Chapter 19 Ben And Tricia Discover The Truth

Ben and Tricia met a junction of two paths and did not know where to divert to. "We've lost Mr Joseph", Tricia moaned.
"Let's try our right", Ben went into the path, gestured for Tricia to join him, which she did.
Meanwhile, the SS1 student had left the house, but feeling a bit anxious, did not want to walk into the dark woods. "How were they bold enough to pull such stunt?", he wondered.
Ben and Tricia soon heard voices around where they were. "I recognize Mr Joseph's voice amongst them", Tricia stated.
Their path ended at a colony of shrubs. They could hear the strange voices even louder. "They're across this shrub colony", Ben whispered.
He held Tricia's hand firmly and they tiptoed over the shrubs. When they got behind a tree, they could see light in the area - the fire that served as source of vision where Joseph was having his secret meeting with his cult members.
Ben and Tricia peeped from behind the tree. They could see Mr Joseph and his people having a secret meeting.
"What's going on here?", Tricia asked in a very low tone.
"From what I see, this is a cult meeting", he whispered in shock.
"Mr Joseph is in a cult group?!", Tricia expressed shock.
"And not just any cultist", Ben signalled at Tricia to stay attentive.
"They are fast asleep by now and I'm sure one of them is already dead by now", Joseph uttered.
Ben and Tricia glimpsed at each other, perplexed by the words of their director. "He's talking about the driver right?", Ben assumed.
"So he did poison the driver", Tricia felt disgusted.
"And how about the driver? Have you got rid of him?", the Master questioned Joseph.
"That one is long gone. I poisoned him", he replied.
Ben and Tricia gasped in shock, glimpsing at each other. "He actually meant earlier one of us, the students is already dead by now", Tricia got scared.
"And who could that be?", Ben whispered.
"Let's go find out who that is before we get caught", Tricia spoke with urgency. They turned to go but were startled to see the SS1 student standing on their way.
"I heard everything", he gasped out.
"Is anyone there?!", a stentorian voice was heard.
"Let's go! Let's go!", Tricia tapped on the boy's back. They all quickly ran away.
"Did you hear anyone talking?", Joseph asked the member.
"That's what I felt", he shrugged off his shoulders.
Three of them ran out of the woods, back to the building. They were struck by terror for a while when Ben tried opening the door but it could not open.
"No! No! No! This can't be true!", Tricia gasped out, looking behind to be sure no one was approaching them.
The door miraculously opened and they all ran in, Ben shutting the door by mistake. They looked up to find out if anyone would come out after Ben had shut the door hard unknowingly.
They looked through the window, their hearts easing down a little. They saw no one coming.
"Mr Joseph wants all of us dead. He said one of us is already dead", the SS1 boy spoke with difficulty from all the running.
"Who could that person be?", Tricia looked up the stairs, catching her breath.
All of a sudden, Ben saw  Joseph popping out of the woods and approaching them quickly. "He's coming!", he alarmed the rest.
They looked through the window to see for themselves.  They ran up the stairs quickly. Tricia and Ben opened their room door steadily and went inside, the SS1 boy doing the same, getting into his room as quick as possible.
Joseph opened the door and went into the house. He ascended the stairs to go check on the students. He checked inside every room, one after the other.
He went into the JS2 room and saw every one asleep - his flashlight was on. He saw eventually, the lifeless boy by the door in his sleeping bag and gave a knowing smile over it.
He went also to the SS1 students room and it seemed everyone was in dream world. The boy who was awake however, backed him so he would not see the eyes open. He closed the door and went over to the other rooms.
Tricia and Ben noticed someone was standing at their door with light on. They hurriedly faked up their sleep, both backing the door. Mr Joseph opened the door and walked in.  After a while of having his nose round and sensing nothing suspicious, he walked away and closed the door.
He went down the stairs into the living room. "I need to do quick and get out of here", he said as he ambulated to his room.

Tricia was the first to wake up from sleep again. She yawned as she stretched herself. She had smiles all over her face, happy to see a new day. She had forgotten what happened in the early hours of the morning. It was past seven when she checked for the time in her phone.
Her happiness was short-lived though, because loud screams of people were heard suddenly from another room.  She immediately remembered what she had just witnessed around midnight.
"Oh my God! It's probably because of the fellow student that died last night", she felt anxious. She hastily left her futon and ran out of the room. The screaming had already woken up some of her classmates gradually.
She traced the screaming to the JS2 room and opened the door. She could see the frightened children clustering at a corner of the wall and screaming. She looked down by the door and saw the lifeless boy with dried blood from his mouth and around his head. His sleeping bag was opened up. A friend of his knelt by his side, tears rolling down his cheek.
The sight of the dead boy and the blood especially, gave Tricia some shivers down her spine. She was extremely scared, especially because she knew it was what their director was planning to do to everyone. Students from the various rooms joined her to know what had caused the commotion. They all were horrified to see a fellow student that was brutally murdered.
While people all gathered at the JS2 students room, Tricia left them for Mr Joseph's room. She got to the room and saw it partly open. She stopped by the door to eavesdrop on Mr Joseph's conversation with someone over the phone.
"I won't really leave them, I'll stay with them but they won't see me. You know how we do it right?", he giggled.
"What is he up to?", Tricia went closer to the door.
"You're right! They may soon begin to suspect me and I won't know what to tell them, so please, come today", Mr Joseph asked calmly, "But I won't completely leave them, so they'd be haunted until they completely get annihilated" , he said.
Tricia gasped, closing her mouth in utmost shock. "He wants to end us all", she said inwardly.
While she stood there, a couple of frightened junior secondary school, walked past her quickly into Mr Joseph's room. They informed him of the death of one of their very own. Tricia immediately composed herself to avoid suspicion.
"What?!", he exclaimed and ended his call, "What happened to him?", he ran out of the room, past Tricia with a friend worried expression. The junior students swiftly followed him. Tricia watched him go in amazement.
"I need to get proof. I wasn't with my phone, would have recorded this. Mr Joseph can't get away with this. He wants to make us victims of his rituals", she felt very angry, folding her fists.
