she's none other than Candice.
"Nah, I think it's around here," says Arthur as he continues to search the shelf.
"What are you looking for?" Candice asks.
"History book," says Arthur, not moving his vision from the shelf.
"Oh, it's on the other side," says Candice as starts to head the other direction.
Arthur looks at her walking to get the book, in which he decided to follow from behind. Slowly, he starts staring at her body from behind, moving like she only has one thing in her mind...the history book, at this moment. He couldn't help but hold a small laugh.
"Ah, here it is," says Candice as grabs the book from the top shelf, making her stand on her toes. She hands Arthur the big book that says "All About History".
"Thanks! This could be nice," says Arthur as he starts studying the cover of the book.
"So, I assumed you are starting to get interest in history?" Candice asks with a small smile, in which eventually burst out a small laugh.
"Well, I still have to practice it. I have to make it work," says Arthur.
"That's great! So maybe..do you want me to help you with it? I mean, I love history," says Candice.
"No thanks! I can totally do this," says Arthur with a small smile. The two got into eye contact after Arthur notice that Candice had been smiling at him.
"Uhmm..well, I have to.." Arthur wasn't able to finish his sentence, as he soon got surprised by a familiar voice.
"Arthur!"
A girl with long blonde hair came running to his direction. She's wearing her cheerleader uniform, and her hair is tie into a ponytail.
"Did you found the book?" Liana asks as Arthur's vision now moves from Candy to her.
"Just did," says Arthur with a big smile as he stares at Liana filled with admiration.
"Great! By the way, let's study at Cup-A-Cinno this evening. Man, studying at home is so boring," says Liana with a whiny tone.
"Sure," says Arthur with a wink, as Liana is now giggling with happiness. Candice just stood there in the middle of the happy couple, watching the two of them as feels her heart getting broke again.
"Well, I gotta go! My mom just texted, she's already waiting outside," says Candice as she force herself to form a smile.
"Sure thing. Goodbye, Candy," says Liana.
"Yeah, bye," says Arthur, not even bothering to look at Candice for a moment. He's too busy getting his mind lost in Liana's eyes.
"Ok, bye," says Candice as walks away from the couple to exit the library. She could feel her heart getting crush again. Slowly, tears starting to fill her eyes, yet she tries her best to hold in it. She couldn't cry in front of anyone, especially not at school.
6 PM..
Tyler is practicing his DJ skills inside his room. He wants to perform as a DJ for the school's talent show. He's currently practicing remixing some songs, trying to find the right match that goes well.
"Bro!! Can you turn it down? I'm talking with Luke on the phone," says a girl with long dark brown pigtails. She looks like she's around 14 years old, and is wearing black framed glasses, a white t-shirt, and light brown shorts.
"Damn, I'm practicing my remixing skills, Amber," says Tyler as he removes his headsets.
"Ugh, you're interupting my sweet talks," says Amber exactly sounding like grumpy teenager at this point. Damn, sometimes Tyler wished he could twist her head, yet, she's still his sister. No matter how annoying she gets at some points, he will still have a place in his heart in which he cared for her.
"Ugh, I have a talent show to attend, sis," Tyler says.
"You really don't understand a thing about relationships, do ya, bro?" Amber asks in which she puts her hands on her waist.
"I'm too hot for relationships, sis! My inbox is already full. Lindsay even cheated on Arthur once with me. Oh, and Tiff got Scott in fury when we made out at Alexis' house party," says Tyler, as he continues to sort out his CDs.
"Damn, brother! Don't you think it's time you get a good girl you can bring home? So maybe..you would understand how I feel when your jerk sibling gets too noisy," says Amber with an annoyed tone.
"Single, hot, admire me yes, but keep me no," says Tyler with confidence as he stares at his little sister. "I'm not too easy to trust people."
"Damn, you're stubborn, bro! Wait till I tell mom about you being rude again," says Amber as she storms out.
"Whatever," says Tyler as he continue to put his headphones on, playing the next CD.
To be continue...
