Chapter 23 Father Christmas Reveals Himself

Dominic got down to studying the book of black magic when he got home. The first section explained the black mirror ritual. He read about it carefully and also how one could overcome another that performed such ritual.
Meanwhile, his Mum sat on another chair, trying to call Tricia for the hundredth time in a row. She felt so guilty about everything. She looked at her son and begged him. "Please find out where our Tricia is as fast as possible."
Dominic paused in his reading and sighed, looking up to his Mum. "That's exactly what I'm doing", he said. What he needed least at that moment was distraction.
"What book are you reading?", Mum questioned, feeling curious.
"I'm studying a book that will help me find her. Trust me Mum!", he replied, showing he did not want her distraction. He never wanted his Mum finding out he was studying a book of black magic.
Mum said nothing more. She kept her phone on a nearby stool and laid on the chair, facing upwards.

It was night time! The students taking a tour went about their various activities. Ben and Tricia were on the corridor up the stairs. They rested on the barricade, watching the junior students playing some games down the living room.
"Every second spent here, my heart skips a beat even more", Tricia said to Ben. She wondered how relaxed many of them were after what they had experienced.
"What you heard Mr Joseph telling someone over the phone is something we shouldn't joke with. That's why I'm here watching over everything", said Ben. Tricia soughed and silence reigned as they watched the students playing down the living room.
There was a group of students participating in a truth game at the centre of the living room. A girl excused herself so she could go pee. They were JS3 students.
"Are you scared of telling another truth?", a boy smirked at her. People around chuckled over what he said.
"Very funny", she replied to him with a silly voice and left with a frown.
"Hurry up so we could continue", a girl said to her in a high tone. She was feeling way excited about the game.
The girl went into the passage that led to Mr Joseph's room. The first toilet room she saw, she opened the door and went in.
Meanwhile, Tricia left Ben to go check on their friends in their room. "Let me check on our mates", she tapped on his shoulder and went off. Ben remained where he was watching the younger ones carrying on with their various activities.
The JS3 girl was done peeing. She opened the door to step out but got startled to find herself in a dark place. "Who turned off the lights?", she turned round in search for the switches.
When frustration was about to heighten, the lights were automatically switched on. She finally spotted the switch but became even more startled when she realized the switch was not turned on.
She looked up at the bulb. "How did it switch on?", she asked herself, "And how did I end up in a room instead of a passage?", she felt confused. She was about opening the door to leave when the lights went off. After a short while, it went back on, but instead of a white light, it was a red light this time.
"Hello!", a deep strange voice huffed behind. She turned behind slowly to see who had such horrifying voice. She was astonished to see Father Christmas sitting on a chair at the other end of the room. He wore a mischievous smile.
"Father Christmas!", she exclaimed, "Aren't you dead?", she stared at him, taking some steps backwards to the door she came out from.
"What do you want for Christmas?", he smirked at her.
"I'm not interested in any presents", she stammered. From his strange looks and behaviour, she could sense it was a ghost. Her greatest fear came when she quickly wanted opening the door to flee but it could not open. She gasped and swallowed dryly, looking at Father Christmas who watched her, wearing an evil smile.
"If you would just make a wish, you could have opened that door and left with no problem", it gazed at her.
"But I don't want anything from you", she raised her voice in anger. She was beginning to shed tears.
"Just make a wish and you'll leave here", it said to her casually.
She calmed down and wiped off her tears. "I really don't know what to wish for", she said, walking up to the other door directly opposite her. She turned the handle, but like the other one, it could not open. She turned to see Father Christmas's reaction, which was only an impatient looking face.
"But I just told you I don't know what to wish for", she stressed out, heart beating faster.
Father Christmas soughed and shook his head. "How about I suggest it for you?", he gestured.
"What do you have in mind?", she got curious.
"It's a gift I won't stop giving people until I'm able to give it to the person that truly deserves it", he smiled slyly at her. She gazed at him in a confused state, not understanding what he was saying.
"What gift is that?", she asked, attempting to open the door once more but to no avail. She looked at him to hear what he wanted to say, sensing something bad would happen.
"Death!", he exclaimed, smiling widely, showing off the teeth. The girl gasped and quickly wanted running across to the other door when he got up and ran after her like the wind and gripped her tightly at the neck before she could get to the door.
"Your Christmas gift this year is death!", he yelled at her, tightening his grip. Blood flowed out of her neck and mouth as she slowly passed away.

Her friends that were playing the truth game were becoming worried. "Why isn't she here yet?", a boy wondered.
"Let me go check up on her", the girl who urged her to go pee in a hurry stood up and headed for the toilet room. The rest waited for her to come back with their missing mate.
As Ben kept on checking out everywhere randomly from where he stood, he spotted two boys heading somewhere not close to where people were when he turned right. He stopped a junior student to ask him where those boys were going to.
"Where do you know around there?", he asked the boy, pointing at those two boys.
"The way to the right is where you'll find the convenience rooms while the way to the left leads to a corridor of locked rooms", replied the boy. Ben thanked the boy, tapping on his head lightly before letting him go.
Ben watched the boys to know where they would turn to. They eventually turned right. "They went to the convenience rooms passage", he deduced to himself.
It was not long after when those two boys ran out of the passage, yelling at the top of their voices in fright. They ran down the corridor, squeezing past the people on the way and down the stairs. Everybody got alarmed and scared at once.
"What's going on?", Ben thought.
Father Christmas popped out of the passage and stood far in front of everyone around, holding the dead body of that girl by the hand. It smiled mischievously at everyone.
Everyone upstairs screamed in terror and ran away immediately. Their screaming alerted the people inside their rooms, who all came out to find out what was happening. On seeing a blood-stained Father Christmas dragging along a dead body and slowly approaching them, they all fled for their lives.
Ben ran down the stairs with Tricia. "What kind of Father Christmas is that?!", screamed Tricia.
The ones who were downstairs were already heading outside. The girl who had gone to check on her friend in the toilet was confused on seeing people running down the stairs and out of the building in a horrified state.
She looked up and saw an evil looking Father Christmas slowly approaching the stairs. People outside the building yelled at her to join them. She immediately listened to them and ran to the door.
Father Christmas threw the corpse down the stairs and it dropped right at the door. "Oh my God!", the girl screamed on recognizing it was her close friend. She began to shed tears uncontrollably. Some fellow students dragged her away from the building and its premises.
Father Christmas stepped out of the building and saw the students running into the woods. The girl crying was carried on the shoulder by a senior male student...they were the last in the run. She could not believe it was her friend that was killed so brutally. Father Christmas only stood at a place this time, wearing a faint knowing smile.
