It has been nearly a month since May underwent surgery to remove a breast tumor. She has improved post-surgery. And now that her recovery period is over, the doctor has stated that May can return to her normal activities.
"Congratulations, you can now go home. You may start all normal things again, ma'am. But always remember that you shouldn't be too tired and also overuse your energy!" The doctor's words made May's smile widen. She was really happy about this. She had been dreaming of this for a long time. She was back enjoying the lecturer's lecture with Nita and Rena, also canteen snacks and sometimes skipping lectures are things she has been looking forward to when this day comes.
"Ah yes, I almost forgot. Because this is still the second recovery period, maybe during activities, sometimes you will feel a little sore. So please don't panic! Because it's a form of your body's adaptation to your normal series of activities.”
May nodded. Alvin held May's hand tightly. The man put on a face that couldn't bear to look at his wife who was now smiling broadly.
"If there's anything you feel, May, just contact me wherever you are okay? You have to comply with my request," Alvin said softly.
May turned to her husband, who had always faithfully waited and supported her. May nodded with a smile. “I'm so happy, so that little pain won't get in the way and it's a big hindrance for me. Trust me."
They look deep into each other. Alvin held May's hand tighter. He was always worried about his wife.
"Okay, Mr. Alvin and Mrs. May, I'm leaving. Once again, congratulations on your recovery," Maybe responded enthusiastically to the doctor's words. She smiled broadly at the doctor while thanking him repeatedly.
Alvin did not escape seeing it all. May is very happy now, therefore Alvin can't forbid her even though a little worry dominates her heart.
The next day, May was ready for a new day and new activities. She looks very happy today. Alvin, who was accompanying her, even smiled along the way because of May's happiness.
May imagined many things with her two best friends who Alvin knew very well too. When he remembered that, Alvin felt a little relieved. She believed that Nia and Rena would take good care of her wife.
Arriving at the campus, Rena immediately got out of the car. Followed by Alvin who rushed down.
"May don't jump around!" Alvin was worried, He was afraid of May why.
"Alvin, I'm going inside now okay?" May's answer ignored Alvin's worries. There is a feeling of slight pain because it feels like being ignored by his wife. However, Alvin did not want to make May sad.
"Yeah, I'll walk you to class okay? I also want to see Nita and Rena's hilarious expressions when they see you."
she laughed. She nodded enthusiastically and even immediately held her husband's hand to walk together to the class where it would be held.
When May opened the classroom door, everyone immediately glanced at her and was silent for a moment before screaming her name excitedly.
“May!”
Alvin was relieved to see that. all her wife's friends seem trustworthy and love May. So he didn't have to worry now.
Alvin waved when May turned to him. And after that, he left, to go straight back to the office.
Back to May's class. Everyone was noisy with May's sudden arrival and of course, they were surprised. More so Nita and also Rena. They look annoyed because they don't have a wide space to express all their annoyance and also miss them.
"Hi, madam, the lecturer is coming in, guys!" Immediately everyone panicked and returned to their respective seats. That's when Nita and Rena took May and took her outside."
"You two are crazy," May said while laughing out loud. She just found out that this was Nita and Rena's trick to kidnap her and skip class.
"Don't panic May! We just want to talk for a while with you. We'll be back in class later. Don't worry, okay?"
"Yes, I don't know if it will continue anyway." An additional answer from Rena made May glare.
"That's right, you guys. I'm here with good intentions to study, isn't skipping there no benefits like this?" Nita and Rena giggled. Currently, they are in the women's restroom, to be precise in front of the mirror where people like to take pictures or put on makeup.
"Yes, beautiful. By the way, how? How come you didn't let us know when you were able to do your normal activities again?” Rena asked first. She could not wait to rail at all the questions that were on her mind to May.
"That's because I wanted to surprise you both. and surprise right? May said with a big smile. He felt that the faces of Rena and Nita, who were in a bad mood, indicated that the surprise had succeeded.
"Yes. Until we are rich people don't know anything about you May. Don't repeat Yes. It sucks to know." May smiled faintly. Nita's words touched him. Her best friend is second to none.
"Continue, May, your story about-"
"There is time, now the lecturer is walking to class. We have to go back. I don't want to skip, and you can't either!"
Wanting to refuse but unable to do so, that's Nita and Rena. Finally, they entered the class and attended lecture hours solemnly.
Until the hour is over and the lecturer immediately gives them assignments.
After class disbanded, now Nita, Rena, and May have not left yet, they are still there because Nita asked them to.
"Hurry, what do you want to talk about?" asked May curiously. Nita smiled with a very unconvincing grin that was a good thing. May and Rena honestly didn't know what Nita would say.
"We have a task, okay, let's work on it together while chatting! You haven't eaten yet, have you? After this, there are no more classes. It's boring when you go straight home. It hasn't been long since I met May. Not yet satisfied." she laughed. Nita has a trick.
“Wow, you said that you don't want to cheat with the two of us. Yes, no, Rena. The least we can do is if we don't help Nita, who else will," said May with a shining face.
"Yes yes. I'm the youngest child. So you have to obey me okay!”
No more debate. Rena, as well as Nita and May, headed straight to the cafe they used to hang out together.
After a long time, they never hung out again. It is a special happiness for this small group that they are very lucky to be able to do this again.
