Drake successfully got rid of Dr. Derek Simmons. They have been a nemesis for such a long time. It's all because he can't accept the fact that Celine is already his wife. Killing him was a bad idea so he just vanished Derek to the next century.
By this time, he should already be stuck on that timeline. Now, Drake can go back to the year 2000. It's about time to be with his wife and child. Maybe it's best to just stay there and live like the rest of the people during that time.
How can he miss that year? It's the safest place for them to stay. Although his past is still around, he can no longer be with them after a year has passed. Drake's past will be left behind in the year 2000. But he has already accepted his fate.
It's now his chance to travel back in time. He has to see his family now since it's all over. Derek is no longer around and he will not be able to do anything about it. He can never go back or time travel again. That's the best solution to get rid of him.
Back to the year 2000…
Celine can't believe how fast Cedrick is growing. It's not even a week since she gave birth but he already looks like a toddler. He already started speaking and trying to stand up. It's amazing how he can do all that in such a short period.
Good thing the house they live in now has high fences. Drake's past made this happen. She can't believe that he was able to buy this place. He told her that his future made it possible since he found out that he still exists on this timeline.
That's why the future Drake bought this house for him to stay. The high fence is to make sure that nobody can snoop around. Celine thinks that it was destiny since she ended up around here. At least she knows that his past is alright.
The year is almost over and she noticed that Drake seems to just spend more time at home. Although he already has a job around this place. He decided to be on leave so he can stay with them. Not that she didn't like the company.
"After new year's eve, Chad will replace me. Don't be so sad again since we're just the same person." Drake informed her.
"What do you mean by that? Is he already around?" Celine suddenly felt excited and worried at the same time.
"Yeah, but he said that he's fine to give me the remaining time I have with you and Cedrick." He explains.
"We can all be together, especially on new year's eve!" She told him.
"Yeah, I guess that's the plan." He agrees.
"Wait, are you going somewhere?" She suddenly realized what he said earlier.
"I can only exist in the year 2000. But Chad can be with you since he's the time traveler." He explained.
Celine can't help but feel sad about it. Just when Drake's past self is already here, he has to remain in the year 2000. That means that after new year's eve, he will no longer exist with them. Although they can always go back using the device.
She wanted to stop time but she's not in the timeless lab. The last day of the year has finally arrived. Cedrick looks like five years old by now. He keeps on growing up so fast because he's from the future. The future Drake finally shows himself to them.
"You're finally here!" She can't help but wrap him around her arms.
That's when she realizes how much she loves his future. She may have fallen in love with his past but she can't live without his future. It seems that his past already understood that. He can't be with her as much as he wanted to anyway.
"I can't believe how our baby grows up so fast!" Drake commented.
"Yeah, seems like he's catching up since he's from the future." She replies to him.
"Maybe you have to go back to the future when he turns up to be an adult already." The past Drake suggested.
"Yeah, I guess that's what we need to do." Drake agreed.
Cedrick looks confused looking at the past and future Drake. But he lost interest since he seems to already get it. He's also a genius like his father. Although he is more into the parallel universe. He seems to be interested in discovering the other side.
When the new year countdown begins, Drake's past has already vanished. Although Celine already knows it's about to happen, she still can't help but feel sad. He was the one who takes care of her and Cedrick. But he belongs to the past now.
That made her feel scared about herself. She is also from the past and her future self will end up dead. But she tried to stop thinking about it too much. What matters is that their family is now together. Derek is already done according to Drake.
"Dad!" Cedrick suddenly jumps to Drake.
"It looks like he's excited to see you!" Celine giggled.
"At least he didn't try to steal my device." He chuckled and that made her wonder.
Drake told him about the further future where Cedrick is already a teenager. Celine can't believe that she will get older. Maybe they were able to change her fate by giving birth to their child. They have decided to stay on this timeline for now.
The fireworks seem to never end as the new year begins. Celine looks at her husband and son. They look so happy and as long as they are all together, she no longer wishes for anything more. For them, it's not just a new year's day but a new life.
They have to stay here for a while until Cedrick becomes an adult. That way, even if the TTA still exists in the future, they can no longer do anything about his existence. All of a sudden, Cedrick disappeared and reappeared at the dining table.
