When the three of them arrived, I was crawling out of the car. Cuts and bruises everywhere. The driver is dead and Mr. Roth’s unconscious. “He’s still in there,” I said, panting. “Who’s in there?” Collin asked as he and Merikh helped me up. “Your dad.” Collin left me with Merikh to pull his father out of the car. He laid him on the ground, he wasn’t shocked to see his father possessing a much younger man. He knew his father wanted to stay young forever, to be immortal. So this, it wasn’t much of a shock to him. The night is turning cold, rain drizzling over us. Collin was standing over his father, “let’s take him.” “Dude, are you serious?” Merikh asked, “did you forget what he did, not only to Mia, but to your family?” “I know. But he will be useful if we want to fight Beleth. We can find out what he’s planning.” “If that’s what you want to do,” I started, “you need to tie him up. Do you guys have my duffel?” “Yeah, it’s in the trunk,” Collin pointed. Merikh took it from the trunk and gave it to me then I fished out a handcuff. “Tie him with this,” I said as I hand it over to Collin. “What’s this?” “It’s a handcuff with sigils on it. It will help contain the demon inside its vessel. He won’t be able to get out of it too.” He took the cuffs to his dad’s wrists, Azriel helped Mr. Roth sit up and Collin swung a hard slap. He jolted awake and saw his son right in front of him, “Collin?” he said. He was about to put a hand on his son’s cheek but Collin swatted his hand off. They led him to the car and placed him on the passenger’s seat where Collin can see him. I sat between Merikh and Azriel, which was kind of like a joke. An angel and a demon on my shoulders. “So, uhm, where did you get the car?” I asked, breaking the awkward silence. “We stole it from the house beside the B&B,” replied Azriel. “We borrowed it,” corrected Collin. Merikh shook his head, “we stole it,” he whispered. The car became quiet. Azriel is asleep, and Merikh’s already starting to doze off. Collin and his dad are quiet as well. I was positioning myself to sleep when suddenly Mr. Roth started talking to Collin. “So, you and these three, huh? What good did it get you?” Collin didn’t reply. “What happened to my men, Collin? What did you do to ‘em?” This time, Collin chuckled, “I killed most of ‘em, especially those who are still loyal to you.” “Oh, is that so?” he snorted, “what about the others?” “What about ‘em? You think they’ll be on your side just ‘cause you’re alive again?” Collin chuckled again, “they were all fed up with you and your mistreatment of them. None of them wants you back, alright? So, just, just let it go.” We arrived at the B&B where we were staying when I was abducted. Azriel started doing some rituals and placing Holy Sigils around the area so we can be protected from anything. Collin took his dad to the basement where it’s dark and no one will know he’s there, again, thanks to Azriel and Merikh. Collin stayed with his father who seems to never want to shut up. He’s singing one of Frank Sinatra’s songs, I didn’t know it until Azriel sang along and told us who sang it. I wonder what Collin is thinking right now. *** “Dad, will you please just shut the fuck up?!” he was getting frustrated and his dad just laughed. “Oh come on, son! You used to love it when I sing,” his father replied. “Yeah, that was back when we’re human and I still give a shit about you.” Collin stood up from where he was sitting, “dad. What are you doing with Beleth?” His father replied with another song, this time, it’s from Beastie Boys. “Dad!” Collin yelled in frustration. He walked closer to him and punched him. His father laughed at him even when he’s bleeding from the lips. “I will ask you again. What are you doing with Beleth?!” his voice boomed that Mia, Azriel, and Merikh went down to the basement to check what’s going on. When his father replied with just a laugh, Collin gave him more punches in his face. Azriel and Merikh held him to stop. “He will not be a use to us if he’s dead,” Merikh said to him. “I remember you telling that to me about your precious Nephilim,” Collin’s dad reminded Merikh, “she became a great use to me.” Collin’s dad looked at Mia and winked at her. Mia gave him a grossed look and gave him a nice round of a punch. Mia walked to them and asked to be left with Collin’s dad, “don’t worry. I’ll be fine. I’ll be okay.” The three guys went upstairs to give Mia some time with their hostage. *** I watched the three of them go up the stairs. Merikh was the last one to go up, staring at Mr. Roth. I turned around to face the man who tortured me in his dungeon, but now it’s my turn. I took a knife out that’s been tucked