Derek can't believe that Celine is not in her apartment at present. She might just write that message to confuse them. Maybe she was able to find out that they are coming for her. It's another epic fail on his end. The general will be very disappointed for sure.
His son wants to have revenge but he's always just asking the agents to do his bidding. It's time for him to get out in the field or not. If David does that, he might find out what he's planning to do. He doesn't care about revenge but he wants to get Celine back.
"Sir, we can't find anyone from the vicinity either. It looks like we've been tricked!" One of the agents reported.
"Let's get back to the base! Maybe they can find one of them from the records." Derek ordered the two agents.
They have to go back to the future and try to find another lead. It looks like Celine escaped him once again. This is getting annoying for him. All he needs to do is to find Celine so that he can take her back to their past. The time when they were still together.
Little did he know that Drake is just lurking around the corner. He came right on time when the agents were still around. It looks like they got the message from Celine but the wrong one. They will never know where she is since the year 2000 cant be detected.
He's thankful for the Y2K bug since it's the safest timeline. Why didn't he think about that year? It's the perfect place for Celine to give birth. She just followed her instincts and ended up there. If not, Derek must have found her at present. He needs to follow them now.
If he wasn't able to kill him from his past, he can just sabotage his future. He found their time machine nearby. It's time to use his genius mind to put a stop to this charade. It's been dragging for a long time now. The best thing he can do is to send him further.
This time machine looks identical to the one he invented. It seems like the Time Travel Agency stole his idea. Thankfully, it will work to his advantage. Since it's the same, he can make it work the way he wanted it to be. He thinks that Derek should go to the future further.
It's best if he will be where they will never meet in their life anymore. Drake set the year 3021 which is a century after the present time. He sets an automatic lock on the date so that Derek or the other agents can't adjust it anymore. It will be the last time they will travel in time once they get inside.
When he's done, Drake immediately takes off the scene. He will be hiding nearby to see them go to the next century. Although he doesn't have any clue what the future will bring them, he doesn't care anymore. He has to do what he needs to do to save his wife and son. For their sake, he can do anything.
Drake suddenly hears the sound of footsteps going near the machine. It's located in an alley where nobody visits. He tried his best to stay still and be quiet until he saw them take off. It's the only chance he has to trick Celine's ex. They all seem to be in a bad mood since they weren't able to find Celine anywhere.
"Dr. Simmons, what if she just goes to a different place and not another time?" One of the agents asks him.
"Celine is predictable. She will not go anywhere than what she said she would be." Derek replied and entered the time machine.
The other two agents followed him but he pushed them away. That made them complain since they also want to go back to their timeline. Derek seems to have a different idea in mind. He instructed them to stay in case Celine shows up in her apartment.
"But doctor, you said she wouldn't be here anymore." One of the agents complains.
"We don't want to miss her again if we stick together. Both of you can observe the surroundings here." Derek instructed them.
"How are we going to get back?" The other agent sounded concerned.
"You have your communicators! Give us a call once you get some results." Derek said and the door of the time machine closes already.
Drake can't believe that Derek goes by himself. That made his plan better since he felt sorry for the two agents being with him. But now that he went alone, that means he will be the only one who will be stuck in the year 3021. He watched the time machine disappear out of thin air.
Before the agents notice him, Drake immediately presses the button on his device. It's time for him to see Celine and meet his son. His past should be fine with it but only if Dr. Simmons is already gone. His past will return to his timeline. While Celine and their son will go with him to the future.
"Did you hear that?" One of the agents asks.
"There's nobody here except us!" The other one replied.
"This place must be hinted at! Let's hurry up!" One of the agents suggested.
They both run away from the alley since they both believe in ghosts. Even if they are working for science, it's hard for them to ignore superstitions. They have to go back to that apartment and wait until their target goes back. The present time looks outdated since they both came from the future.
Derek didn't notice the year on the time machine since he programmed it to go back to the future. He will be in the future but not the same one he thought he would be. When the time machine opens up, he can't believe it. The place with many people around looks like a ghost town now. How did it happen?
