Chapter 36

Filippo walked further into the woods. It was quiet and dark, surrounded by creepy noises, which brought mixed emotions to the atmosphere. With no horse but his legs, Filippo must accomplish this as soon as possible; there is not much time left for him.
His eyes scanned the woods his ears stood at alert. Quickly, he brought out a map and compass from his bag. His eyes fixed on the paper with a hardened expression. The clothes given to him by the Chief were also a bonus to his luck, a pair of black pants and a cloak, a dress fit enough for a journey like this. Slowly, he dipped his hand inside his bag and brought out his rosary, making the sign of the cross; he stepped further, the sound of wild birds filling his ear in utmost dismay.
Hours passed by; it was almost sunset; Filippo surveyed the woods; he needs to rest for the night. A gentle breeze began to blow, shoving leaves around without ease.
Filippo found a spot good enough for him to lay his head. Shoving the map in his bag, he sat closer to the tree; with his eyes fixed up, he inhaled deeply; the woods were almost too dark for him to see through. Placing his bag at the foot of the tree, he stood up and strolled into a woods path, searching for dry sticks.
Filippo glanced around; luckily for him, he found some sticks quickly, picked them up, and walked back to his resting spot. As he walked, a loud cry of a bird-filled the wood; instantly, he looked around, wondering where such noise is coming from. The woods suddenly became quiet to his surprise as he could hear his breathing.
Quickly, Filippo ambled towards his resting spot, laid the dry sticks with his eyes scanning the suddenly quiet woods, as no sound could be heard, which was so strange to him.
Reaching for his bag where he left it, his eyes fixed around the darkness overwhelming him.
Abruptly, His heart leaped in awe; quickly, he turned his gaze at the tree where he dropped his bag, but to his dismay, the bag was gone. Filippo stood up, his eyes glaring around in shock. He searched everywhere once more, but he couldn't find it, in there was a matchbox which he can use to set the dry sticks on fire. And apart from the matchbox, his books, map, and everything he needed for his journey were fully packed in it.
Suddenly, the leaves around him moved swiftly. Filippo scanned around but saw no one; he could smell another present but couldn't see clearly in the night. His black eyes flickered around as he moved backward, his hand on his sword, which was placed beside his cloak.
"Who are you? Show yourself!" He ordered with no sign of fear in his voice, his eyes glowing in the dark as an intense feeling overwhelm him.
A gentle but harsh wind pass through him, his cloak moved to the touch of the wind, his hand still touching his sword.
There was a soft chuckle behind him which startled him. Filippo turned around as a figure came out of some leaves, a lady with long black hair. Her skin glowed enchanting in the woods, her presence radiating so much power. Her lips were so red that Filippo could notice them from where he stood; she wore revealing clothes, her breasts almost visible and firm. Her legs, long and beautifully endowed with splendor, indeed she was a definition of beauty.
She came out entirely with a smirk on her face, her eyes fixed on Filippo, "Are you looking for this?" She implored, raising his bag as a sound of giggle escaped her lips.
Filippo glared at her; his eyes slowly glanced at his bag in her hand. He looked back at the mysterious lady before him with a sentimental spirit, "That belongs to me," he let out, his stern eyes on her.
The lady let out a laugh, seductive and sensual. She had an expression on her face as her eyes scanned Filippo's body.
"I didn't say it is mine, boy," she responded in her seductive tone. Slowly, she walked towards Filippo, her clothes so transparent that he could see the firmness of her breasts.
Filippo narrowed his eyes as she approached him; when she got close to him, she stopped, her eyes locking with Filippo's as she seductively bit her lower red lip to her fascinated mind, her look of sexual desire evident.
"I know you want this, Filippo," she said, bringing his bag closer to his face.
Filippo glared at her with intense eyes, his gaze not leaving hers, "How do you know my name?" He asked in an aggressive tone, his mind not falling for the tempting tricks of this lady.
