When we arrived at the restaurant Mr. Molina reserved two long tables and chairs and he acted as the manager of our group. The waiter gave him two menu manuals then Mr. Molina approached us and give to Ms. Jessica the second manual, they asked us what we wanted to eat and we agreed that we would choose platters, there was Pork adobo with potato which was good for 15 people including additional dishes like Sinigang, unlimited rice and drinks. That would fit for our number and we could share our foods, they still had a free appetizer so that's all we ordered.
A few minutes later the waiter put down the large bowls with just steaming Pork Adobo with potato and the aroma was really delicious., This is a saucier pork adobo version with cubes of potatoes in it. I’m not sure where this dish originated. It might have been initially created as a filler to feed more people. Nevertheless, I liked the taste. I think that it can be improved by pan-frying the potato first. Most of the flavors gets absorbed by the potato. It can be a carbohydrate overload when I eat the potato with rice. Subsequently served the Sinigang wherein shrimp is used as the main ingredient. This dish also includes a variety of vegetables such as daikon radish, snake beans, okra, and eggplant. This dish is best served during cold weather. Our order foods followed with rice, drinks and chop seuy, this chop suey recipe is special because it has almost every ingredient present. Chicken, pork, shrimp, and boiled quail eggs were all included in the recipe, along with fresh veggies.
We started sharing food and it seemed like we were in a boodle fight then, I watched Lara and Andrea carefully and they seemed curious and excited to taste different foods, I helped Lara spoon food, I was even able to serve her and take a small bowl of Sinigang soup until I saw in the other corner that Vanessa was looking at us carefully I didn't accidentally look at her and there I realized a little sadness and regret in her eyes as she intently looked at us, when she noticed me looking at her she was suddenly embarrassed and she averted her eyes from me. While on the other hand everyone was busy eating and drinking the refreshing juices, there was a couple eating and Charles really joined in the sweet moments of the other classmates, he spoon fed the food to Andrea and I really just laughed at Andrea's reaction, I didn't understand and I’m confused if she has hidden feelings for Charles or is she really just reciprocating the kindness he shows her but whichever she chooses, I am happy that even with her simple appreciation she makes Charles ’heart happy.
We ate and we actually consumed the delicious food before Mr. Molina spoke about the important announcement.
"Rest first when we get back to the cottage because I know we're all tired from the trip, when you hear the whistle then you'll know that our team building is about to begin, is that clear?"
"Sir, when will our team building start so we can prepare?" Roldan asked.
"When you hear the whistle," Sir Molina assured.
After we ate was Mr. Pablito was in-charge in paying for food, we think the teachers were entrusted with the budgeting of money for our expenses at the resort. After a while we walked towards the resort and went to our respective rooms.
There are mattresses lying on the floor and each mattress is occupied by two people, Jake was beside with Endrix, Charles and Raim shared their bed and Jake are next to me on the bed while Lara and Andrea and Cecile are in the far corner. It is good that Vanessa is in the other cottage otherwise our roommates will make fun of us again.
The night went on, it was past seven o'clock and some got dressed for a shower in the bathroom, others changed clothes, we didn't have a hard time because there were so many bathrooms and comfort rooms in our cottage. I was able to talk to Lara because they had just finished talking to Andrea and Cecile, I approached her while she was sitting on the mattress.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I'm not out of place anymore, I've met a lot of our classmates and I feel great," Lara told me happily.
"That's good, by the way if you need anything don't be shy to call me and then I hope you enjoy interacting with other mortals and our activities here,"
"Thanks Lance, I’m sure I look forward to it." She said to me and she flashed a sweet smile.
"LANCE! You can use the bath room," Raim said as he finished taking a bath.
I immediately went to the bathroom with a small towel, soap, toothbrush and my new clothes. I took a quick shower and then I got dressed then I went out and I put my personal belongings in the big closet until we reached a loud whistle in the distance, we stopped for a moment what we were doing but the whistle continue to overheard somewhere. I suddenly remembered what Sir Molina had told us as we were eating lunch.
"Rest first when we get back to the cottage because I know we're all tired from the trip, when you hear the whistle then you'll know that our team building is about to begin, is that clear?"
It was there that my mind was alarmed that perhaps that whistle was the first warning for our first team building task was about to begin. My classmates immediately ran out the door, I caught up with Lara who was also a bit surprised by what happened, I grabbed her hand and we ran out the door followed by Andrea, Cecile and Jake. There were so many doors outside and we didn't know where the whistle was coming from, we went around to each exit, we were confuse because the doors were all the same, we almost got to the elevator fortunately and we saw a staff who meet us and he pointed to us where the entrance hall located, we ran towards it until we came to a large session hall near the entrance and we came across our teachers standing near so many tables with chairs, and to my surprise I saw with them is our campus nurse Ms. Anastasia Zulueta and Mr. Molina, the whistleblower who did not stop whistling until we had completed the hall.
I wonder if we can distract other guests of the resort or maybe not, because they know about the purpose of our team building.
After we all got to the hall, we couldn't help but gasp and we even caught our breath, the teachers let us rest for a while and after that we were surprised when the waiters came carrying a lot of foods, Chicken Tinola and rice are our dinner accompanied by cold water.
"Let's all eat first before we start the first task," Mr. Molina order us and I were a little taken aback by what he said.
It is pretty odd because our team building will start at night but somewhat exciting because it is my first time to experience this team building.
