"He really said those things?" Ella's voice has been marked with disbelief the moment I told her what happened earlier. We are inside talk and chill and she's currently on her short break, while I am busy washing the dishes. "Would I tell you that he did it if he didn't?" I rolled my eyes as I rinsed the dirty white plate and put it on the side of the sink. I am still infuriated with what he did. After saying those words, he abruptly stormed out of that cold room, leaving me speechless and dumbfounded. I understand he is angry, but what I am pointing at is that he should at least told me that he's mad and not to wait for him. He knows how important studies are for me. And he believes I will eventually like him? Absurd. "But girl, he had all the rights to get angry. Even a child promises revenge when she's hurt so what do you expect?" I stopped wiping the next plate and glanced at her behind my shoulders. "Are you saying that you are taking his side?" I furrowed my brows and glared at her. This girl is my best friend, yet she is taking his side. "No. I understand how you feel, but come to think of it, you ditched Auton and he wants you to feel the same thing as he did, " she shrugged her shoulders and smiled at me. "And, you always tell me that you don't like him, but why did you wait for him in the first place?" My eyes widened at her words. My lips parted a bit, giving small breathing to let go of the frustration that is building up inside me. "I said, I don't like him." I reiterated, or more like, convincing myself. I just chose to focus on washing the dishes. I heard the opening and closing of the door, and when I felt that I was the only one left in the kitchen, I sighed. Ella is kind of right. I shouldn't have waited for him. I don't want him to court me, either. But there is something inside me who's telling me to get angrier. Like I have all the right to complain. I shook my head. This is absurd. "Admit it, Tayla. You like him. I can see it from you..." I jumped out of shock when I heard Ella's voice behind me. I blinked my eyes thrice. "Are you still not done washing the plates? It's going to be peak hours, we need more manpower." I turned the faucet off and reached for the hand towel on the refrigerator and followed her on the bar. I started roaming around the left-wing, asking for orders and put it on the counter, placing some trays on the designated table when Ella approached me. She was holding a tray of root beers in her left hand. "What?" I mouthed. Her face looked troubled, that look when you are battling between telling someone a thing or not. "You shouldn't have come here if you won't tell me what it is." Annoyed by what she was doing, I rolled my eyes. "Auton..." she whispered, pulling my hand closer and making me move sidewards, facing the first table on the left-wing. "He just got here maybe thirty minutes before you went out of the kitchen." She let go of my hands and started to walk behind me. My eyes dropped at the man. He was again, in his gray shirt and man bun. His eyes were on his phone, and his fingers busy typing something. What would I do if he is here, anyway? I just shook my head and decided to ignore him the whole night. I'm just thankful that I chose to serve the tables on the left-wing, preventing more encounters from that man. He ditched me, and he even had the guts to go here for what? An indie band was playing on the stage, making the room a bit dim to highlight the performers. I went towards the bar counter and wiped the sweat at the side of my head, Ella also put her tray down and tilted her head to the right. "Auton is with a girl right now, " she said, her lips pouting on the man's place. Even when I told myself that I don't care, I still turned my head and glanced at the man. She's with a girl again. But not the same woman as before. This girl right now is sporting a jet black short hair and a maroon tight dress. Her winged eyeliner is on point, and her thin red lips made her look bolder. I sighed and convinced myself to just ignore them. That is Auton's life. If she wants to date another girl then I should let him be. "Waiter!" My thoughts were interrupted by a loud voice from afar. The girl beside Auton is waving her hands at me, motioning me to come nearer. I glanced at Ella, indirectly telling her to attend to the girl but she purposely ignored me and acted like she's going to attend to someone on the left-wing...leaving me with no choice but to march towards the table. "Order?" I raised the small notepad and boringly glanced at the lady. Looking closely, she's pretty. I don't know if I am bragging, but I don't see any advantage from me other than she looked well off. "Uhm...babe, what do you want to order?" I wrinkled my nose. Babe? The girl tilted her head and gaze at Auton, who seems to be avoiding my eyes. I sighed and tapped the pen on the notepad, making them see that I am in a rush and I need to get their order quickly. I saw the girl's arm moving, she must be touching Auton's thigh underneath the table. I blew out some are and rolled my eyes. "Excuse me, Mr. May I now take your order?" Auton's head turned to me. I saw him lick his lip and immediately averted his gaze. "Ah..." he cleared his throat and tapped the table with his fingers. He moved closer to the girl's ear, making my forehead crease more than what it is earlier. The heck is wrong with this man that he even had to whisper to the girl? Such a flirt. I knew he would be like this. Makes sense that I didn't get swayed by his words. I take down their orders and marched towards the counter, waiting for their order as I watch how the girl's hand traveled around his body. "If looks could kill, you are now a murderer." Ella stopped in front of me and crossed her arms. My upper lip moved, my eyes still glued at the girl's moves. "Why did he even go here if he would only flirt with another woman? There are better clubs outside and this bar is only for those people who want to chill." I touched the inside of my cheeks using my tongue and hissed before going back to their table. Auton's eyes darted at me, and then to the drinks in front of him. I don't know why, but my blood is boiling so hot that I want to tear him off the girl's hands. I put the glasses as fast as I can and took my short break, calming myself down as the night gets darker. But just when I thought that they would begone, I caught them dancing in the middle of the dance floor. The clock ticked at 10 pm, meaning that the band was already done and the crowd will go wild. The dj is mixing good, upbeat music. The girl's hand snaked around his nape, her waist swaying from side to side as she tried to seduce the man. I saw him slowly putting his hand on her waist, pulling her closer as he danced with her. What the heck? I started to march towards the crowd, pushing every person aside to reach where they are. My eyes were already glaring at him. My chest was going up and down, my feet match the speed of my heartbeats. When I got nearer, I saw the girl moving her face closer, but Auton's eyes found me. He immediately removed his hands around the girl but I was already in front of them. "Can you get your hands off him?" I uttered in a low, yet infuriated voice.