between my belt and my pants. I showed him the knife and placed the tip under his chin, “so, let’s get started.” I smiled at him. A sinister smile. The smile of someone wanting to tear this man into pieces. “You really wanted to be alone with me, don’t you?” he smugly asked. I laughed then punched him across the face, “you fucking wish. I’m going to ask you some questions. You better answer truthfully or else –“ “Or else what?” “Or else I will cut you open,” I said, placing the knife to his throat. “Now, what are you doing with Beleth?” “Screw you.” “I will ask you again. What are you doing with Beleth?” Mr. Roth laughed. I punched him in the face, “what are you doing with Beleth?!” “Screw. You,” he replied with a smug smile. I stood up taller and placed the knife on his arm and started cutting. He screamed, “you bitch!” I bent forward, “I will ask one more time, what are you doing with Beleth?!” he was about to laugh when I placed the knife across his neck, “are you going to answer me or what?” “Fine,” he rolled his eyes, “he needed my help.” “For what?” he glared at me, “I said for what?!” digging the knife a little deeper onto his neck. He winced, “to get Lucifer.” “That’s impossible. He’s dead!” “Or was he?” he glared at me one more time, “he is where angels and demons go when they die. It has no name, and it’s just nothing.” “The 66 seals have already been broken. Lucifer has already started the Apocalypse. Why need him again?” I asked, out of curiosity. Mr. Roth smiled, “so we can close the gates of Heaven and let all the Angels fall,” then he laughed. I was enraged, all I can see was red. I didn’t know I’ve been beating the hell out of Mr. Roth, not until Merikh has grabbed me. Walking away from Mr. Roth, Collin and Azriel ran towards him. They were checking his pulse, “he’s still alive,” I heard Collin say then I saw him look at me. I can see empathy in his eyes. Merikh turned my head away from the gruesome image I made of Mr. Roth. Azriel healed Mr. Roth, but not completely. He just healed a few cuts that are enough for him to be reminded of what I can do to him. Merikh gave me a glass of water to drink the rage out of me. Collin sat on one of the chairs in the reception area, looking at whatever news he can get from his people – the monsters that sided with him when his father died. After I finished my water, I told them that I wanted to rest. The sun is almost up and I haven’t had a good sleep. I went up to the second floor and found a nice enough room that I can lay down in. I was about to close my eyes when I heard a knock on my door. I got up and opened the door to see Merikh standing outside. He smiled at me then he leaned towards me, giving me a long, passionate kiss. It was different from the first kiss he gave me when we got stuck with the Lotus Eaters. I walked back inside the room, and he walked forward. We were still entangled in a kiss when he closed the door from behind him. He slowly laid me down on the bed, taking his shirt off revealing his perfect 6-pack abs. Then he bent back down to kiss me, helping me take my own shirt off. I placed my hand to his head, messing his hair up, grabbing it as he started kissing my neck. *** Collin was about to go up the stairs when he bumped into Azriel, “don’t, uhm, don’t go up there just yet,” he said. He furrowed his eyebrows, “why not?” “For your own good, just, don’t. Okay?” then Azriel just walked away real fast. He looked up the stairs and continued his way up. He passed by one room, then another, and then he heard a loud moan in the last room he passed by. He took a few steps backward, and he heard Mia moaning. He was about to knock when he heard Merikh inside as well. He puts his hand down, turned back around, and just walked away. He went back downstairs, passing by Azriel. “Told you not to go up,” he commented as he reads a book. He went down to his father who greeted him with a smug smile, “guess your fallen angel has tasted his own piece of Heaven.” “Why do you want to close the gates of Heaven?” he asked his father as he grabbed a chair and sat in front of him. “Son, I know you’re pissed that the woman you love is with someone else, but don’t be pathetic. I taught you better than that,” his father said. “I am not being pathetic. I am doing my job, and that is to find out why the fuck you want to close the gates of Heaven?!” “Do you want to know? Do you really want to know?” Collin nodded, “yeah, I do.” His father motioned for him to come closer, “go to Hell. I am not telling you shit.” Collin backed away then he stood up. His father laughed, and he punched him hard across his face, leaving his nose to bleed and get a busted lip.