The strange woman laughed sweetly but loudly as her voice echoed throughout the Woods.
Slowly she placed a finger on Filippo's chest, her fingers beautifully painted as it shone red in dismay. With her hand on his chest, she caresses it sensually, her blue eyes piercing on Filippo as her black hair swing to the touch of the wind.
"I can give you this," she said, shoving his bag to his face, "And...." She gave him her best seductive look, her hands touching his cheek as she strokes his lips temptingly, "I will give you something your body will desire in the wildest fantasy," she whispered, her hand still on his lips.
A smirk appeared on Filippo's face. Slowly, he touched her face as she giggled in excitement, her blue eyes sparkling in delight, "Aren't you beautiful" he whispered to her like a spell was cast on him. His gaze fixed on the smiling lady, he slowly shifted her hair away from her face tugging it behind her ear. Her elf ear became apparent to him; his smile deepened as he stared at her. He is right; she is a demon sent to tempt him in the possible way she can. How foolish she is! Thinking he will be trapped with her attractive look and touches. All these went through his mind as he looks at the giggling demon in front of him.
Slowly, he drew her closely, his breath almost touching her face. She chuckled as his lips came closer to hers; the feeling of ecstasy ran through her as she wasn't aware of Filippo's trick. Immediately, without her realizing it, Filippo slowly brought out his dagger from his breast pocket and pierced into her deeply; her eyes flew wide open, staring at him in shock. He penetrates deeper, blood dripping down her mouth as her scream filled the woods.
Filippo's eyes hardened in disgust; he went closer to her as blood dripped continuously from her mouth, her eyes squeezing in nothing but rage, realizing that she was tricked. With a smile on his face, he stared at her dripping mouth. "Never tempt a priest," he whispered in a harsh tone to her ears.
The lady began to change to his dismay. Her blue eyes suddenly turned red, filled with evil; long sharp fangs elongated from her mouth as more blood dripped from it; she became visibly naked as her screams got louder, the trees around them began to plummet.
Quickly, Filippo redrew his sword from his side; without warning, he pierced it deeper into the screaming demon. The ground before them began to shake violently as he staggered to the ground, his eyes still fixed on the changing lady.
A long but horrible tail sprung out from behind her; long pointy horns grew on her head as her elf ears became longer. Her long black hair disappeared, replaced with bald hair, with only her green skin visible. She gazed at Filippo with anger in her eyes, blood dripping from her mouth as she staggered backward. "You will never succeed!" She yelled in a man's voice, her voice reverberating with power. She pointed her long finger towards Filippo, who watched her with a stern face, "You will never succeed! More demons are coming your way, and they will make sure you get killed! Your journey to the underworld will be nothing but a graveyard to your death!" She cried out in pain, more blood oozing from her mouth.
Immediately, Filippo swung his sword, at this moment cutting her head as a mighty roar escaped her lips. Her head fell to the ground, but her eyes were still wide open, staring at Filippo in a fury, "They are coming after you; you will never succeed!" She shrieked loudly.
Filippo walked towards her head which laid on the ground, with a hardened expression on his face; he picked up her head, his eyes locking with her glowing red eyes, a feeling of anger overpowering him. "Tell them to come; I am ready," he whispered to her without fear in his voice.
Her eyes began to flicker around in pain, slowly it began to close, her lips turning pale, and the blood on her lips turned black as night. Her green skin began to peel, black liquid emitting from it; slowly, her head turned into dust, swiftly fading along with the fierce wind.
Filippo turned to her body by his side; her body turned into dust and vanished into thin air before his eyes.
Filippo exhaled deeply and looked at his sword, which glitters in the dark; the demon's blood on it turned into dust.
The wind around him became harsh; his cloak moved along to it as his hair scattered, dust filling the woods.
Quickly, he picked up his bag and decided not to rest for the night but continue his journey. A lot is coming his way, and he must be prepared at all costs; the time is indeed ticking.
