Chapter 17
Stella's POV.
I got to the class and realized that our seats have been swapped.
I wasn't too concerned about this and just chose the next available seat near the class monitor who was a tall guy with curly brown hair.
I didn't bother myself with what my classmates would think or say as that's not my business at all after all I didn't come to school to listen to their nonsense.
The class began normally and I took notes as the literature teacher tutored though I am already been familiar with the topic being treated well I still made sure to pay attention to the teaching as it's my duty as a student too.
As literature was one of my most favorite subjects, I felt that I have missed a lot in the past few days
Thankfully I am now back in school.

Steva's POV.
I chose a seat in the front with an Averagely tall Blonde haired girl.
She was one of the most beautiful girls in the class but she was still good-natured though.
I must admit that I missed seating with Stella as we often conversed with our eyes during the lesson but it isn't the same anymore since we are separated.
I noticed that Mark Darwin wasn't in class today so I proceeded to ask the girl beside me after class and that's where I found out that he had been transferred to another school.
But why?
Why would he suddenly transfer to another school?
I was still thinking of asking him about what happened that Saturday as I still had my doubts but well I just heard the most shocking news.
I had been trying to get through to him but it seemed impossible as his number was switched off and he was also offline.
It felt like he had just disappeared the surface of the earth.
What's going on?
Something's fishy and I need to find out what it is.
I need to get to the bottom of all this.
I need to know the truth.
I thought with renewed determination.
I went to the cafeteria for lunch and well I felt it.
I felt a little lonely.
There was no Stella there to chat me up on things.
I felt alone.
I sat at my table sluggishly eating the buns and orange juice I bought when I noticed a presence in front of me.
It was the blonde-haired girl who happened to be my seatmate.
" Hey, Steva. " She squealed.
" Hey. " I replied with a forced smile.
" Can I seat with you? " She politely asked.
" Sure. " I replied and put my attention back on my snacks.
" Thanks. " I heard her soft voice.
" Hm. "
We eat our snacks in silence.
I was about to leave the table after finishing my snacks when I felt my sleeves being tugged.
It was the girl.
I faced her and then raised my eyebrows at her, " Uh? "
She blushes shyly before speaking up " Umm, Can we be friends, Steva? "
" What? " I blurted out in confusion.
" I said can we be friends? " She asked again with anticipation.
" Well,... " I hesitated.
" Please... " She pleaded with a puppy face.
" Alright. " I finally relented.
" Thanks, friends? " She brought her hands out for a handshake.
" Friends. " I replied taking her hands.
At this moment I saw Stella buying some donuts, our eyes met for a split second when she turned around but she soon averted her eyes.
I was expecting to see some kind of pain or hurt in those eyes but I didn't.
Instead, I thought I saw a warning, it was like she was telling me something like, " Be careful. "
But wait, what should I be careful about? Why should I be scared?
Who's out to hurt me?
I thought confusedly.
Well, I removed this thought from my mind and went back to class with Tina my New desk mate trailing behind me.

I headed to the library immediately it was break time.
I needed to do a quick revision of the lessons thought Earlier in the class.
Since it was only three subjects, I finished my revisions in 30mins and went downstairs to buy some snacks.
I bought some Donuts and milk tea and was about to head back when I caught sight of Steva and her new deskmate Tina, they were shaking hands and uttering the word ' friends ', I frowned hearing this.
Suddenly Steva's eye met with mine for a split second and I sent a warning to her.
I would have been happy if Steva made friends with someone else but why Tina?
She's part of Gloria's gang and well she never liked Steva and me from day one so why now?
Why is she pretending to care?
Why did she want to be friends with Steva all of a sudden?
What are they planning?
I made a mental note in my mind to keep a close eye on them and Steva too.
I was deep in my thoughts and wasn't looking where I was going till I collided with someone.
It was Jack Ravine the head boy of our school.
" Ouch, I am sorry. " I apologized immediately realizing what had just happened and knelt to pick up the fallen papers.
" It's alright. " He said with a smile.
" Hm... " I stood up and handed the papers to him after apologizing once again.
" It's okay, by the way, what were you thinking so deeply about? " He inquired curiously.
" Well, it's nothing serious just some random thoughts.."
" Oh really? " He said raising an eyebrow
" Yes. " I replied.
" If you say so, Take care, alright? " He said with a wink before he left.
" Yeah, thanks. " I replied softly.
After he disappeared from my sight.
I placed my hands on my beating heart.
What just happened?
Jack the senior Prefect spoke to me?
I was still in shock.
Jack was said to be proud and arrogant so what happened?
I had a crush on Jack right from Senior year one but well I tried concealing it but well now.
I felt my heart beating rapidly.
' Stella focus! You can't fall in love! ' I scolded myself inwardly.
" Yeah, focus. " I thought and walked back to class.
