I woke up this morning, feeling much better than the previous day. Should I say, thanks to Jessica or should I keep it to myself?
I got up from the bed, this time ready and strong enough to go hunt or rather, look for my children. I hate to state the fact that they are missing.
I brushed my teeth thoroughly. After that, I went ahead to take my bath so I would start up for the day. As soon as I was done bathing, I dried my body with my towel then I dressed up quickly.
I left my room and went downstairs. First, to Nancy's room where Jessica slept. Jessica was still sleeping. Well, I am an early riser, so I don't really blame her for sleeping to that extent. I opened the door and walked in, to see her sleeping soundly.
She looked so beautiful even in her sleep. She was light-skinned and very pretty to look upon. She was taller and weightier and had all the curves every lady wanted. In skin color, she was a direct opposite of me.
I knocked on the door as soon as I entered to wake her up, but she didn't seem to wake up. I knocked again, but still she didn't stir.
I walked up to her and was about tapping her, atleast a bit hard so she would wake.
"I heard you, when you knocked first Sonia. But, I am really tired and I still need to sleep."
"It's morning already."
"Early morning to be precise, I want my space and I want to sleep as well, so leave me alone please."
"I guess it's my turn to disturb, huh."
"You better not, or else you are ready to forfeit going anywhere today."
"Alright alright alright, I give up. I'm leaving now. I want to prepare something for us to eat, when you are ready, please go to the kitchen and get something. I might be off by the time you wake up finally."
"Wait a minute, off to where? Jessica asked more awake now than before.
"Off to... Jessica you know what I am planning on doing today, so stop acting ignorant okay."
"Well, atleast I know a bit of what you want to do today, but I am quite ignorant of where you want to be off to, huh."
"I guess I should just keep that to myself. Well, have a good morning extra sleep Jessica, I will get back to you later, perhaps when I have found them successfully."
"I promised not to stop you today, so, go ahead then. I will call you later as well."
"One more thing please." I said to her.
"What is it? Jessica asked.
"Please, call the office and Inform then that I won't be around today as well, till this week ends, alright." I said.
"Is that, an order, a command or a request?
"Jessica come on. It's a request, okay."
"Better. Today is Thursday, so you have just tomorrow to miss for the week. It isn't that bad."
"Well yeah, you are right in a way." I said to her and gave her a very quick smile, then I left the room.
I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, before leaving the house. I had planned on going to the police station to report the incident to any top officer, so they could attend to the case on time before anything silly happens.
I decided to prepare yam and tomato-egg sauce. Yam and sauce is always my favorite and I could eat it anytime and anywhere as well.
I went to the store and picked up a tuber of yam that would be enough for both of us and remain. I peeled off the yam and sliced them to my taste. Then, I washed it, very carefully so it doesn't start to itch me.
After I was done with washing the yam, I put them inside a pot, filled it with water, added a little spoon of salt and then I placed it on the fire to boil.
As the yam was boiling on the fire, I went ahead to prepare the food items I needed to to get the sauce done. I sliced some tomatoes. Did so to the pepper as well and the onion.
I checked the yam once in a while so it doesn't get too soft or I won't like it. When I checked it the last time and I saw that it was ready, I sieved out the water from the food and transferred the yam into a better container.
I prepared the sauce for the yam and in no time, I was done with it already. I dished out mine into a plate, then j left the rest of it inside the pot for Jessica to eat to her fill.
I ate silently in the kitchen, since I had no visible company and I couldn't afford to be talking to myself for so long.
When I finished with my meal, I washed out the plates I used in eating and arranged it on the rack where it is supposed to be.
I left the kitchen and went to the sitting room to stay for a while, as I waited for the food I had eaten to digest, before finally leaving.
I remembered that I had not spoken to Alex. He didn't call me yesterday and I did not remember to call him either. Whenever I get reminded of him by anything, I find myself getting scared more. Especially for the fact that, his business trip will be ending this weekend. That means, if by weekend, my kids, our kids are not found, then there is every tendency that my marriage will be a disaster.
Right now, I wished I never gave birth or even got married. I wouldn't have been put into such situation as this. How do I break this kind of news to my husband, my love. After going for business trip and all the stress, who is supposed to come back and spend some more time with family. How do I explain to him that I bluntly went against him and that was how I got to be in the situation I am now. It's not easy to face and the worst part of it all is that I have a very very limited time to act or do something.i noticed that I was beginning to lose focus of things. I was beginning to get so angry at everyone and also everything that tries to come my way, whether good or bad.
I picked up my phone to call Alex. My fingers were trembling greatly as I picked up the phone to even type his number. I couldn't do it. But, I needed to call him and speak to me. Or else, he might start suspecting something different from what it is originally.
After some frantic efforts to call Alex and I couldn't, I gave up on that. But then I thought, if I can not reach out to him through call so we doesn't find out, I can get through to him via a text message. So, that's what I did. I sent him a lovely text message, then I ended it with the fact that I will be so busy and he shouldn't bother calling me till night when I am about to retire to sleep.
That was better than doing nothing, I thought within myself. I am sure he will get my message, even if he does have so much time to make call, he will definitely read that message.
I still felt trouble within me. I know that it was very wrong for me to keep this news about our children from my husband. People are starting to reconsider and I needed to do mine on time.
I knew I was in a very big trouble, but I don't know who I could ask for help. I really can't ask Jessica, that lady has been helping me out. I wouldn't want to stress her out.
I remembered my mom. Oh yes! How could I have forgotten the woman with the mindset of a god. How could I have forgotten the wise old woman.
I picked up my phone from where I had dropped it, then I went ahead to dial my mother's name.
She will be surprised to see me calling and this early, but she won't cut me off when I start to tell her about this
I dialed her number and waited for her to reply.
"Hello, Sonia my love." She said.
"Mummy, sweet mummy. Good morning ma. How are you doing this very morning? I asked her, sounding as lively as I could so she won't be suspicious of a thing until I tell her.
"I am very fine my darling? How are you and your children. It has been a while since I saw all of you."
"Mom, you worry too much. We are all very fine. Hope you have not had any health issues since the last one? I asked her, smiling like she was seeing me.
"No no, not really. You would have heard if I did. Well, what is wrong with you? Hope all is well? She asked.
"Nothing is wrong with me, it's just..."
"Tell me the truth Sonia, you know you can't hide anything from me. So, tell me the truth." She said.
"Well, mom. Marvin and Marvela have been kidnapped!
